A Christmas Prince A Royal Babyby Laura Thomas If you’re a Christmas flick fanatic like me, and enjoyed A Christmas Prince and A Christmas Prince the Royal Wedding, then surely A Christmas Prince the Royal Baby has to be next on the list of things to watch. It’s Christmas in Aldovia and a royal baby is on the way. Queen Amber and King Richard have had a full year on the throne and now they are hosting royals from a distant kingdom to renew a sacred truce; but when the treaty vanishes, peace is jeopardized and an ancient curse threatens the family. The movie opens with Queen Amber (Rose McIver) giving us a review of their first year on the throne. We then see her and King Richard (Ben Lamb) giving an interview but refusing to answer the press when they ask what the baby’s name will be. As the movie continues, we see the royal couple host King Tai (Kevin Shen), Queen Ming (Momo Yeung) and Lynn (Crystal Yu), their assistant, arrive to sign the treaty. The treaty helps to prevent both kingdoms from heading to war. When the day arrives for Limin’Times Entertainment Guide

the treaty to be signed, it mysteriously goes missing. Following a snowstorm, the palace now has no visitors or anyone left so Aldovia’s King & Queen believe the thief who stole the treaty is still in the Palace and they call for a police dog to sniff the treaty out. The snow causes all flights to be cancelled and Queen Ming and King Tai can’t return home. This is a plus for Aldovia as it buys them more time to look for the treaty and get it signed. As time is running out, Queen Amber grows more worried since she feels her baby is in danger because of the curse associated with the treaty. All the worrying sends her into an early labour. During labour, she asks her sister-in-law, Princess Emily to go into the dungeon and she takes her mom Queen Helena with her. Is the treaty ever found? Why did Queen Amber ask Princess Emily to go into the dungeon and was the baby a boy or girl? A Christmas Prince the Royal Baby can be streamed on Netflix or YouTube if you don’t have Netflix.

After writing a few ‘Mommy and Me’ pieces, I’ve since met a few readers and mothers that said they look forward to them as it gave them ideas about how to bond and enjoy moments with their little ones. I jokingly asked them if they were sure they wanted my experiences, but deep down I was serious. Somebody help me! Let me tell you about my sassy mini-me. This past weekend, I told her that I didn’t want her tormenting me since all I would’ve been doing was relaxing in bed. Could you imaging my four-yearold opened my eye lids and told me when the sun is up it’s time to be awake, now get up! Flinging the pillow at her was no help, I missed her anyway. You would think my son would rescue me but all he did was laugh and told me that he was not getting in between me and my child. The nerve of him to leave me hanging. So after five minutes of laying down next to me, she mentions that she is hungry and I need to get up now, I should’ve known it was a trick because as we got in the kitchen, she laughed and told me her dad had already fed her, she just wanted me to pour her some juice. If that wasn’t bad enough, later in the afternoon during our Barbie tea party, she decided that my hair is ugly and that it needs to be combed. You would think with 10 dollies in front of her, she would love to comb their hair, Wrong! If her hand Limin’Times Entertainment Guide

is not in my hair she doesn’t feel good. Boy is she rough. Let me tell you, whenever my princess finishes combing my hair, I usually have a headache for days. I don’t understand this kind of abuse. By the way at this point in the day, my son (he’s older than his sister) had already left the house and went over to his cousins. When he came back he met us cuddling on the couch watching TV and joined in on the opposite side of me. These are the precious moments I look forward too when I get home. Just bonding with my children and making sure they always feel it when I tell them I love them. Often, some of us think buying our children things is all that they want. Don’t get me wrong, my children love gifts but nothing brightens their day more than when I play with them and show them love. Every day we ask about each other’s day, and find out what we can do to make it better. We never go to bed without telling each other how much we love each other.

