Our House

The Speks are a six-piece traditional Irish music group for children. Hailing from Glasses Island (where everybody wears glasses!), musicians Quince, Naymon, Tommo, Pete, Ed and Rafferty perform nursery rhymes and sing-along songs set to acoustic Irish music. Recent winners of a prestigious Parents’ Choice award for their debut album, and featured regularly on RTÉ Junior and on radio stations for young people all over the US, the Speks’ shows are full of fun, singing and dancing, where everyone is invited to join in!

Booking

Best Behaviour

Book NOW. Tickets may be purchased by calling to the Box Office in person or by phoning our dedicated Box Office number 094 9028886.

Please remember: If you are late for a performance or workshop, you will be allowed in only if there is a suitable interval – otherwise you will disturb everyone else.

Tickets may be paid for by cash, credit card or cheque (cheques should be made payable to ‘The Linenhall Arts Centre’).

No food or drink is allowed into performances or workshops – it’s very distracting for those around you and can be very messy. Make sure the performance or workshop you are attending is suitable for your age – if it’s not, you will not really enjoy it and it’s not fair to the others taking part.

Film

When his eccentric old Aunt Eleanor bequeaths her seaside house to his parents, seven year-old Nathaniel discovers a cast of heroes and villains from children’s literature hiding in her book collection! But there is more – they are actually the original characters and are counting on Nat for protection, because if they leave the library they will disappear along with their stories! And unless Nat can learn to read, all these fairy tale characters will disappear forever. In a race against time and before his parents start to sell off the books, he must fight to save his new-found friends. A charming animated film with a message from Academy Award-nominated French animator, Dominique Monfery.

Eleanor's Secret

Workshop 2.00pm - 3.30pm COMMUNITY ARTS ROOM, LINENHALL DURATION: 1½ HOURS TICKETS: €6

Welcome! If you think RoolaBoola looks different this year, then you think right. We have slimmed down a little from previous years, in that we no longer have a selection of international shows. The sad fact is we just can’t afford them. But, and as you can see it’s a very big But, we still have loads of brilliant stuff for you to get involved in. As a matter of fact, this year we have the best workshops we’ve ever had. Have a look through and I bet you will find something you can’t wait to get stuck into, maybe even one of Maeve Clancy’s pop-up books. We like to think of this year’s RoolaBoola as a precious miniature, small but perfectly formed! Book now to ensure you get to be part of the fun.

A Big Thank You To our local County Councillors Henry Kenny, Michael Kilcoyne, Eugene McCormack, and Al O’Donnell, who gave extra support to RoolaBoola this year.
