A new flavour of kitchen
running the company with the help of Sales Manager Bob Peters.
Black Country Kitchens, which was formed in July by local entrepreneur Mitchell Smith, will become the area’s only Kulhmann stockist when it launches a dedicated showroom later this month.
Black Country Kitchens is still committed to sourcing from the UK and, in addition to Kuhlmann, is showcasing more than 60 kitchens across its classical, contemporary and painted ranges including Burbridge, Bella and TKC brands.
Following a visit to Dortmund to seal the deal, the company has invested another £25,000 into equipping its Delph Road site with two fully fitted kitchens and a selection of finishes from the international brand’s extensive range.
It offers the complete service, from talking customers through their requirements to designing their bespoke kitchens and fitting them quickly and efficiently.
It’s the culmination of a flying start for Smith, who has seen his firm secure over £100,000 of orders from consumers looking for a bespoke offer and personal service…growth that has necessitated the need for six new staff, including craftsman, delivery driver and an experienced designer. “We started out by wanting to provide the marketplace with something different and that included finding local, nationwide and international brands that embrace new design styles and trends,” explained Mitchell, who is
With its reputation growing, Black Country Kitchens has now started to tender for major new build and refurbishment projects, tapping into the skills of its sister business Smith Carpentry Services.

Interiors Go Geometric Dig out your set square and embrace all things geometric. Your Lifestyle Magazine’s Interior Design expert, Victoria Stanton shows you how.
High end interior designers have been using bold geometrics for years to give a neutral based scheme a pop of instant sophistication. But have you noticed this trend for geometric prints moving into the High Street too over the last few
seasons? The fashion for wallpaper, fabrics, rugs and even furniture featuring colourful zigzags, squares, circles and triangles has really soared since the 80’s trend on the fashion brought us colour blocking and geometric prints.

You may be surprised to find how versatile this trend is. Great interior design is all about understanding which elements of the room should play a dominant role and which should act as more of an assisting or accenting feature. Geometrics can fulfil either role with ease. The Americans have been using brightly coloured trellis and lattice designs combined with tropical florals for many years to achieve a fresh take on a colonial theme. Even a traditional English country house scheme can be enlivened with a couple of flame stitch cushions or a small geometric weave on a feature chair. If, like me, you are a lover of the eclectic interior, then there is no excuse for an absence of a geometric piece or two. These patterns combine brilliantly with ethnic prints and weaves as well as paisleys and antique furniture. Eclectic interiors are all about juxtaposing styles and periods and a little geometry may be just the thing to make the scheme a little more cutting edge.

Your Home Whilst it is considered a very contemporary trend, geometric design has it’s roots firmly in history, dating back to the 4th and 5th millennia BC, consider ancient Greek and Roman ceramics. Geometric designs are also prolific in Islamic art. Due to the Muslim teaching that only God should be worshipped, decoration of mosques never depicted human figures or animals, instead geometric patterns were used to create an impression of unending repetition to represent the infinite nature of God. We also see these patterns in Tudor carvings, Elizabethan knot gardens, and intricate panelled wooden floors in French châteaux. Slightly closer to our own time, we find gorgeous Minton encaustic floor tiles that adorn many a Victorian hallway. featuring amazing patterns made up of triangles and squares.

It seems that geometrics are very at home on the floor as these designs lend themselves very well to statement rugs. The 3D cube effect appears to be very popular at the moment, as do other simple tessellating shapes. These simpler designs will not dominate a room, but will add a hint of contemporary elegance. There are also, however, some amazing bright abstract geometric rugs available now, which will hold their own as the key element of a contemporary decorating scheme. Scion’s Kaleido rug and Sonya Winner’s Prism Rectangle rug are perfect for a big, bold, burst of colourful geometric style.

Clarke and Clarke also have some great fabrics. Many of their fabric collections combine an eclectic mix of florals, stripes, weaves and geometrics to great effect. My particular favourite at the moment is their new Chateau collection, which they say is inspired by the designers favourite Parisian hotel. This collection skilfully combines a fretwork style geometric and a smaller diamond pattern with a sophisticated animal print, a woven zigzag, small dobby weave, smart stripes and a wonderful rococco damask.

The Art of Perfect Picture
Placement
Your Lifestyle Magazine’s Interior Designer explains how to hang your artwork like a professional. I love artwork, without it, I think that walls look a little bare. Whether it’s a large canvas, photograph or a collection of framed prints, anything you hang on the wall will immediately personalise your room.
contemporary abstract in a traditional setting or an eighteenth century oil painting in a modern room, if anything, the juxtaposition can be fresh and exciting. Any large singular piece of artwork can be a real focal point and can even be the starting point of a colour scheme. Alternatively, you may choose a group of smaller pictures with a common theme to add interest to an empty wall.
Choosing the artwork is the first step. The only rule to guide this decision is that you must love it. There is no reason why you cannot hang a
A single canvas looks great over a sofa – but don’t be tempted to hang it too high – a hand width gives enough space between the top of the sofa and the bottom of the canvas.

Framed prints from ÂŁ28, www.tartanandzebra.com. The mix of black and white and coloured prints are brought together by their common theme. Choosing the style of the frame is the next consideration. I believe that prints and watercolours should have a mount in addition to the frame. This will give the image more impact. A coloured image will benefit from a plain white or off white mount, however if the image is black and white, then you could consider a colour. When framing watercolours, I would also normally opt for non-reflective glass. It is more expensive, but in my opinion, definitely worth the extra cost. A large canvas should have a large frame to give it importance and to make the image really stand out, a wooden or canvas slip can be used inside the frame. A good picture framer will have a large range for you to choose from. Picture lights are another thing you may like to consider. There is a huge range available for all budgets. I really think that picture light brings out the best in a canvas, but I tend not to use these so often with pictures behind glass.