Devious Minds Chapter 8
Acting on his own advice, Patrick decided it was time he he took the leap and stand up for what he felt would be a better solution on a project for work. A number of times, he would have great ideas but they were always shut down by the supervisor or she would end up taking praise for it or sometimes he never had to courage to speak up. This time around, Patrick went ahead and deliberately did the opposite of what he was told and executed the project as he saw fit. His supervisor Julie was about to go postal on him when she got a phone call from management asking to see her immediately. “Hi Mr. Dean, did you request to see me?” Julia asked as she walked into the boardroom. getting nervous because she saw the whole management team. “Aww yes! There’s my superstar,” Mr. Dean replied. The sound of superstar made Julie relax, those words assured her that she wasn’t going to get her ass hauled for the error moo moo Patrick had caused.
“Not only did you pull a switcheroo on me but it was a hit and not only that, we have officially signed the Rawsons as a client. Great job Julie. By the way, how many times will I have to tell you call me Tom?” Mr. Dean said to Julie. “Well Tom, it was last minute just before I sent out the package, I prayed so hard that it wasn’t going to be my ass but I thought it was worth a shot,” Julie told Tom and the Management team. The whole room burst out in laughter. After a few more minutes of conversing, Tom and Julie left the boardroom and headed over to Julie’s team. When Patrick saw them coming, he stood up, he was ready to take the fall for what he had done, at least this time around it was his doing and not someone else that he usually got the blame for. “Congratulations team, you’ve landed us another client,” Mr. Dean told the group. “I just wanted to come over here and personally thank the team that helped Julie here with that excellent job,” he continued. “This b!tch! I went out on the limb and she gets all the credit. The nerve of this wench,” Patrick thought to himself. After Mr. Dean left, Julie headed to her office and told Patrick to follow her. “Listen, I don’t know what stunt you were trying to pull, but next time, I give you orders, do as I say,” Julie said sternly to him. “Why? You always take the credit for my work or dismiss my ideas,” Patrick replied. “Excuse me,” Julie replied. “No excuse me, I’m tired of the way you treat me as if I’m not a valuable member of this staff and team and then you take all credit dis-
13
missing my hard work.” “Listen to me you lil…” Julie started to say but Patrick cut her off telling her that he will go straight to management and tell them that it was all his doings and he has the paper work and email traces to show it. He demanded that Julie respect him as an adult and stop treating him as if he was a child. Patrick walked away beeming on the inside, not only because he finally stood up for himself but just because he put his misereble supervisor in her place and there was nothing she could’ve done about it just to keep her truth hidden.

Tortola Wrestles Champions Trophy From Virgin Gorda Tortola’s Jim Beans Star Boys, went to Virgin Gorda on Sunday and wrestled the Stones Dominos Tournament Champion of Champions trophy from Game On, taking the best of three competition 2-0 at Sunset Bar. The Star Boys took the opening game 2018-1009, then fended off Game On’s later surge, 1510-1447, to bring back the trophy Courvoisier Boys won on Tortola in 2018. “We came for it,” Jim Beans Star Boys captain Gregory Salmon said. “From the time we reached the knockout stage, we knew it was two straight everyone was getting. We were comfortable coming over because we knew we’d beat those guys.” After reaching 1300 points, Salmon said they were worried when Game On as they reeled off several games to put them on edge. He said they knew Game On was a good team—one they didn’t fear— but they had the players and the game plan. “In the first round, we made a change with four new players,” he noted. “We didn’t have a problem, but, I’m glad for the victory. I know them now and I beat them already with a different team, so I knew Virgin Gorda didn’t have a team to stop us. We have the best team in the competition. We were focused and did what we had to do.” Game On captain Alston Richardson said it was a good game. “If that other table had come in (with their scores) to help the other one, we would have won that (second) game,” he said. “I’m not complaining, but we
lost a good championship game. My guys fought to the best of their ability. We were winning on one table but the team from Tortola was winning with bigger points.” Richardson said it hurt, but his team lost its focus during the first game which contributed to their slow start. “We didn’t stay focused,” he recalled. “Early in the game, we started to bicker a lot amongst ourselves. You know how bad I feel now? My daughter, my pumpkin, T’Kyler texted me saying ‘daddy, I want you to win and sent me a bunch of hearts—daddy, I love you. Win.’ I’m feeling bad now. For years were competing in this thing. They win and I feel bad now.” Tournament coordinator Steve George said the tournament went as expected with both teams going at it. “We expected that we’d have a lot of fun and it was a lot of fun,” he said. “Tortola ran away with game one but game two, Game On really showed their class and really took it to Jim Beans Star Boys and both teams were vying for a few points to win the game and the Star Boys ended up winning the game to give Game On two straight. Overall, the 2019 tournament was a resounding success.” The tournament was among activities for TICO’s 50th anniversary.
