Blackpool Windows and Solar Energy (BWSE) Is a family run business that has been supplying and fitting quality doors, windows and conservatories across the Fylde Coast and Lancashire for many years. The company has recently expanded into green energy conservation by including PV panels in its portfolio of products. David Williams, the proprietor of BWSE said ‘PV panels are fitted onto the roof of domestic and commercial properties and convert the suns energy into electrical energy which is the current that we use in our houses By generating this energy you can help power your own home and also receive a guaranteed feed in tariff from the

Government for the next 25 years and the tariff is index linked so will keep pace with inflation. It’s a fantastic way to beat the inevitable electricity bill rises and to also receive an income from the Government.

BWSE also continue to provide doors, windows and conservatories as well as PV panels so if you would like more information about any of these product please call us on 01253 821904.

We can take you through the initial design to the final installation and will ensure all your questions are answered so that you are fully aware of the system and requirements. We also complete all the paperwork to obtain the feed in tariff so that the whole process is easy and painfree’. Companies have to adhere to a strict accreditation process which provides reassurance to the customer that the work and system is being fitted to the correct standards. PV panels have already taken off in other parts of the country and demand has increased with the recent

announcements of price rises by the energy companies. Some forecasters predict the increase could be as high as 19% so it makes sense to be get ready now and not have to worry this winter.

There are no flashy salesman and no hard sell methods, we want our customers to be 100% happy with the quality, workmanship and price from Blackpool Windows Solar and Energy and most of our work comes from returning customers and recommends. Start making money today and install PV panels onto your roof, you’ll be glad you did.

CHARITY PARACHUTE JUMP FOR CANCER REASEARCH. My mum died of lung cancer in 1994; my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer at the young age of 30! and my cousin was diagnosed with ovarian cancer 5 years ago - in her mid-20’s! So as you can appreciate, this charity is close to my heart. I’m scared of heights and don’t particularly like flying, It’s the taking off and landing I don’t like. Anyway, I read an article which said that the Breast Cancer Campaign are organising “The Big Pink Jump” which is for volunteers to be sponsored to raise funds for the charity by taking part in a tandem parachute jump. I mentioned it to my sister, saying that it sounded fun but also very scary she promptly pledged a significant amount of sponsorship, and I had no option but to sign-up!

I am apprehensive but keep telling myself that its for an excellent cause as more and more sufferers are surviving breast cancer - For women diagnosed with breast cancer in 2001-2006, five year relative survival rates have reached 82% (England only) compared with only 52% thirty years earlier in 1971-75 (Source: Cancer Research UK.org). “The Big Pink Jump” is to be held on 01 October 2011, at the Black Knights Parachute Centre, Cockerham. Please take a moment to sponsor me. It’s really easy - you can donate online by credit or debit card at the following address:http://original.justgiving.com/ lynne-naylor All donations are secure and sent electronically to Breast Cancer Campaign. If you are a UK taxpayer, Justgiving will add an automatic 28% bonus to your donation at no cost to you. Please join me in supporting Breast Cancer Campaign and a fabulous cause!

FY7 when contacting advertiser.

Mention LINK-

For those not wishing to sponsor me electronically, but prefer the ‘old-fashioned’ method. There is also a paper sponsorship form on the counter of ‘Fylde Coast Kitchens, Bedrooms and Bathrooms’ on London Street. However, I must ask that anyone wishing to sponsor me this way, pass their sponsorship monies to the staff at the time of sponsoring. Thank you. More background about me..... I ran the Flora London Marathon in 2008 and raised over £1000 for the NW Air Ambulance; following this I posed for their 2009 ‘Bare in the Air’ Calendar (aka ‘Calendar Girls’ style) which again helped raise much needed funds I also regularly raise funds for the local hospice, my most recent events being The Blackpool Fun Run; the Illumathon and the 20th Beaverbrooks Bike Ride (aka the ‘Windmill Bike Ride’) Hope this helps. If you need anything alse, please let me know. Thank you Lynne

Fleetwood Town Football Club News by Derick Thomas Fleetwood Town are encouraging their fans of the future to get set for the 2011/12 campaign by offering tremendous deals on junior Season Tickets, with children under twelve eligible to get their Season Tickets completely free! This season, Town’s youngest fans can enjoy the benefits of being a Season Ticket holder for nothing provided they are accompanied by an adult. The free Memorial Stand season ticket is open to all youngsters under the age of 12 on 01/08/2011 and is eligible for all Blue Square Bet Premier games.

