LASER APPLICATIONS
Whether surface engraving, glass marking, glass drilling or targeted edge deletion –you can benefit from LiSEC's experience in the industriallaser processing of glass.
Laser applications
Contactless machining, unbeatable precision and unrivalled sustainability
Whether it's surface engraving, glass marking, glass drilling or targeted edge deletion: laser radiation is a versatile, contactless tool that makes it possible to process glass with a high degree of precision and extensive efficiency in a wide variety of ways. Surface engraving can be used, for example, in the field of bird protection glass to produce highly effective bird protection patterns on a large area of glass (LiSEC Laser Surface Processing - LSP) or in the field of glass marking to produce small, permanent and quick-to-apply markings (LiSEC Laser Marking System - LMS). Furthermore, a frequent requirement in glass processing is the targeted removal of coatings from glass surfaces. The use of laser radiation in this field enables highly precise edge deletion of the glass coating without adverse effects on the underlying glass.
Surface engraving and laser edge deletion can be combined

either individually or together on one and the same machine in the form of a hybrid system in a range of different designs and configurations (Laser Surface Processing - LSP-A).
In addition, the innovative LiSEC laser drilling process now makes it possible to drill glass in a contactless and waterfree process with unbeatable precision and at high speed. At the same time, LiSEC LDP (Laser Drilling Processing) offers flexibility, efficiency and precision for drilling glass in a vertical machine design.
Glass labelling with laser
Today, the labelling of glass is becoming increasingly important. Product tracking, brand awareness and counterfeit protection are the main drivers behind this trend. This applies in particular to elements in the field of smart glass (e.g. switchable glass or alarm glass lites).

Using the LMS (Laser Marking System) from LiSEC, cost-effective and high-resolution markings can be applied to glass surfaces. Letters, numbers, logos and machine-readable codes are transferred to the glass in a matter of seconds by means of a laser beam. Once applied, these laser markings are abrasion-resistant and inconspicuous.
Both the marking laser and the reading technology can be integrated directly into a production line, or used as a mobile system in production, where they are needed.
Be it barcodes, data matrix codes or QR codes, alphanumeric characters, serial numbers or TSG stamps – with laser marking technology from LiSEC, you are flexible and capable of applying secure, top quality markings to your products.

Laser applications
Contactless machining, unbeatable precision and unrivalled sustainability
Laser edge deletion
Pulsed infrared lasers are used to deliver precise edge deletion. LiSEC also offers specialised lasers to guarantee high quality and productivity with a range of different coatings. Surface coatings such as low-E coatings, paint, mirror coatings, enamels and conductive layers on the glass can be removed and textured with high resolution. Thanks to the targeted laser edge deletion/removal process, it’s possible to perform the flexible and economical edge deletion and texturing of a wide range of glass products.
PRECISION AND QUALITY

Laser edge deletion takes place on an LSP-A system with a special laser. It facilitates extremely precise material removal with sharp contours and high resolution. Laser edge deletion/removal achieves a much higher resolution and sharper contours than etching, sandblasting or mechanical ablation.
PROFITABILITY AND EFFICIENCY
LiSEC LSP-A system revolutionises the removal of glass coatings by eliminating intermediate steps and making the process efficient for both small and large batches. The contactless method ensures that the underlying glass remains undamaged and clear to preserve the quality of your products. With the LSP-A, you benefit from low total cost of ownership thanks to minimal maintenance and operating costs. In addition, the system can be easily automated, which significantly reduces the need for manual labour and increases overall productivity.
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY
Laser ablation is an environmentally friendly process that eliminates the need for hazardous chemicals or grinding agents. In addition, the process works with low energy consumption. This makes it a sustainable and efficient choice for material removal and surface treatment.
UNRIVALLED VERSATILITY
The LSP-A is capable of treating a wide range of materials and coatings, including paint, mirror coatings, enamel, low-E coatings and conductive coatings. The LSP-A can be used for the edge deletion of both large surfaces and the finest textures. This capability opens up a wide range of new applications and products, such as alarm glass, frequency transmitting glass, heated glass and more. The process is also simplified because there is no need to create complex masks or negatives; you can simply import a digital drawing and the process can start immediately. This not only saves time, but also increases the efficiency and precision of your work.
Laser drilling
LiSEC presents: The next generation of glass drilling machines, the LiSEC LDP-A (Laser Drilling Processing). The system is ready to use and offers innovative solutions for modern production. Thanks to LiSEC's laser drilling process, you can drill glass with flexibility, efficiency and precision while maximising sustainability and resource conservation. The process also enables you to easily create customised drilling designs. The LiSEC laser drilling process is characterised by the following properties:
PRECISION AND QUALITY