Now we have chosen the artwork and the frame, it is time to hang the picture. A very common mistake is hanging the picture too high. A good rule of thumb is to locate the artwork so
21
Your Home that the centre is approximately 57” to 60” from the ground. This may seem low, but this is an average person’s eye level. You should not have to look up at a painting or look down on it. If you are hanging a group of paintings, then the centre of the group should also be at the 57” to 60” height. Once you are confident about the final height of your artwork, it is a good idea to stick a little piece of masking tape to the wall to mark the top of the frame. Once this is in place, it is important to hold up the artwork by the wire and measure where the top of the wire comes to in relation to the top of the frame. This will tell you how far from the masking tape the hook needs to go. If it is a large heavy painting, I would use two hooks. In this case, you’ll need to hold the wire in two places to get an accurate measurement. Please remember, however, that whilst masking tape can be relatively low tack, I would always recommend sticking it and
pulling it off an item of clothing before you use it. This will reduce it’s stickiness and reduce the risk of damaging the wallpaper or paint surface. It is vital to consider the weight of a piece of artwork before hanging. A really heavy picture will need fixing with a screw and rawl plug. I find that the hammer-in brass picture hooks are great for hanging light and medium weight pictures. Double hooks typically can take up to 5kg. If you are knocking into brick, you will need the hardened steel picture pins with the brass heads. The little plastic hard wall hooks with three pins area great for very particularly hard walls. Arranging a group of smaller pictures seems daunting, but creating a professional looking arrangement isn’t necessarily as tricky as it seems.

A series of coordinating abstracts hung as a formal grid. hundreds of unwanted holes in the wall!
A group of prints with the same size and shape frames can look great hung as a formal grid or a group of differently sized and shaped frames can make an interesting composition. A fool-proof method of hanging a group is to lay out a large sheet of paper on the floor and arrange your pictures on that. I always try to achieve a fairly uniform gap between them so that you create a slightly spaced out jigsaw effect. Once you have a composition you are happy with, you can draw around the frames to create a template. The next stage is to measure the distance from the picture wire to the top of the frame when it is taught and then mark this measurement on each rectangle you have drawn, at the centre. The whole piece of paper can then be lightly tacked to the wall with decorator’s masking tape and the picture hooked can be knocked straight through the paper – when it is ripped away – hey presto! This method may sound labour intensive but it will save you knocking
This method of grouping pictures works especially well for family photographs. Many people often ask me how and where to hang their photographs. I often recommend the staircase wall. This great space works well as a family gallery. Start at the bottom and the photographs can zig zag in groups up the stairs as the collection grows. During my twenty year long career in interior design it has never ceased to amaze me how many people have all sorts of beautiful artwork and framed photographs wrapped in bubble wrap and stored away because they are unsure of where and how to hang it. If this describes you, maybe it’s time to dig out the hammer and tape measure and get hanging. You’ll get far more pleasure from them when they are on the walls!

The Solution The first visit provided Peta with ideas of what customer wanted to achieve using their existing furniture and pull together a mood board with colours and finishes to help the customer to visualise the look. The colour was chosen using metallic’s as a base for the scheme. Using their 7 coat paint system the pine furniture was stripped and re-surfaced giving the wood a new lighter look removing the orange effect of age. To give the furniture a contemporary twist the drawer fronts where painted in Sensual Silver and Crystal knobs replaced the pine ones. The walls and wardrobes where painted in the prettiest, palest grey which was taken through to the on-suite. The curtains and headboard matched using a darker grey with a silver thread running through fabric. The bedroom had been totally transformed, to the customers delight, and commented that “The room is

Over 35,000 feet of choice Comfortably nestled behind ASDA on New road in Kidderminster, Carters Furniture Store will breeze into this summer proudly celebrating its 40th anniversary. Opened in 1975, by John and June Carter on Comberton Hill, it quickly became apparent that the appetite for quality affordable furniture in and around the area greatly surpassed their initial expectations and it wasn’t long before the decision was made to search for much larger premises.
able to supply bespoke and made to measure furniture, the choice available is truly staggering and definitely one of the reasons the business has continued to be a success over such a long period of time. Another reason would be the ethos instilled in the staff by John and June, whereby they are encouraged to promote a comfortable and friendly shopping experience where you won’t be hassled, pushed or forced into a sale. Instead, you will find yourself able to peruse the shop at your convenience with knowledgeable and experienced sales assistants on hand to aid your decisions and alleviate your dilemmas.
The business was relocated to its current canal side location in 1982, but due to overwhelming demand this still wasn’t enough space to cope and in 1988 the beds were separated from the furniture and displayed in a brand new showroom just around the corner on New Road.
Where to next? Never standing still, Carters will be celebrating its 40th anniversary with the launch of a brand new Ecommerce website. Showcasing as much of their furniture as possible whilst making it all available to purchase 24/7 from the discomfort of your current sofa!
The remainder of the company specialising in Sofas and Suites , Dining sets , Bedroom Furniture and giftware continued to grow in size throughout the 90’s and into the new millennium, resulting in renovations to the building and effectively doubling the warehouse capacity , extending the showroom and stock areas as well as updating the interior of the store, to maintain a grasp on the latest fashions and trends.
The new age of the internet and social media have seen the Carters brand splashed far and wide, resulting in the customer base expanding further and further from its origin in Kidderminster , spreading throughout the UK. Recently customers have come from as far afield as Wales, Devon and Liverpool to buy from the store.
It will come as no surprise to hear that after the continual extensions and expansions the combined coverage of showroom floor between the two stores is now well over 35,000 sq Feet !! With plans to make it even bigger in the future!
In the past 40 years a lot has changed, competitors have come and gone, recessions have waxed and waned, styles have been forgotten and returned, but the core belief at Carters has always remained the same. We will offer you a huge choice of great quality furniture and with our Price Promise , WE WILL NOT BE BEATEN ON ANY LIKE FOR LIKE QUOTE !! Come in to celebrate our 40th anniversary with us, and see for yourself why the counties largest independent furniture store is also one of the longest established family run businesses in the area.
Where does the success come from? Big name brands have always been associated with Carters, from GPLAN to SHERBOURNE, Willis & Gambier to ALSTONS, LAZYBOY to SUTCLIFFE, dealing with some of the best suppliers of furniture in the world will always mean Carters is at the forefront of quality and design, but that isn’t all, as we maintain close relationships with many smaller local manufacturers, who are

