BCA Landscape, Studio Three and artist Lesley Fallais have been commissioned by Wyre Borough Council to develop ideas for improvements along the Fleetwood waterfront, including the redevelopment of the Marine Hall Gardens and the design of a new sea observatory building at Rossall Point. The Sea Change Design team would like to hear the community’s thoughts, views and ideas on what they feel should be considered and included. Suggestion boxes, currently being distributed by Fleetwood Development Partnership, are being placed in shops and other locations to enable Fleetwood people to post their ideas of what they feel should be included in the redevelopment of the waterfront. Maurice Dowsing, Vice Chair of Fleetwood Development Partnership, said, “This is another important opportunity for the people of Fleetwood to put their ideas forward during August to the design team. The team will then be producing their Draft Scheme at the end of August for further public consultation in mid September. Wyre Borough and BCA Landscape will continue to consult with the local community and at the end of September BAC Landscape will be applying for planning permission. Even after submission, the community will still be able to put forward their comments on the development during October and November for consideration.”Garry Payne, Wyre Borough Council’s Director of Planning & Regeneration said, “These suggestion boxes are part of our wider consultation with the local community. This will enable the developers to incorporate in their designs what the community wants. We are grateful for all the help that the Fleetwood Development Partnership is giving as well as the other organisations in the Fleetwood. The community’s involvement in this project is very important to the success of this Sea Front development.”Lesley Fallais Artist said, “We would like to thank everybody who has come forward with their ideas and memories of Fleetwood and we are delighted with the amount of information, films and photos we have received already. Please keep those suggestions coming in.”

community pass by your home, or in the street or park, don’t worry too much as the chances are they are just a bunch of kids doing no harm. Hello again everyone, well summer is over once more, did anyone see it? If you did, please let your local police officer know as it has been missing quite some time now and we could do to locate it for next year. Well our children will be all back at school now, with a new group starting high school while one set leave with their exam results to launch their chosen careers and what great results they were. There is a lot of debate about whether the exams are getting easier, but being the parent of a girl who has just successfully gone through them all, I know first hand the incredible hard work and focussed effort they all put in and sometimes they will need to let off steam from this unrelenting pressure they get at school nowadays; and this got me thinking. Whenever we see our youths, young people, children, call them what you will, portrayed in the news it is always seemingly in a negative way, which itself leads to feelings of fear, intimidation and apprehension when we see them in groups around our town. But the simple truth of it is, in any given town, the high schools will have somewhere in the region of 1200 pupils of which only maybe 20 or 30 will ever come to the adverse attention of the police. The vast majority are perfectly well behaved. My own personal experiences are that our youngsters are far more eloquent, tolerant and respectful of other people’s points of view and differences in society than ever they were in my day and this is a truly good thing.
Obviously we will continue to work hard to tackle the anti social behaviour of the few, who give the majority a bad name and by way of example, last month I mentioned one particular boy who was making life difficult for people around Warren Ward, which includes the Sea Cadet base area. We have been working with other agencies and are now well advanced towards applying for an ASBO against that young man. He is well aware of our targeting of him and this will be unceasing until he learns, for his own good, to conform. But we must all remember he is very much in the minority. Please keep letting us know of your concerns and suspicions, without your help we cannot achieve anything, it is your community and we are here to help you keep it safe. We act on all information you provide and you can contact us at your local PACT meetings, by telephoning or calling in at the police station. If you prefer, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, you can remain anonymous and may get a reward. Sgt David Blight, Fleetwood Neighbourhood Policing Team
Public agencies, the police, schools, health services, etc have been working closely for the last ten years or more to achieve the things we are now seeing bear fruit. Every child in the region will, at some point in their education, receive lessons on respect, diversity and basically how to behave well in society. These lessons are another example of the important behind the scenes work that your Police Community Support Officers (PCSO’s) do. We work closely with Fleetwood High School staff and management and have a permanent PCSO presence in that school to assist in these lessons and also to help resolve bullying, attendance and other issues, challenging intolerance before it has chance to take hold. This work has played a major part in reducing Anti Social Behaviour (ASB) to the current low levels we are now enjoying, so next time you see a group of youths

Fleetwood town Duggan latest of Fleetwood loan departures By Michael Woods (FTFC)
Round Up by Derick Thomas
sharpness at Chester and will link up with former Highbury team mate Mike Wilde. September at Highbury Blue Square Bet Premier Saturday 11th September, 3pm Kettering Town Tuesday 21st September, 7.45pm Kidderminster Harriers Saturday 25th September, 3pm Bath City
Promising young centre back Jack Duggan has left Fleetwood Town on loan to Clitheroe, in search of some essential match experience from the Evo-Stik league. The seventeen year old was a member of the Fleetwood Town under 18 Lancashire FA Youth cup winning side, of 2009-2010.
Brazillian striker Magno Vieira visited the Fleetwood Town summer holiday soccer school and gave a few tips to the youngsters. The soccer schools continue each Saturday morning on the Memorial Park and more details are available by phoning 07833 456114. Some of the young footballers are pictured with Magno.
Whilst some youth players would be apprehensive about being thrown into a completely new side, Duggan seems eager to gain the match practise. He explained; "That’s what it’s all about for me really, to toughen me up playing for a first team and playing for points." Duggan endured a baptism of fire for his full debut at Clitheroe, as they bowed out of the FA Cup at the first hurdle in a 5-3 reversal at Bacup Borough. Meanwhile, left-back Adam Sumner has headed to Northwich Victoria, whilst striker Nick Rogan is looking to regain match