The LDP-A system guarantees contactless and mechanically tension-free operation and achieves a high degree of accuracy and repeatability. The result is clean edges directly from the process, with no danger of cuts, which are precise and nearly right-angled – and all this with low thermal stress on the material.
SPEED AND SIMPLICITY
The laser drilling process is significantly faster than a water jet or mechanical drilling process. At the same time, the cut edges are of such high quality that the glass sheets can be fully tempered immediately after the process. Downstream processes such as chamfering, grinding and polishing can be omitted, saving you valuable time.
PROFITABILITY AND EFFICIENCY
The LDP-A was developed to deliver optimum cost-effectiveness with low set-up costs, because it requires no tools, consumables nor water treatment. The system maximises material utilisation and doesn't need reworking. With a long service life and very little space requirements, it serves a high degree of automation, making it a smart investment for any business.
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY
The high-precision, water-free and coolant-free cutting process minimises waste and maximises productivity. The innovative technology reduces power consumption by a factor of 10 to 20 and keeps machine wear at an absolute minimum.
Laser process for bird protection glass
Laser-textured glass protecting birds from collisions
Bird-friendly glass is designed to make glass visible as an obstacle for birds and thus prevent their deaths. The LiSEC LSP-A laser processing machine enables the production of bird-friendly glass. The laser changes the transparency and reflectivity of glass so that birds can see the surface immediately and avoid it. Laser processing therefore offers a practical, economical and visually appealing solution that prevents bird collisions with glass. It ensures that buildings are bird-friendly without having to make visual compromises. The advantages of the LiSEC LSP-A are in particular:
FULL EFFECT
Bird protection glass is weather and UV resistant and offers the best protection from bird strikes otherwise caused by reflections or transparency on the outside (POS1) of the glass.
FULL LIGHT
Bird protection glass is translucent and therefore does not impair the look out of the window.
FULL DURABILITY
Bird protection glass is not a coating that fades or disintegrates over time; bird protection glass is laser-textured glass and is therefore as durable as the glass itself.
FULL ENVIRONMENTAL COMPATIBILITY
No paints, colours, chemicals or complex intermediate steps are required in the production of bird protection glass. The texture of the bird protection glass is produced directly on the glass surface using the laser beam. The production process uses minimal resources and is clean.
FULL CREATIVITY
Design your own bird protection decals and use the LiSEC laser process for other design tasks such as texts, logos or photos directly onto the glass surface – with freely adjustable contrast and in grey tones. Even certified non-slip glass surfaces for stairs and glass floors can be produced using LiSEC's laser process.
FULL ECONOMIC EFFICIENCY
Bird protection glass means minimal production costs, with no energy-intensive tempering or enamelling processes, no glass pre-washing and no need to buy consumables. Once installed, bird protection glass is as easy to clean as standard window glass.
FULL FLEXIBILITY
Bird protection glass can be applied to float glass, laminated safety glass and toughened safety glass, and in combination with insulating glass, low-E and solar control coatings. The laser process for bird protection glass is approved for toughened glass – even after tempering. You are free to decide at which point bird protection glass is manufactured in your production process.

SYSTEMS
LiSEC pursues several goals with their laser machines. Their top priority is to optimally satisfy the requirements of their customers, followed by innovation, durability, an efficient workflow and low operating costs.
LSP-A
System for surface marking
The Laser Surface Processing (LSP-A) series is LiSEC’s latest patented innovation. The vertical processing of float glass sheets makes it a genuine space saver. Handling the glass sheets is much easier, because they are no longer laid horizontally but can be placed virtually upright on the machine. This means that even door-sized glass formats can be set up on the LSP-A by a single employee.

The glass panels stand on the machine at an angle of 6° and are well protected from damage thanks to soft rollers and support elements.
LiSEC manufactures the LSP systems in a range of sizes and expansion stages. LiSEC will be happy to send you a non-binding offer with technical details and prices on request.

Benefits
Automatic feeding of the glass sheets without physical effort
The machine can continue to work independently at the end of the working day and over weekends

Laser anti-slip texturing: Transparency and high resistance
The anti-slip laser texturing creates small indentations on all walk-on glass surfaces (also with post-treatment on toughened safety glass). This creates a suction effect that prevents slipping in wet conditions, making it a safe option for public areas.
In contrast to printed textures, which disappear after a few months, the slip resistance of LiSEC leaves 90 % of the glass surface untouched and develops its effect through negative pressure. The small indentations are not subject to any significant abrasion and the surface remains easy to clean. The MPI Materials Processing Institute has tested the slip resistance on glass surfaces produced with LiSEC laser systems in accordance with DIN standards and certified the slip resistance class up to R10.