Kitchen Lighting When we think about lighting our homes it is all too easy to neglect the kitchen area. We spend a lot of thought and effort into getting the lighting perfect for living room or bedrooms areas, only to choose something plain for our kitchen and dining spaces. Kitchens are often the heart of the household and need great lights that reflect this. With each passing year the lighting world produces a diversity of great kitchen lighting that is as attractive as it is functional. Listed below are the different types of kitchen lights available and some examples of how to get the best out of each style for your kitchen setting.
perfectly encompasses the industrial trend. PENDANTS When thinking about kitchen lighting the area in which you eat is just as important as the space in which you cook. Pendants are an appealing choice for dining areas as they are prone to giving off much more of a mood lighting effect. Pendants come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, so your options really are endless. In our showroom we have a space dedicated to pendants that we like to call our ‘Retro Area’. Just one example of the quirky fittings we have displayed there is a 3 light pendant from the ‘Academy’ collection by DAR lighting. Available in either a black or stainless steel finish with either a 3 or 5 light option the fitting gives an elegant finish perfect to hang above a tabletop or breakfast bar.
FLUORESCENTS Fluorescents have always been a staple of kitchen lighting, although often associated with basic designs that champion functionality over appearance. In recent years many lighting manufacturers have begun to reinvent this popular fitting, choosing to replace old school opaque diffusers with more stylish designs. Whether you want a simple accessory to your kitchens interior or would truly like to make a statement with your fluorescent the options are endless. For those looking for modernity the EL-10085 by ENDON is a great example of manufacturers combining functionality and style to provide high quality lighting that looks as good as it is efficient.
DOWNLIGHTS Alongside big statement pieces you might want to add some extra touches to your kitchens interior. One way of getting more illumination is to add downlights. Although perfectly fine as your kitchens sole source of light when used as accessories to statement pieces downlights are the perfect fitting. If you would like something a little different to the simple downlight style, Firstlight lighting offer a number of LED glass fittings that provide an elegant take on traditional downlights, experimenting in size and shape.
SPOTLIGHTS Spotlights make for great additions to kitchen and dining areas because of their versatility, guaranteeing both efficient task lighting and a diversity of choice when it comes to design. Many spotlights are adjustable which is beneficial for kitchen spaces as it allows for targeted lighting perfect for food prep. When choosing your spotlight you might want to follow trends and go for an industrial style fitting, providing a modern, urban feel to your kitchen space. The ‘Focus ‘spotlight collection manufactured by Searchlight lighting is a great example of this. Available in either a 1, 3 and 4 light option this fittings antique brass finish
As well as great ceiling lights there are a number of fantastic wall and under cabinet lights available to make your kitchen perfect. All of the lights mentioned (and many more) are all displayed in our Aldersley showroom and available to view on our website: www. lightingrus.co.uk.

Insurance is a product purchased usually for peace of mind, however do we review our insurance cover and sums insured every time we renew?
• • •
The cheapest price doesn’t always mean you have the correct level of cover? Computer generated quotations make assumptions that are not always correct.
Would you like a more personal approach? Would it be beneficial if someone could visit your home to establish your exact requirements, conduct a marketing exercise across a panel of reputable insurers and importantly tailor a policy to suit your needs?
Some common problems people have experienced are:• • • •
Work from home, but have not told their insurer Items away from the home are not covered, or have different limits to main home Security warranties are not understood Property left unoccupied – not knowing the clauses
Valuables such as jewellery/art/collections need to be specified Unlimited cover, but there are single article limits they are unaware of Accidental damage cover, but this is limited to certain items only Underinsurance, so clauses are applied where by only a percentage of a claim is paid

James Swinburne Food for thought – the entrepreneur elevating street food to new heights James Swinburne is one of the founders of the successful Digbeth Dining Club – an awardwinning street food event in Birmingham. He’s now replicating the events in Codsall, much to everyone’s delight. He tells Jayne Howarth about his foodie vision.
It builds on the success of the pair’s Birmingham venture, where every week hundreds of people turn up to Spot*light in Lower Trinity Street to choose dishes from artisan traders who cook fresh, tasty grub to order. The roster changes every week, so visitors can enjoy a range of cuisine, from vegan burgers and desserts to 28-day aged beef burgers, and from Mexican, Greek, South African and Thai food to delicious crepes and waffles – there’s always plenty to get your teeth into.
He’s helped to create the UK’s best street food event – and now Wolverhampton’s James Swinburne is making sure people in leafy South Staffordshire can appreciate this most urban of concepts. With Jack Brabant, he founded the awardwinning Digbeth Dining Club, a weekly street food event that takes place in the creative, hip quarter of Birmingham.
“Digbeth Dining Club is all about the quality of street food,” says James, who works as sales director at Willenhall-based PBR Abrasives. “We have over 40 traders on our books and provide all our traders with regular gigs all over the Midlands. We also have a very strong roster of DJs who know exactly what music is needed to accompany the food.
Forget what you think about this type of cuisine. We’re not talking about greasy burgers and dodgy kebabs that are usually eaten after a night on the town – this is artisan, quality, homemade dishes that just happens to be prepared in a mobile catering unit and not a diner or restaurant. Thanks to the efforts of Jack and James, people across the Midlands are learning just how good street food can be.
“The combination of the two provides a unique atmosphere that we believe is hard to replicate. Over the last few months we have seen a few people try and imitate our model but it just inspires us to make ours better and stronger. It really is an event for people of all ages.”
And foodies – make a note in your diaries, for the Digbeth Dining Club will be returning to Codsall on Sunday, May 1, following its successful debut in December and follow up event in March.
James and 33-year-old Jack, who works as a freelance cameraman and video producer, came up with the idea after enjoying street food events in Camden and East London.
The Codsall event, organised in conjunction with the Village Coffee & Bakery, will feature 13 food traders and diners will be able to enjoy their food with some cocktails, craft beer and lager, and speciality coffees.
They decided to bring the idea to Birmingham in 2012 – and the idea has gradually grown and evolved over the years. “We put our own spin on it and added music
40
Your Rising Stars to the mix with well-serviced bars and that was how DDC was born,” says James.
increased footfall in the area,” he said. “Our last two events have been a huge success and we are looking forward to building something in the area for everyone to be proud of and enjoy the experiences.”
“In the early days we had three traders, two very poor gazebos and only around 50 people attending with rain dripping off the sides.
Bringing people together through good food is just one aspect he loves.
“There were many dark, wet evenings with a few people eating a burger in the cold. Things have come a long way since those days.”
“The best part of the job is organising events and bringing people together through food and music,” he says.
He admits it has been a slow process to build up the brand – but he wouldn’t have it any other way.
“We also get a lot of satisfaction working with independents. Most of our traders are couples, family or very good friends, so it’s nice in a world of large corporate enterprise to see so many self-employed independents making a go of it.
“[There was] very little return from our first three years of trading but business takes time to develop and best not to be rushed,” says James. It may essentially be a hobby for them, but the pair’s persistence has paid off: since launching DDC, they have won the British Street Food Awards’ best event category in 2013 and 2014, and are taking their brand out of the city centre. There is an established street food market in Kings Heath, Birmingham, and it is also setting up an event at Coventry Cathedral a week after Codsall.
“I also like the mix of people we have at our events. We could have a group of four young lads and then a group of six young girls or a work office outing of over forties. In one case we had a group with three generations from 20 up to 80. It’s an event all the family can enjoy. There really is no limit.” For details about Digbeth Dining Club, visit www.digbethdiningclub.co.uk
Not surprisingly, they have also developed a loyal following of people who are looking for a good food fix every week.
Digbeth Dining Club returns to the Village Coffee & Bakery in Codsall on Sunday, May 1. There will be 13 traders, including Bournville Waffle Co, The English Indian, Low ‘n’ Slow, and Bare Bones Pizza, plus vendors selling cocktails, craft lagers and beers, specialist coffee and cakes from the bakery. To complement the food fest, Digbeth Dining Club’s DJs will be playing a great selection of funk, soul, hip hop, reggae, dub and electronic, while children will be kept entertained with magic shows and face painting.
James says he was pleased that the Codsall events have gone well so far.
The event kicks off at 11am and ends at 7pm.
“It’s all about building community spirit and allowing local independents to benefit from