Fleetwood Town kick-off the Blue Square Bet Premier Campaign at Grimsby Town, where they won last season thanks to goals from Gareth Seddon and Nathan Pond. The Highbury faithful will not need to wait too long to see action as Micky Mellon’s host Darlington on Tuesday 16th August. Town took three points off the Quarkers on New Years’ Day at Highbury last season. A second home game follows immediately when Hayes & Yeading visit the Fylde coast and a road trip to Barrow follows.

Under 12’s season tickets are available for other areas of the ground - Highbury Stand £10 and the Parkside Stand £70.

The television cameras arrive in the port when Premier Sports TV show live action between Town and York City.

For those children who wish to upgrade to the Parkside Stand or Highbury Stand on match day will be asked to pay £1 once inside the ground.

The Bank Holiday fixture is will see new striker Andy Mangan return to his former club when the Cod Army take on Wrexham.

Any Season Tickets already sold to Under 12’s will be refunded accordingly. Older children who are Under 16 can enjoy league Season Ticket for just £95 in the Memorial Stand. Season Tickets are also available for other areas of the ground and for Under 19s. Chief executive Steve Curwood added : “We are particularly proud of our our Under 12 scheme and believe it offers tremendous value for money to our loyal supporters with children.

Following on from PS Dave Blights article last month, I am delighted to have been posted into Neighbourhood Policing at Fleetwood – Dave has worked tirelessly to produce results that so many of us want – a reduction in crime, a reduction in anti social behaviour (asb) and increasing the number of offenders brought to justice. It is clear to me that I am taking over an already highly motivated team at Fleetwood and aim to continue delivering results that mean something to you all. In direct comparison to the same period last year, this past month has seen 119 fewer calls to Police regarding ASB and 24 fewer victims of criminal damage. In my opinion there is a direct link between these two figures and through the school

summer holidays, I would urge every parent to know where there child is and what they are up to. Of course, the vast majority of youths are not out to cause trouble and their activities should not be spoilt by the mindless few.

event for the town and the many visitors it attracts. It is certainly the worst weather I recall for Tram Sunday - I look forward to working with the organisers on next years event, and hopefully, some warm weather will shine down!

There has been a significant reduction relating to ASB and associated crime on Milton Street and the surrounding areas, and this is due to the interventions that have been put in place. Likewise, we are working hard with the relevant Housing Association to bring an end to harassment and distress being caused to residents on Forshaw Close in the town due to one irresponsible address.

Finally, if you have any information or concerns, you can contact us at your PACT meetings, by phone on 876611, from our Lancashire Constabulary website or if you prefer you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Tram Sunday has been and gone and I would wish to pass on my thanks to the organisers - for providing such a great, free

Introducing… The Peel2Save fundraising card is one of the most efficient and effective ways for charities, schools, clubs, youth groups and other non-profit organisations to raise much needed money.

The Ultimate .Super Simple High Profit Fundraiser! The Peel2Save fundraising card is a brilliant way for charities to raise much needed money. Peel2Save cards are credit-card sized – so they fit neatly into a purse or wallet. They contain 64 individual peel off coupons each one promoting a great local business. In total the offers are typically worth well over £300 – and all the offers are local to you.

You sell the cards for £10 each and get to keep £5 from every card sold. Because the cards offer such great value – and all the businesses featured are local to you (each card is built and pulled together by our local co-ordinator in your area) many organisations are selling hundreds of cards in only 2-3 weeks – which means very significant funds are raised very quickly.

