Miss World British Virgin Islands Get ready for some glitz and glamour this weekend as four beautiful young ladies vie for the title of Miss World British Virgin Islands. This Saturday, October 3rd the Eileene L. Parsons Auditorium will comes alive at 7:30pm as Sasha Wintz, Bryana Robles, Yadali Thomas, Mindy Paul take the stage and compete in segments of sports/fitness, fashion, talent and philanthropic involvement for this prestigious title. Pageantry and competition is no stranger to the BVI, however the Miss World has been restructured and is being completely re-branded, to where it is now poised to become one of the premier entertainment shows, empowering young women in the BVI. This is the first time in 14 years that there will be an actual Miss World Pageant in the BVI. Thanks to founder Eric Morley’s PR expertise, the first Miss World pageant welcomed a global audience greater than international events like the World Cup and the Olympic Games. At its peak, the show claimed an audience of 27.5 million in Britain alone. The Miss World pageant is considered the oldest sur-
viving beauty pageant, and one of the three most popular annual beauty pageants and is run by the Miss Universe Organization. A fundamental difference between the pageant organizations is the job of the winners. The winner of the Miss Universe pageant would, in the past, move to the US and make various appearances around the country, representing different brands and sponsors. However, the Miss World Organization established a philanthropic platform and the winner is expected to represent the many causes of the organization, one of which is to raise funds for and bring attention to disadvantaged children around the world. This young lady travels the globe in support of such causes. So come out and be part of this historic event the night will like no other with entertainment by X-Factor winner Melanie Amaro, B-More, Da Jedi, Jeremy Vanterpool, and more. Tickets are $35 for preferred seating and $25 for general seating and can be purchased at UMI, CIL & Hazem’s Beauty Supply. See yah there!

Dear Koren,
I have a real fear. When I met my guy he was with someone and he left her for me. I believe in karma and some time ago I saw a photo a girl sent him on whatsapp. His response was thanks but I get to see the real thing from my girl every day. I don’t know if he deliberately left the message for me to see, but I’m wondering how long it will be before he gives in to temptation and hurt me, the way I hurt the person I took him from.

El Nino The literal interpretation of the Spanish El Nino is ‘the little boy’ and is often associated with the Christ child since the weather phenomena it refers to was first discovered around Christmas. It is the warming and cooling of the eastern equatorial Pacific Ocean around the northwestern coast of South America and is sometimes named ENSO (El Nino Southern Oscillation). But although the event is spawned in the Pacific it can have far reaching effects and is certainly not unnoticed in the Caribbean. El Nino is at least partly responsible for our drier

The objective is to fill the full 9x9 grid with digits so that each column, each row, and each of the nine 3x3 “subgrids” that compose the main grid contains all of the digits from 1 to 9 – with no repeats within each row or column within the entire square. A partially completed grid is usually provided, which typically has a unique solution. See next weeks Limin’ Times issue for solution.
