Popularly known as ‘Suchhasnobb’, Thanisha Turnbull is a makeup artist like no other. The BVI makeup phenomenon will shake you with her creative looks. Like several other makeup artists, Thanisha’s career started with herself. Her own unique look captured the attention of many, which led to the launch of her business, Snobs Beauty Bar. When she started creating looks with vibrant colours and gem stones, it opened opportunities to offer her services for photoshoot launches, costume releases and more artistic work. Thanisha has been fortunate to have her work adorn the faces of many beauty queens, models and local artists so far in her career. She also does freelance work and personal house calls for special or intimate events. When asked about her inspirations she told Limin’ Times, “I find inspiration from makeup artist gurus Nikki’s tutorials and Pat McGrath, where her work is a mixture of their strong suits. What I really love about Pat is her natural glowing skin makeup Limin’Times Entertainment Guide

and for Nikki, I love her creativity and glamorous looks.” Her favourite look, she explained, is that neutral face-with-a-hint-of-glow, amazing lash, nude glossy lip and bubbly personality that always seals the deal. One must-have look for Thanisha, is lashes, as she believes a woman would always need mascara or a good lash if nothing else. Her love for lashes led her to launch her own lash line which carries 13 styles of lashes from simple and wispy to the dramatic snobby lash. Since launching earlier this year, they have been a success with the public. Thanisha continues to strive for the stars as she soars through her galaxy of makeup artistry and creativity. She keeps up with new techniques and current trends through the fashion industry and social media as she continues to wow the market and make a name for herself throughout the Virgin Islands. 6

Seven Deadly Sins Gluttony
Habitual greed on excess in eating consumes more than one requires. “Little boy, get out my fridge! Did I not give you lunch and a snack one hour ago? You can’t possibly be hungry so fast.” Joann scolded her son Jason. “But mommy, I still hungry, you know I’m a growing boy,” Jason replied. “Not so fast, can’t be. You going soon eat people out of house and home at the rate you going. I would rather clothe you than feed you. I don’t even know where the food going.” Joann said to Jason as she walked away shaking her head. Jason proceed to eat his snack and went to his room to play video games until dinnertime. Later in the evening when his mom told him to wash up and come down for dinner, his mouth dropped to the floor at the sight that was on his plate. His mom had baked chicken which was not bad but his sides were vegetables and baked potato, food he did not like. “Mommy, what is this, you know I don’t like vegetables,” Jason whined as he sat at the table. “Well you going eat it tonight or you won’t be eating at all. Now eat,” Joann told her son. Before the night was over, Jason ate three more times.
“Jason, the plate doesn’t have nothing else in it, what are you licking?” his mother asked. “Mommy, I’m still hungry,” he said. “No you are not, I swear you only eat because you see food. One of these days I will leave the house empty and watch how you survive,” his mother argued. “Mommy you can’t do me that. I’ll die in a heartbeat,” Jason pleaded. “Okay, watch me. Do you know overeating is a sin?” Joann asked. “How can you overeat when you’re still hungry?” “You are not hungry; you just can’t stand to see anyone get more than you. One day you will learn the hard way.” Three weeks later
The next morning.
Jason had just gotten home from his afternoon club and met a note on the fridge from his mother; “I’ll be late this evening, yes, you can have a snack before dinner and if I’m not home by 7pm, order a pizza and use the cash I put in the drawer next to the utensils. DO NOT GO ANYWHERE OR CALL ANYONE TO MY HOUSE.”