The consumer wins, you win and local businesses benefit too. It’s a total community effort where everybody gains. If you would like to find out more about whether Peel2Save could work for your organisation simply give us a call... “It’s not like making a donation because I’m getting such great value from the card” Lindy Elledge

175th Celebrations As part of Fleetwood’s 175 celebrations, Fleetwood Civic Society has been successful in obtaining an exhibition of the work of Decimus Burton, the renowned 19th Century architect. Decimus Burton was a close friend of Sir Peter Hesketh Fleetwood who had the idea of the new town of Fleetwood and he was the main influence for the original plans of the design and building of Fleetwood. This exhibition has been made available by Philip Miller, retired Architect and author of a book on Decimus Burton’s work and the exhibition is now on view in the Foyer at Marine Hall, The Esplanade, Fleetwood until the end of September 2011 and entrance is free. As well as showing Decimus Burton’s part in the history of Fleetwood, and the prestigious buildings he designed here, such as the North Euston Hotel and both lighthouses, the exhibition shows the distinguished work he did in other parts of the country. He is well respected and acknowledged as the prominent architect of his day and the exhibition shows Fleetwood is very fortunate to be associated with his name.

Fleetwood Museum News Fleetwood Museum enjoyed the busiest day for years on Tram Sunday. Nearly six hundred visitors toured the Museum galleries and another two hundred visited the charity Book Sale. Visitor comments were very positive, particularly in relation to the new Fleetwood 175 exhibitions. The Coffee House was packed with customers from opening to closing and the volunteers worked tremendously hard to ensure that visitors were served promptly. We are still looking for books for the Big Sale during the first two weekends in September. They coincide with the Folk Festival and Heritage Weekends. We are particularly keen to obtain unwanted non fiction books. Please contact the Museum on 876621 if you have books we could use. On Thursday August 11th there will be an afternoon talk from Alan Bell, for forty years director of the internationally acclaimed Fylde Folk Festival. The festival grew from a small gathering of enthusiasts to the major weekend event in the North of England, on occasions covered by BBC television. Some of the characters who have appeared and the great complexity of the programming will be featured in the talk and there will be a showing of some wonderful festival film from twenty five years ago. The talk starts at 2pm. and admission is free. Please arrive early as seating is limited. Throughout August, there will be Wednesday Craft sessions for children with many of the sessions linked to Fleetwood 175 themes-please ring the museum on 876621 for details and to book places Looking ahead, on Monday September 19th. we will be running a coach excursion to Liverpool to look at the new £73 million Museum of Liverpool and to allow time at the Albert Dock attractions. The coach will leave the museum at 8.45am. There will also be an optional afternoon heritage walk in Central Liverpool looking at Victorian architectural gems. Tickets for the visit are now on sale at the Museum reception priced £10. Dick Gillingham (Press Liaison)

SPIRITS NOT DAMPENED BY TRAM SUNDAY RAIN. After almost eighteen months of planning the only thing the Fleetwood Festival of Transport committee was unable to control was the weather. Regardless of the elements Exhibitors and Visitors came in their droves to make Tram Sunday one of the most successful ever, with visitors from as far afield as Hong Kong and Africa, making Fleetwood’s famous and much loved festival their major destination. The vehicles on display were a total credit to their owners giving everyone a true reflection of how the makers intended them to look at their best, many hours of dedicated work is involved in the preparation and was truly appreciated by all our many enthusiasts who patiently photographed and logged each one. New to the Festivities this year was the Leyland to Fleetwood road run from the British Commercial Vehicle Museum in Leyland.

36

The Festival Tram pictured here on route to Fleetwood was made welcome as it starred in the parade line up, unfortunately not on its rails.

The finishing vehicles paraded through the town following their road rally which had taken them through much of the Lancashire countryside. The result was as spectacular as the vehicles themselves making this run a must for future years.

See you all again July 15th 2012

With some slight last minute alterations to accommodate the results of bad weather, the Committee were pleased to report that on the whole the day went extremely well and although numbers were understandably down on expectations, an estimated crowd of 35,000 came to lend their support. In inclement conditions Tram Sunday does have an advantage on most events by being entirely hard standing.

Mike Sanderson the Festival Director and all the Committee send their heartfelt thanks to everyone who played a part in making this 175th Fleetwood anniversary year’s Tram Sunday such a special event.
