Nevfest july 2016

Thank you! Thank you for coming to the sixth ‘NEVFEST’ in Newcastle Metro Radio Arena, our biggest festival yet! It is a pleasure to welcome you to the event. The profits from today will help FARPLACE ANIMAL RESCUE do more to help animals from across the UK and Ireland. We specialise in the more difficult cases and have helped many animals from Ireland. If you are wanting many of the products featured today on an ongoing basis, be sure to pop into our VEGAN STORE at 71 Clayton St, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 5PY anytime 10am to 6pm Monday to Saturday. We are also launching today our TALKTOMEIMVEGAN campaign in the North East to encourage more conversations to happen about the benefits to the planet and health of veganism as well as the moral case for no animals to die for our choices. We have a feedback form on www.northeastvegfanfestival.com – please take a moment to fill it in and help us keep improving the festivals. If you enjoyed today, be sure to come along to NEVFEST7 in Sunderland, Stadium of Light on November 20th. I would also like to thank our lovely sponsors and stall holders– without them, this event would not have been possible. Thank you so much and see you next time

FARPLACE ANIMAL RESCUE We are the organisers of NEVFEST, meaning all proceeds go to Farplace Animal Rescue. We are a strictly no-kill animal rescue sanctuary helping all the animals we can, so your attendance to this event is directly helping our animals. Our aim is simple: to prevent the mistreatment of animals. By running vegan festivals around the UK, we hope to promote the vegan diet in the most positive way possible, leading to more people cutting out animal products from their lives. We proudly put animals first and campaign against hunting, animals in circuses and the badger killing. We think Breed Specific Legislation is wrong and punishes a breed when it should be on a case-by-case basis regardless of breed. We always need support for our animals, and donations are greatly appreciated. Donations can be sent to 122 Station Road Wallsend NE28 8QS or by phone to 0191 2637644. To set up a standing order please visit our website and see the Support Us section.

www.farplace.org.uk You can also text your support if in the UK... Text NEUTER to 70300 to give £10 Text LOVE to 70300 to give £5 Text STAFFIE to 70300 to give £3 Text LICK to 70300 to give £1 Texting CAT3 or CAT5 gives £3 or £5 per month Our feed bills alone can be as high as £3000 a month so any help is always very gratefully received. Thank you on behalf of all the animals.

Exhibitions and Films

Controversial Vegan Photography Described by the editor of Vegan Life Magazine as ‘fearless and provocative’, we are delighted to welcome Heidi Mary Porter of www.fbianimals. com – controversial, challenging photographs and a first children’s book designed to show the reality of animal exploitation, Heidi is a childminder by day, vegan activist the rest of the time. She will lead a discussion on her campaign work at 12.30pm and have signed copies of her first book THE FUR TRADE with her. Please note due to the graphic images and nudity, this exhibition and room is adults only. Film Room – In the far right Corner 11.30am - Cowspiracy Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret is a ground-breaking feature-length environmental documentary following intrepid filmmaker Kip Andersen as he uncovers the most destructive industry facing the planet today – and investigates why the world’s leading environmental organisations are too afraid to talk about it. Animal agriculture is the leading cause of deforestation, water consumption and pollution, is responsible for more greenhouse gases than the transportation industry, and is a primary driver of rainforest destruction, species extinction, habitat loss, topsoil erosion, ocean “dead zones,” and virtually every other environmental ill. Yet it goes on, almost entirely unchallenged. 1.10pm – Vegucated Part sociological experiment and part adventure comedy, Vegucated follows three meat- and cheese-loving New Yorkers who agree to adopt a vegan diet for six weeks. Lured by tales of weight lost and health regained, they begin to uncover the hidden sides of animal agriculture that make them wonder whether solutions offered in films like Food, Inc. go far enough. This entertaining documentary showcases the rapid and at times comedic evolution of three people who discover they can change the world one bite at a time. 2.45pm– Live and Let Live Six people who have switched to veganism, including former butchers and factory farmers, share their stories to examine the relationship between animals and people.

TALK TO ME I’M VEGAN is a new campaign from FARPLACE ANIMAL RESCUE

You can buy T shirts and bags at cost and sign up to be an AMBASSADOR. Everyone can do it – as vegan outreach can be as little as a simple ‘talk to a few friends about why you are vegan’ right through to running your own campaigns. The TALK TO ME I’M VEGAN approach encourages a kind and gentle approach, without shying away from the simple belief that animals have a right not to die for our palate.

Check out www.talktomeimvegan.com and sign up today – we would love to hear from you. DOGWHALE.COM

DOGWHALE is our new vegan mail order service opening soon. You can sign up by email already for special offers. DOGWHALE seeks to bring you a range of great vegan products with any profits going direct to FARPLACE ANIMAL RESCUE, organisers of the scheme, to spend on campaigns like TALKTOMEIMVEGAN, vegan film showings, festivals and direct animal rescue.
