DJ Wiz: The “Big People” DJ
Gregory “DJ Wiz” Turnbull can’t remember a time when he wasn’t around music. For him, it all started with playing around equipment that belonged to his brother Bernard Green, aka Ras Inard, who was also a DJ, but has since passed on. His first gig was in 1990, when the veteran DJ Juice asked him to play at Strawberries (then a club in Sea Cows Bay) and soon, other popular clubs hired him. He was also one of the first DJ’s on ZROD 103.7fm. “I’ve been the in-house DJ at family store Brand Nubian Flava from 1996–2000 and from 2000–2006 the DJ/Manager at ZVCRfm,” said DJ Wiz recently. Since 2006 his full-time professional is being a DJ. In 2012 he joined the AZP production crew, expanding into other avenues of the entertainment industry. “I’m a talented DJ but it’s not a hobby for me like some others, it’s my full time job along with sound, stage, lighting, event planning and promotions,” he said. DJ Wiz also provides musical entertainment and video DJ services for all kinds of events. He specializes in private parties and weddings but has also played for other events. He pays respect

to the DJs that have influenced his career such as DJ Ice Kid, DJ Roc Raider and Jazzy Jeff. “I feel there is a song for every moment in life and would like to make a positive change or influence to anyone through music,” he said. “My signature event is the Big People Party which is an event that caters to grown and mature people ages 30 and over. It pleases me to see my people having a great time,” he said. DJ Wiz loves to spend most of his free time with family and close friends. He prefers quiet places like nature hikes, beached or just reading. He also loves to play pool. This month is full of chances to hear DJ Wiz play at events like the Taste of Tortola on the 5th, at Fort Christian in St. Thomas on the 12th, at Olatunji’s show on the 19th and during the Lobster Fest Boat Ride on Speedy’s and at Anegada Reef Hotel during the Lobster Fest on the 26th and 27th. Find DJ Wiz all over social media including on Twitter, Instagram, Soundcloud, and Facebook as Djwizvi. He can also be reached online at www. djwizvi.com or www.azpproductionsvi.com or via phone (284) 494–1468.

Left for Husband Ask Koren
By Janette Costello
Dear Koren, I was involved with an older woman and now she is back with her husband (they were separated when we got together). She says it’s best if we have no contact. I guess I cannot provide her with the lifestyle she wants and maybe she was just using me to make him jealous. I feel left out in the cold because I really fell hard for her. How do I get over her? Did she even really love me? If I could get some reassurance that she cared, I think I would be able to move on, but she never even answers my messages. What do I do? By the way, I’m female. –Heartbroken
heart feels like it’s broken but you will find healing from your loss. If she is trying to mend things with her hubby, then it’s understandable why she wants no contact. Don’t beg, just let her go because she was never yours to begin with. I’m sure she has not forgotten you; she is just focused in a different direction. When you choose to date again, give yourself the best chance at happiness by finding someone who is interested in a long-term relationship with you. Try to avoid the person who is just killing time or who is in the middle of some drama that you don’t need. For now, just love yourself hard and treat yourself kindly. Remember that you are special and you don’t need anyone else to tell you that. Sincerely, –Koren
Dear Heartbroken, You can and will move on without reassurance from her because you were built with your own self-soothing mechanism. If you sit and wait for her reassurance and it never comes, does that mean you will never move on? Hearing from her that she cared isn’t the cure-all you’re hoping for, in fact, it might just fill you with hope and send you off again, panting behind someone who is reaching for someone else. Maybe she is not able to have a full-fledged female-female relationship because it’s not how she was cut out. Maybe she was hurting and you came along, all sweet and eager to please and it was what she needed at the moment. Clearly, you got some joy out of it too. Whatever the case, it was temporary, now it’s time to move on. I know it’s not easy when your Limin’Times Entertainment Gude
