Wondering how to celebrate Halloween in style this year? Well wonder no more!

Fleetwood Club for Young People

After the huge success of last year, Farmer Parrs Animal World in Fleetwood is really going to town this Halloween – by day and by night!! With 2 evening „Farmer Parr-a-Normal Parties‟ on 30th and 31st Oct. Last year only one evening party was held but it was a sell out success and both children and parents had a spook-tastic time. At the evening events guests will be able to see the haunted museum in all its terrifying glory with guided rope tours – let go of the rope if you dare – last year a whole host of ghosts and ghouls turned up and thoroughly terrorised the party goers – dare you join the ghost trail?

It will provide a safe, warm , well-equipped, exciting and accessible meeting place with high quality affordable, sporting, recreational and youth work facilities for the young people of Fleetwood. There will be a planned programme of activities, which includes sports, arts and residential experiences. With opportunities for local youth to stay healthy and have on going relationships with caring adults with access to information and advice. A new Board of Trustees has been appointed and they are charged with driving the project forward. In the near future, the Board has appointing a full-time youth leader who will oversee the day-to-day running of the club and they will liaise with the volunteer leaders of the various interest groups both sporting and cultural. The club is also affiliated to the Lancashire Association of Clubs for Young People and will be able to take advantage of the many facilities and courses offered by the Association.

In addition this year there will be a zone called the „‟Panic Room‟ – a section of the barn has been set aside especially to terrify farm visitors – enter at your peril. This section may not be suitable for very young children! It will be open for the evening parties and at intervals during the day throughout half term. There will also be scary stories, meet the owls in the witches house, dancing, apple bobbing, lucky dip and much more. Come in Halloween costume, strut your stuff on the catwalk and you might win a prize in our Fancy dress competition – the standard last year was fantastic (evening events only). Bring along a carved pumpkin and you can also enter the pumpkin competition to win a pumpkin-tastic prize. If you‟re not up for a big evening event but still wish to get into the spirit of things why not visit during the day – there will be plenty of HORRID things to see and do, plus all the usual daily events and farm fun. Children in Halloween costume can visit for free over the halfterm week (when accompanied by an adult) so get into the spirit of things and fly down to Farmer Parrs – (free entry offer does not apply for evening parties). EEE BYYE GUM!

“Tommy's the new £300,000 Fleetwood Club for Young People based on the first Floor of the Lofthouse Centre in London Street is progressing well.

Robert Wright the Chair of the Trustees said, “The refurbishing of the first Floor of the Lofthouse Centre is expected to be completed and early November 2009. The official opening will be in December 2009. We are £25,000 short and this will delay the building of a climbing wall requested by the youth of Fleetwood, also new furniture for the coffee area and the quiet rooms. We have had great support from a range of funders. Acquiring additional funding has been difficult. We are confident with local support we can raise the money required.” NOTE The new club is called Fleetwood Club for Young People “Tommy‟s” in recognition of all the effort Tom Norton put in leading the old club in Rhly Street. For additional information please contact Robert Wright Tel Number 01253 356546

Round Up by Derick Thomas

Pictures by Darren Clarke Jamie Blundell

LINK-Magazine FA CUP WIN FOR TOWN Fleetwood Town 3-1 Farsley Celtic FA Cup Second Qualifying Round sponsored by E.On Saturday 26th September 2009 Fleetwood Town manager Micky Mellon celebrated one year in charge at Highbury with an FA Cup Second Qualifying Round win over Blue Square North rivals Farsley Celtic. A sixth strike by Roy Stammer gave Farsley a surprise lead when he hit the top left corner despite the efforts of Danny Hurst. Fleetwood recovered two minutes later thanks a Mike Wilde strike. Skipper Jamie Milligan sent a free-kick into the box on the stroke of half-time that allowed Steve McNulty to power home his first for Town and take the lead into the break. The Highbury side booked a place in the next round thanks to an Adam Warlow header on 58 minutes. Jamie McGuire‟s run down the right, and past Farsley scorer Stammer, produced an inch perfect curling cross to Warlow at the far post. The striker nudged in between the two full backs and sent his header past the sprawling Skiba, equalling Wilde‟s tally of six for the season.

Fleetwood Town Under 12 boys were rewarded for completing a sponsored walk in aid of team funds by being ball boys for the FA Cup win over Farsley Celtic. The youngsters started the day by walking from North Pier to Highbury Stadium and enjoyed fish and chips for lunch before going pitch side for the game. Manager Mike Deaville said his team worked hard. “I‟m really proud of the lads. All the squad turned up apart from a couple who were ill and everyone worked hard. Being ball boys for a first team game really capped the day. The boys also enjoyed seeing Micky Mellon when he popped in to say hello during their lunch. The final figure isn‟t in yet, but I know we will have

raised several hundred pounds from the day. I‟d like to thank all our sponsors and the parents and friends who completed the walk as supervisors.”

Sean Clancy is enjoying a leave of absence from Fleetwood Town in India. The midfielder, 22, is employed by the Liverpool-based Inspire Academy who provides international sports education, soccer schools and vocational training. He is a UEFA „B‟ licensed coach and will build on the links from his last visit in October 2008. Manager Micky Mellon has made preparations for Clancy‟s absence. “We‟ve known for quite some time that Sean had commitments with his employer regarding India. The squad is deep enough to cover.” Clancy, who has claimed five man of the match awards this season, is due to miss three games.

Fleetwood Town Under 16 boys couldn‟t match their opening 8-0 away win when they lost to South Shore Youth. The home game at King George‟s Fields ended 4-2 to the visitors.

“Did You Know That You Don’t Have To Keep Making Debt Repayments If You Can No Longer Afford Them? Read This To Find Out about this Legal Loophole…..” Recently a friend said to me “If I‟d have known that you could have reduced my debt repayments without another loan I would have called you immediately!” At Debt Lifeline, we‟ve spent years releasing people from the debt that‟s been destroying their lives. The problem is 99% of people are unaware of what can LEGALLY be done using the “secrets” of the “Debt Lifeline System TM”. If your circumstances qualify the Debt Lifeline System TM GUARANTEES….. All of your unsecured creditors will be legally obliged to write off a significant proportion of their debt No upfront fees and charges. You will pay one monthly amount to creditors, usually for 60 months as full and final settlement. You‟re immediately protected from all your unsecured creditors (including credit cards, loans, overdrafts etc.)

4

None of your assets such as your house or the car you use for work can be taken from you. 5 All interest on your debts will be frozen (if 75% in value of your creditors agree) You won‟t need another loan. All the creditors that don‟t want to help will be forced to do so. We will deal with all letters and phone calls for you.. You‟ll be able to get another mortgage if you need to move. You‟ll still be able to use a (pre-paid) Visa or Mastercard no matter what your credit rating is like. You‟ll avoid the stigma of bankruptcy by your situation not being made public in your local newspaper. The Debt Lifeline System is only implemented by professional, qualified and licensed representatives. If the Debt Lifeline System doesn‟t deliver all of the above then we‟ll give you £250, no questions asked.

Total debts of £43,404, of which £20,124 (46%) was written off by 60 affordable monthly payments of £388. “I am glad that I followed my instincts and went with Debt Lifeline, I am so pleased with the outcome”.