Cocktail Recipes
Hi I’m Luke Bensley from Stourbridge, UK. I have spent the last two years working at the Lyttelton arms in Hagley. The three years previous I was working as a ski instructor and chef at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary, Canada.
“Don’t waste time dwelling on past mistakes, pick your self up and look to the future” Hey my name is Matthew Drake, I’m from Christchurch, New Zealand and for the past two years I’ve been working at the Lyttelton Arms in Hagley.
I became a bar tender on my return to the UK and since then have fallen in love with the cocktail world. Not just for the variety in tastes but also techniques used by different bartenders across the world.
I’ve developed a passion for making cocktails and even though we have an extensive menu here, I have started to create my own shaken, stirred and built drinks and have come to Love being a bartender for its never ending opportunities to learn and shape yourself into being better at what we do everyday! After I leave England I will return home to further myself behind the bar and hope to reunite with Luke and own a bar of our design in the near future. At the moment my favourite cocktail would have to be one of the very oldest classics, an Old Fashioned. Woodford reserve Bourbon stirred with sugar, orange peel and Angostura bitters ( with a few original changes).
I started out learning the menus we offer here at the Lyttelton and from there have taken it upon myself to create not only my own drinks, but also my own home made bitters, tinctures and infusions. My favourite cocktail is a smoked sweet Manhattan made with Woodford reserve, sweet vermouth, sugar syrup, orange peal, chocolate and Angostura bitters, stirred over ice and smoked with hickory. Over the past months both Matt and I have created an instagram and Facebook page called the_all_chemists were we post photos and receipts of our own creation and spins on classics from the ages. Here’s to the future and all that happens!!!!

Seasonal Produce for Healthy Sunshine Lunches This issue’s recipes are bang on season! Now is a fantastic time for everything green. The highlight is asparagus season of course, but we also have the last of the spring greens and the first of the summer salad leaves. Fish and seafood are plentiful now, I’m suggesting sardines in case you get the chance to fire up the barbecue. And with Wimbledon approaching I’ve been thinking of simple but different things to do with strawberries.

Your
Sardines with Courgettes and Lightly Pickled Spring Vegetables
• • •
These sardines make a delicious and attractive lunch when combined with a colourful selection of lightly pickled vegetables. In this recipe I’ve fried the sardines but they’re ideal for the barbecue, just omit the seasoned flour and lightly oil before grilling. For a more substantial meal you could add some simply boiled potatoes. Late-season Jersey Royals with some butter and chives would be perfect.
Remove the hard parts of the asparagus stalks (bend the stalk gently and it will break where it becomes tender). Blanch the asparagus and French beans in boiling water for about 2 minutes then cool quickly under running water, or a bowl of iced water. Slice the carrots, shallot and radishes into very thin discs. Finely slice the mushrooms and the chilli (if using). Remove the seeds from the cucumber using a teaspoon and slice into fine strips.

In a saucepan boil the vinegar, water, sugar and salt then take off the heat, add the vegetables and leave for 10 minutes. Meanwhile slice the courgettes, dust in seasoned flour and fry gently in olive oil until golden brown. Set the courgettes aside, dust the sardines in the same flour and cook in the same oil until the skin is crispy. This should take about 3 minutes each side.
6 sardines, cleaned and gutted (remove the heads if you’re squeamish!) a little olive oil 2 courgettes flour for dusting, seasoned with salt and pepper one carrot, one shallot, a few radishes, a quarter of a cucumber half a red chilli (if you fancy some extra heat) a few mushrooms a small handful of your favourite herbs (parsley and dill are good) 1 lemon 250ml rice wine vinegar
Add the herbs to the pickling liquor a few seconds before removing the vegetables. Serve the sardines on the courgettes with the vegetables as a side dish along with a few wedges of lemon.

Asparagus Quiche
•
For the quintessential British lunch, how about a traditional quiche showcasing locally-grown asparagus? Asparagus is famously grown in the Vale of Evesham, where the Asparagus Festival is held between 23rd of April and the 21st of June, so you could combine a day trip with the chance to get your hands on this fine local delicacy. Keeping to the ‘green’ theme, I’ve served the quiche with a mayonnaise made using watercress, which is also at it’s best this time of year.
• • •
Method Break the woody stalks off the asparagus, plunge into a pan of boiling water for just 2 minutes, remove and cool under running water, or in a bowl of iced water. Slice half of the asparagus spears into 2 lengthways, chop the remainder into 1 cm pieces. Chop the bacon and onion into small pieces and fry in a little butter until browned. Distribute the bacon, onion and chopped asparagus in the pastry case. In a bowl whisk the eggs, egg yolk, milk and cream. Stir in most of the cheese, keeping some aside to sprinkle on top, season with paprika and salt then pour the liquid gently into the pastry case.
Serves 4 as a starter or light lunch Ingredients • • • • • • • •
50g grated cheese (Gruyere or Emmental are ideal) 1 tsp paprika 1 tsp salt Butter for frying
1 ready made pastry case, 8” / 20cm 300g asparagus (weight before trimming) 2 rashers of smoked bacon (optional) Half an onion 2 eggs 1 egg yolk 75ml full fat milk 75ml double cream
Bake for 45 minutes or until the centre is just set. Arrange the remaining asparagus on top of the quiche, sprinkle with the remaining cheese then grill for a minute or two just to brown the top.