Madea Family Funeral
So I finally got to see another movie on my bucket list of movies to watch (don’t worry my list isn’t that long and I won’t write about all of them). A Madea Family Funeral is about a reunion in a small Georgia town which turns into an unexpected nightmare. Instead of quiet reflection and relaxation, Madea and the gang soon find themselves attending an elaborate funeral that doesn’t quite go according to plan. In the beginning of the movie you see Anthony (Derek Morgan) and his wife Vianne (Jen Harper) and family talking about their anniversary celebration not knowing that the kids had their own agenda – a secret party they were throwing for their parents. As the film continues, Madea (Tyler Perry) and her posse; Hattie (Patrice Lovely), Aunt Bam (Cassie Davis), Joe (also played by Tyler Perry) are all waiting at Brian’s (also played by Tyler Perry) house to head to the family reunion. On their way they were pulled over by the cops and it almost doesn’t go well from the jump. Once they arrive at the hotel, it’s discovered that a man (Anthony) died in one of the rooms. Madea also 13
sees one of his sons A.J. (Courtney Burrell) at the hotel and makes everyone present lie to the wife when she gets to the hospital. In the movie, we are also introduced to Heathrow (played by Tyler Perry), Joe and Madea’s wheelchair-bound, throat-cancer survivor brother who says he lost his legs in the war (he didn’t) who uses a laryngophone to make his obscene thoughts be heard. It’s no wonder that he and Jo get along well, because he’s just as slack as Joe or maybe worse. Madea and posse head to Vianne’s home to speak to the grieving family and offer whatever assistance they could. The widow then tells Madea that she wants her to plan the funeral. Now if you’re familiar with Tyler Perry’s movies/ plays, you would know that this is going to be a disaster. Madea has no decorum! After the hours-long funeral, they head back to the house and some deep dark secrets come tumbling out. What could these secrets be and what do they mean going forward for the grieving family? A Madea Family Funeral can be streamed on iTunes.

World Champs Medal Eludes McMaster By .07 Secs With all the hype of a possible World Record at the 17th IAAF World Championships in one of the most anticipated races led by the ‘Big Three’ – all of whom have run under 47.00 seconds, Norway’s Karsten Warholm, the defending champ, Rai Benjamin of the USA — who represented Antigua and Barbuda as a Jr. — and hosts Qatar’s Abderrahman Samba, Kyron McMaster came up .07 seconds short of spoiling the show in the 400m Hurdles. The hard charging Warholm, joined the USA’s Edwin Moses, Dominican Republic’s Felix Sanchez and the USA’s Kerron Clement, as back to back 400m Hurdles champion, when he crossed the line in 47.42 seconds. Rai Benjamin finished second in 47.66. Samba, running from the outside corridor, passed McMaster in the last few strides for bronze in 48.03 to McMaster’s season’s best 48.10. “The race was pretty good, wished I got the bronze, silver or even the gold,” McMaster said. “But running out of lane two in a hard field like that, coming towards the end, just couldn’t hold on to something that we thought was secured in the bag after coming off hurdle eight going into hurdle nine.” He added: “After hurdle 10, I tried to hold on as much as possible, but I couldn’t hold it for much longLimin’Times Entertainment Guide
er. My aim was to run through the last phase of the race as hard as possible — not only for medal wise but time wise — just to secure something positive in the end, win lose or draw.” In the process, McMaster became the BVI’s first male IAAF World Championships finalist and first outdoor championships track finalist male or female, after he was reinstated in the 400m Hurdles on Saturday, when he finished 3rd in his heat in 48.40 seconds. The first two finishers automatically advanced to the final and he had to await the results of a protest filed by BVI Athletics Association officials after he was initially disqualified for hitting the first hurdle, which officials judged that he didn’t clear, but the ruling was eventually overturned and he advanced to the final as the fastest non automatic qualifier. McMaster’s finish eclipsed Chantel Malone’s seventh place in the Long Jump in 2017, as the BVI’s best showing in the event, since its 1983 debut. Tahesia Harrigan-Scott — who won an IAAF World Indoor Championships 60m bronze in 2008 — was a 100m semi-finalist in 2009. Shot Putter Eldred Henry, ranked No 16 with a best of 21.47m (70’5¼”) will be next to see action in the qualifying rounds. The finals are set for Saturday. Also Saturday, Pan Am Games Long Jump champion Chantel Malone, swings into action in the qualifying rounds of her pet event, in which she’s ranked No. 7 in the world with 6.90m (22’7¾”). The finals are scheduled for Sunday’s last day of action. In all 1972 athletes are competing for $7, 530,000 over the 10-day competition. 14

come and speak with her. She had tried calling Jason’s father but never got an answer. Just when she was growing inpatient, she heard a voice say Ms. Dames. The doctor had informed Joann that Jason would be fine eventually, however she needed to give him a proper diet and have him eat small portions only when he was hungry. His cholesterol was also high, so she needed to work on getting it back to normal. She followed the doctor in to see her son. Those who don’t hear, will feel.

Joann reached home about 9:15 and met Jason on the bathroom floor passed out.