Individual Strawberry ‘Cheescakes’
Method
This super-easy dessert is not strictly a cheesecake but it combines all the key elements so it’s just as tasty and can be prepared in just a few minutes.
Crumble the biscuits. Beat the cream until it is quite thick. In a separate bowl, beat together the cream cheese, sugar, lemon juice and vanilla extract until smooth. Add the cream and mix well. In clear glasses, start with a strawberry in the bottom then layer the cream cheese mix, a layer of biscuit, more strawberries and repeat. Finish with some strawberries on the top and leave in the fridge for at least 2 hours to firm up. Decorate with tiny mint leaves if you have some.
Serves 4 Ingredients • • • • • • • •
250g strawberries, halved and cored 12 crumbly biscuits of your choice (gingernuts are good!) 200g cream cheese 100ml double cream 40g caster sugar Half a teaspoon vanilla extract Juice of a quarter of a lemon A few small mint leaves (optional)
I hope that’s given you some inspiration – I’m off to get out into the garden, find some healthy greens to cook and dust down the barbecue. Here’s hoping we get many opportunities to eat al-fresco this year – wishing you a fun and successful season’s cooking!

Royston and Nick’s Diary Straight from the party, the guys travelled through the night to the airport, where they flew off to Marrakech for the weekend. Royston has always wanted to visit this vibrant and exotic city and stay at the beautiful La Mamounia Hotel. So, they had two days marvelling in this historic and energetic atmosphere. Enjoying cocktails at sunset, days relaxing by the pool in the hotel`s walled garden and followed by browsing in the markets, it really was a birthday to remember. In desperate need for a bit of sunshine, Nick and Royston decided to spend 5 days in Dubai. Checking into the famous Burj Al Arab Jumeirah, this luxury hotel offers extraordinary customer service for their guests, perfect for nick and Royston who just wanted complete relaxation from their hectic lifestyles. Massages in the stunning spa and amazing food in their world class restaurants soon recharged the batteries and they were off partying again. This time with local lad Carl Addison, who now lives in Dubai and with their friends from London, they soon discovered all the hot spots this marvellous city offers.
Royston and Nick have again been asked to be Guest Stylists for the Global leaders L’Oréal. They travel around the UK to educate and inspire all hairdressers in Wedding hair and Hair Up, which is one area they are renown for within the industry, by clients and celebrities alike. Hairdressing is still such a passion in their lives, that it is always a pleasure to share their knowledge and they love it!!!
After such an incredible time, they are off again very soon!!! Back at home, the filming of `The Real Housewives of Cheshire` series three is in full swing! With fabulous new cast members, the fun, fights and frolics are more sensational than ever. As regular guests on the show, Nick and Royston are not allowed to share their secrets, but they can promise some electtifing TV!!!
Wife of footballer Wes Brown and star of `The Real Housewives ` Leanne Brown has just celebrated her 40Th Birthday with a fabulous fancy dress party. The theme was the famous nightclub Studio 54 and Nick and Royston couldn`t resist to go as The Village People. After fighting over the Red Indian costume, Royston won and Nick took the American Cop where they completely pulled off the look! Friends and co -stars joined them at a Manchester club where Leanne looked breath taking and this very special lady really was the belle of the ball. Everyone had a blast and the festivities went late into the night.
Royston`s birthday weekend was kicked off with The Shrewsbury School Ball. Royston Blythe Shrewsbury were one of the evening`s sponsors and Royston hosted a table of 12 guests, including friends and clients from the Shrewsbury salon. This year`s theme was Alice in Wonderland and the room looking magical, the magic continued into the evening`s entertainment, where a hypnotist mesmerized the audience including Nick (or so we thought!).

Why I Love My Job ‘I love my job because, well what man wouldn’t want to brew beer’ - Dean Cartwright He’s from a family of Black Country craft bakers – but Dean Cartwright has gone on to use yeast in a very different, and just as tasty, way. The founder of the Pig Iron Brewing Company, Dean first got into craft beer when he lived in Cleveland, Ohio, as a young man, but on his return from the States, his passion for beer bubbled away, slowly maturing over the years.
He later went on to another club at the Waterfront, called Maya, but when the recession took hold, Dean decided to get out of the bar business. Instead, he decided to use his knowledge of baking and yeast science, learned at the prestigious College of Food in Birmingham, and combine it with his knowledge of pubs.
He met Justine, to whom he has been married for 20 years, and opened his first bar – the Reef, in Stourbridge – on the day the first of their four children were born.
It was then that he and Justine, who has a background in finance and banking, came up with Pig Iron Brewing Company. And the company produces a bostin’ pint.
64
Your Jobs “We are very proud of our Black Country roots and as we were based on the old Round Oak Steel works site we wanted a name that would be synonymous with the area,” says Dean. “Pig Iron was so called because when the smelted ore came out of the furnace into the mould the furnace men noticed the mould looked like a sow suckling her piglets and so it was called Pig Iron.” Dean discovered his love of brewing after buying a second-hand kit online from Brewmeister in Aberdeen – the company that is famous for brewing the highest strength beer in the world, snake venom that comes in at a whopping 67% proof – which was selling it to upgrade. “I went on the nine-hour journey and spent a week with them on the brew kit seeing how it worked and I transported the kit on a pick up and trailer back to Hagley,” he says. In December 2014, Dean decided to follow his heart and pursued his craft beer passion full-time. It has since expanded, taking on Tim Hibbert as a trainee brewer two days a week and Pete Walker, who is sales and marketing director. The brewery now produces five core beers: Pig Iron Blonde 3.8%, Best Bitter 4%, an IPA 4.2% (Indian Pale ale), APA 4.5% ( American pale ale), and an EPA 4.2% (English pale ale).
“We use high quality malt from the oldest floor malting house in the country, Warminster Maltings, which has another connection as my mother was from Wootton Bassett in Wiltshire, not far from the malthouse,” says Dean. “I love my job because, well what man wouldn’t want to brew beer?” It hasn’t all been plain sailing, however. It took until the eighth big brew before the team got the flavours right. “Although it has been tough to get the beer right, and we probably threw over 1,000 litres down the drain, it was because of our vision to get it right. “We now feel we have a product to be proud of and it is in over 60 local pubs, clubs and golf courses.” The story is only just beginning for the Pig Iron Brewery, though: it is hoping to open its first pub soon and perhaps have a second by the end of 2016. Raise a glass to success!

if checking the quality of the bedlinen and toiletries before committing to staying the night.
It all started when my husband announced his idea to visit a dogs’ home with our younger son. The pair of them had wanted a canine friend for three years and the campaign had been relentless. Our experience of dogs to date had been non-too promising: Wellie, a haughty, handsome Viamarana is a regular guest. His parents were more decorated with medals than any human I know: father “Supreme Champion of Crufts” and mother “Best in Breed.” His real name (of course ) is more chokingly stuffed with syllables in a Ponsonby-Smythe kind of way, but thankfully he answers to “Wellie”.
From then on, Wellie occupies the two prime spots in the house – in front of the aga and before the wood-burning stove. My husband spends the entire time barking orders; “Can someone move Wellie …(and other mutterings)…..I’m trying to cook here?” As we wave goodbye at the end of the weekend, I remark that my husband, the self-professed dog-lover doesn’t seem all that fond of Wellie. His reply: “Well, I just don’t enjoy feeling inferior in my own house!”
Wellie arrives on our doorstep ahead of his owners and, without so much as a wag or a sniff of acknowledgement to his hosts, slinks off up the stairs to inspect the bedrooms – as
There was one memorable time however when Wellie’s surroundings suited him perfectly. Having slid our way on our behinds through rivulets of mud from Broadway Tower to
66
Your Diary of a Country Lady Broadway High Street on New Year’s Day, we were struck with the urge to have afternoon tea in the Lygon Arms. Fourteen of us were drenched and besmirched: the only presentable member of our party was Wellie whom we sent in before us to butter up the butler. This he did with alacrity – we were welcomed to a table (albeit in a back room) where we draped sodden clothes on every radiator and tucked in to tea. His owner later commemorated the event with this sketch :
Just as were leaving, I mentioned another dog that had caught my eye on the website – a border collie cross from Ireland. She was brought out and immediately planted muddy paws on my son’s shoulders, her tail wagging as fast as bees’ wings. My son ran with her, then told her to sit which she duly did, gazing up with a “Please love me” expression. The only slight problem was that I had not intended to have a dog just then. It was three days before Christmas, we had not so much as a ‘pig’s ear’ of equipment and our garden is open to neighbours and road. My husband, with inimitable charm decided to bolster his case with these words: ‘Just like I knew you were THE ONE, I know that this dog is THE ONE!” Really? Should I be flattered? Did I need rescuing? Anyone who believes their partner lacks complimentary patter, be thankful that their commitment is not likened to choosing a hound!
Back to the story. The dogs’ home my husband had come up with for viewing stray dogs was in Kennilworth. I appreciated the pun yet questioned the distance and so proposed Far Forest Dog Rescue – slightly closer to home and of which I had heard good reports. I announced that I would come too “just to look”. I now know that visiting a dogs’ home with this intention is synonymous with going to the pub for “just the one”. It simply doesn’t happen. Our first canine introduction was with ‘Dudley’ a terrier cross. With beautiful caramel brushstrokes over his face and a pointy smacking tail, we were rather taken with Dudley. One lap of the field whereby he barely pulled on the lead and was courteous to other dogs, we were pretty much smitten. Only the name dinted the appeal – that and the latent killer instinct that the word ‘terrier’ brought to the party. Our hens might not be so smitten.
Unexpectedly then, we ended up with Hattie – a dolly-mixture of a dog with definite whiffs of collie but thereafter who knows ? Hazarded guesses from dog-walkers I’ve had the pleasure to meet have included akita, labrador and Basil Brush.

Your Diary of a Country Lady
been plucked and eaten. No hen has fallen off her perch just yet but I fear for them daily. They must be wondering what on earth happened to their idyll of reeking havoc in the garden in the pursuit of juicy worms and the perfect dustbath.
So far so good. Hattie has brought extra elements of joy and togetherness to the family. Children who would normally disappear to their rooms after school and appear when they heard the dinner bell (a mortar-shell souvenir from Afghanistan brought home by army officer husband - I heard other wives received diamonds!) now turn up in the kitchen to play with Hattie and do homework with feet tucked under her belly. In the first fortnight of having her, I received more vitamin D than the preceding four months thanks to daily hikes over Clent and playing ball in the park.
So what to do? Friends have proferred helpful suggestions: use of water spray as a deterrent and lying on top of Hattie whilst watching the hens, thus providing the message that only her master has the power and right to kill. One friend reported losing a hen to his neighbour’s dog . The owner then turned up and walloped the dog with the dead chook! This worked a treat apparently and no further raids have occurred. However it is not a course of action that I can ever imagine adopting!
There is only one tiny yet significant fly in the ointment: Hattie’s zeal to be acquainted with the hens. When on a lead, her body quivers in anticipation, eyes fixed on the affronted squawking brood. On three occasions she has slipped our grasp; no amount of wild boar treats or frankfurter sausages have distracted her from her frantic race to reach them. Feathers have regularly flown. Infact feathers have regularly
So here we are with the most joyful addition to our family: the waggiest, most playful, loyal and loving dog that one could ever wish for – with the prey-drive of a semi-starved hyena!

Summer Style for All Occasions by Emma Russell –Stylissimo, Image Consultancy, www.stylissimo.co.uk As the calendar starts to fill with those all important dates, Weddings, Christenings, Garden Parties or even Ladies Day at the Races thoughts turn to the look you want to create ensuring that you look and feel stylish for such a special occasion.
of the dress’s hemline creating a sleek pulled together look. Orange is a big colour trend this season, a bold vivacious colour not for the faint hearted so always best to compare the colour to your skintone in the shop first by holding it up to your face to see what impact the shade of orange has on your skin tone. Does it highlight blemishes or blend into your skintone? Always look for a colour to enhance and compliment your natural colouring, avoid shades which create dark circles or emphasise pigmentation.
Occasion wear can be daunting to many, not knowing the best styles of dresses to suit your body shape, what size hat or fascinator is appropriate and do people still match their handbags to their shoes? Most race courses now offer detail online about their dress code and etiquette when it comes to the correct hem lengths and hat diameters so its always worth checking this out online prior to your shopping trip.
The new Studio 8 collection from Phase Eight is available online now and has a great collection of every day wear as well as some occasion pieces like this Pomona Dress £195 available at www.studio-eight.com
My top tip when it comes to choosing the right hat is, consider the style of the dress or outfit, think about the best shape and size of hat and obviously the colour. If you have chosen a simple uncluttered outfit this is best complimented by a medium to large hat. A flowing more romantic style dress requires a small neat hat to create balance. The width of the hat’s brim should not be wider than your shoulders and must be balanced by the height of the crown. Low crowns will make even the tallest lady look dumpy and short, so the rule is “the wider the brim the higher the crown!”
Pomona Dress £195
When choosing your outfits accessories the most stylish and complimentary look is to coordinate the colour of your dress with your hat, a common trap is to choose a hat in a neutral colour so that you can wear it again to help justify the cost. By matching your hat with the tone of your outfit you portray the illusion of being taller, shoes and bags can match but you can add to the illusion of height by also matching shoes to the colour

Style this dress with either the same colour hat if you are bold enough or a hat with elements of this colour within the design to tie the look together. As seen here from Catherine Clark www.catherineclarkhats.co.uk

His & Hers Wedding Accessory
Checklist
There are so many things to buy and arrange for your wedding that it’s easy to overlook a few of those wedding accessories. It’s the small details that make your wedding unique and special so start to make a list of all the things you think you both might need and start researching and buying items well in advance so you have everything in place for the big day.
your gown and overall look of your wedding style. It is worth having a practise with your chosen hair style and hair accessory so that you know not only how it will look on the day but also what extra pins or fastenings you might need. Wedding jewellery needs to be sourced and when you know what shape, and in particular, what neckline your gown is then you can experiment with the length and style of necklaces, earrings and bracelets.
Wedding Accessories for the Bride Obviously the most important item on any Bride’s shopping list is her wedding dress but when it’s bought you need to think about what else to add to your ensemble to complete your bridal outfit?
Bridal lingerie is essential to completing your outfit and it is very important to try it under your gown to make sure it fits well, it is not on show, and is enhancing your curves nicely. Take care to make the necessary adjustments to the lingerie such as tightening bra straps etc in advance
Starting at the top, you will need to select a veil, headpiece, or hair accessories to complement

so that you can be sure of being comfortable throughout the day. It is worth thinking about an extra layer such as simple complementary bolero jacket or shrug to slip on if you think it might get cooler in the evening. At the very least pack a pashmina or shawl so that you can drape it over your shoulders in case you feel chilly.
Ladies Designer Wear
Your first choice for mother of the bride and groom, cruise and evening wear. Stocking stunning outfits and matching accessories from British and International designers. Jan and her team are always on hand to ensure you look your best for any occasion.
Shoes of course are important and again it would be wise to try these on with the gown so any alterations can be made to the length if necessary. Perhaps think of taking a change of shoes as it can be a long day in heels. Take a pair of sparkly flip flops if you feel that your feet might need a rest or if you want a bit more freedom on the dance floor. Conversely take a pair of bridal willies if you are planning an outdoor or barn style wedding reception.

It is a good idea to take a small clutch bag for those wedding day essentials. Take your basic make up items for a quick touch up and reapplication of lipstick. Take your mobile too just in case you need to make any last minute arrangements or if there’s any problems or hold ups. And of course a pack of tissues so that you can mop up any tears of joy before you streak your mascara! Wedding Accessories for the Groom
to your outfit. Make sure that you don’t forget to wear your watch as timings on your wedding day are crucial.
For the Groom the wedding outfit is a rare opportunity to really dress up and an even rarer opportunity to accessorize! After all you want to look great on your day and create a style that gives you a unique look.
A buttonhole of course is essential and needs to match your Bride’s bouquet. It might be worth asking your florist to make sure that there are extra pins available to make sure that it is secure. Also ask a friend or family member to help you put it on your jacket. Make sure that male family members, best man and ushers etc all have their button holes and if possible oversee this so you all have them positioned in the same place. Do consider a waistcoat as it is an important and formal occasion. When you take your jacket off for the meal you will still look smart in a tailored waistcoast and will maintain a sense of formality while allowing you to relax and move a bit more freely.
After the suit has been selected, collect other dress items to match the theme of the wedding. Discuss with your Bride what colour the bridesmaids are wearing and choose a tie or cravat to tie in with the colour scheme. Add a touch of class by sporting a matching handkerchief in your top pocket – handy for dabbing away any dampness from your eyes. If you are going for a dress shirt (and after all this is the perfect occasion to wear one) then choose suitable cufflinks to add a special touch
74
Your Wedding Luckily your suit will have pockets so that you can pop in various items you might need on the day but take care not to overload them as you don’t want to look bulky and spoil your tailored look. Consider a small hold-all that you can tuck under your chair or give to one of your friends who you can trust to make sure it ends up where you need it. Unless you are a confident speaker and have committed your speech to memory, you will need a copy of your speech in your jacket pocket. Also remember your list of people to thank as it is your job to make sure all the necessary people are appreciated. You will also need to make sure that the gifts for the bridesmaids, ushers etc are all delivered to the reception venue and placed by the top table for delivery during your speech. And of course we come to perhaps the most important accessory of the day, the wedding rings! Don’t forget to take them with you to the ceremony venue. It may be that you have a decorative ring cushion or box so remember to take it too. Traditionally the best man or ring
bearer will carry the rings so ensure that you have them tucked safely away on your person so that you can hand them to the right person for safekeeping until they are required.

Plenty to
plant out hardy Geraniums and the coloured leaves of the Heuchera.
Easter was early this year, making us think that the season is further advanced than it actually is. Cold nights in April and May can soon set back tender plants put out too soon. There’s plenty to plant out and do in the vegetable plot at the moment. Plant smaller quantities little and often to keep a steady supply of veg for the kitchen. Most garden centres sell packs of vegetable plants so it’s easy to plant out a few every fortnight as well as sowing seeds of radish, spring onions and basil little and often.
Summer bedding can be planted outside from the end of May onwards, so long as we aren’t getting any late frosts. Antirrhinums, Asters and Lobelia first, leaving Marigolds, Begonias, Impatiens and Geraniums until the beginning of June if necessary. Water well to get established, then, feed fortnightly and dead head regularly.
Cover fruit bushes with netting to stop the birds picking your fruit before you do. Spray fruit trees before flowers open and after fruit has set to keep bugs under control. Provado Fruit and Veg Bug Killer is a good insecticide, but unfortunately fungicides for edible crops have been removed from the market. Keep bushes watered where possible if it’s dry to discourage mildews and clear up any diseased foliage when seen.
Hoe borders frequently, preferably on a nice sunny day and any weeds that are beginning to get established will wilt and die off quickly; regular hoeing will also allow air into the top layer of soil and encourage root growth.
Tomato, Cucumber and Pepper plants should not be planted outside until the end of May and inside need some heat at night if temperatures are dropping low.
As the weather improves the grass will start growing and need cutting. Do a light cut first, gradually reducing the mower height over several cuts. Although the winter wasn’t particularly cold it was wet and if like my lawn yours has plenty of moss in it try the MO Bacter organic moss treatment. It can be applied to your lawn at any time from March through to September, it contains an organic fertilizer that releases over a 3 month period which digests the moss, greens the lawn and improves the soil. It leaves no unsightly black patches and scarifying is not necessary. I know it sounds too good to be true, but we’ve used it regularly over the last 3 or 4 years and the improvement in the lawn is much better than when using conventional treatments.
Watch out for slug damage on young herbaceous plants, and summer bedding such as Marigolds. Use slug pellets or one of the natural controls that are available. ‘Slug Gone’ is a relatively new product that is made from wool, its sold in pellet form which you put round the base of plants and once dampened its small fibres act as an irritant to slugs. Many herbaceous plants flower in their first year and there’s always a good selection available on our outdoor tables. The first batch of West Country Lupins should be ready now with their many vibrant colours they make a delightful splash of colour, along with the

The Only Way Is Up
If your borders are filling up nicely but you still hanker to add more interest in your garden – there’s only one way you can go, and that’s up.
a more intimate ambience to your outdoor space. Gazebos add welcome shade to seating areas and if planted with scented climbers will delight anyone who takes a few moments to relax in the garden.
Adding height to your garden (literally) lifts your eye to another layer of colour, texture and vibrancy, plus provides yet another focal point. However, don’t limit yourself to thinking just about planting trees or positioning climbers, such as clematis and honeysuckle, to creep up your perimeter fence or wall. Whether you have a very small outdoor space or a large garden, you can use height to help create a series of “rooms”.
Of course, adding height to your garden can also increase privacy. Trees and hedges can be used to block out less aesthetically pleasing views, while a trellis can disguise areas such as where the compost heap or bins are. Whatever you plan, the main thing to think about is scale – make sure your chosen structure is right for your plot. Too small and it will be lost; too big and it will overwhelm.
One very effective way to lift the eye is to add pergolas in strategic areas of the garden. Not only do these structures add architectural interest – ideal when you need visual stimulus after climbers have died down for the season – they also open more options for planting creeping plants. Position them over a seating area or over a walkway and you’ll instantly create

No Regrets Being a financial planner is so much more than the term suggests. I am often referred to as a decision partner because of the role I play in helping to sculpt my client’s lives into the shape they tell me they would like. This process takes much thought and planning but when it works there is nothing more satisfying than looking back and realising that everything has come together.
Anita Gatehouse Your Lifestyle’s Financial Expert
What will your regrets be? What has this got to do with Financial Planning? Everything. Whether we like it or not, money often sits at the centre of our decision making in life. A well thought out plan focused on your values and what is really important to you can help you achieve and lead a regret free life. Our aim is to help you identify what is truly important in life for you and then build a plan to get you there by nudging, reminding and cajoling you along the way. It never ceases to amaze me how many people I sit down with tell me how hard they work, how successful their business is but they have no plan of how it will improve their lives. That’s like buying a lottery ticket, winning a prize and then not bothering to cash it in!
I watched a really amazing interview by Marie Forleo with Bronnie Ware yesterday, which prompted me to write this article.
Bronnie is the author of the bestselling memoir, The Top Five Regrets of the Dying inspired by Bronnie’s experience as a carer for people at the end of their lives.
A life without regrets Sometimes people don’t realise that they’re sitting on enough for the rest of their lives and that they could reduce their load or even retire or they could begin to tick off some of those bucket list ideas. If you would like to find out what is possible for you, please get in touch by calling the number below. Our Second Opinion Service, provided at our cost, is a risk free way of seeing exactly how we can help.
The Five Regrets of the Dying The five regrets of the dying are: 1. I wish I had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me 2. I wish I hadn’t work so hard 3. I wish I had the courage to express my feelings 4. I wish I’d stayed in touch with my friends 5. I wish that I had let myself be happier
Don’t reach the end of your life and realise you never really lived it.

Take a Drive on the Edge
A piece of true American power will soon be available to purchase for the first time in the UK, sitting at the pinnacle of the Ford SUV range in the shape of the new Edge.
imminent collision, and Intelligent All Wheel Drive ensures any condition is handled with the due care along with Adaptive Steering which optimises the steering ratio to suit the conditions.
Initially introduced to North America in 2007, the model has consistently been a top seller in the 4x4 US market segment. Following its European debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2015, this gutsy vehicle has finally made its way across the pond to be Ford’s largest SUV yet and is soon to arrive at Evans Halshaw FordStore Wolverhampton.
Bigger is better in the US and the Edge doesn’t disappoint in that aspect, providing class-leading space with room for five adults and boot space of a massive 1,788 litres with the rear seats folded down. Despite its capabilities, the Edge also provides a refined interior display, with high-quality materials throughout, soft touch trims on the dashboard and centre console, high-gloss piano back switch surrounds and satin silver metal finishes on the door handles to the steering wheel.
Combining potent performance, cutting-edge styling and state-of-the-art technologies, the Edge is as much at home cruising down Route 66 as it is manoeuvring into a supermarket car park. Parking panic is avoided with the luxury of Active Park Assist to automatically steer the vehicle into a space, alongside a Rear View parking camera, whilst Active Noise Control and heated seats and steering wheel provide a comfortable journey for all occupants.
Available with a 2.0 litre TDCi engine, choices include an 180PS diesel engine with sixspeed manual transmission or 210PS bi-turbo diesel engine with six-speed PowerShift automatic transmission. With both engines achieving 48.7mpg on a combined cycle whilst emitting 149g/km of CO², the Edge manages to maintain impressive economy yet with powerful driving abilities. To find out more about the Ford Edge, visit the dealership at 57-73 Birmingham Road, Wolverhampton, West Midlands, WV2 3LS or call 01902 875 400. With safety being a key attribute of the Edge, features such as Blind Spot Information System and Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection account for hazards even if the driver misses them, plus the Lane Keeping Aid alerts the driver should their attention dwindle, to keep them within lane. Active City Stop automatically applies the brakes should the driver fail to respond to an
