AGP SUCCESS STORY

 sustainability efficiency innovation

Founded about five years ago, AGP set out to manufacture insulating glass units for the APL Window Solutions group in New Zealand. They partnered with LiSEC, known for its advanced technology, to establish a highly automated, streamlined production plant. AGP’s facility features optimised LiSEC production lines for glass cutting, seaming, washing and insulating glass assembly. This setup allows AGP to produce high-quality products with minimal operator intervention. AGP plans to expand with a fourth production line and continues to innovate with LiSEC to meet growing demands, especially for Low-E glass on residential and commercial markets.

ZRG has invested in a new 6.5-metre-long LiSEC insulating glass line for thermoplastic spacers as a supplement to its insulating glass line for rigid spacers. The fed-in sheets proceed to the LiSEC washing machine and afterwards to a quality inspection zone, which could also be used as a frame mounting station for frames with a maximum dimension of up to 3.80 metres. The screen is normally inspected for quality in the inspection zone. Following the inspection station there is the TPA applicator with a corner seal and the LiSEC FPS-A press, as well as a calibration unit for the TPA units, allowing the overpressure in the sheet to be released. The sheets are then sealed with LiSEC VFL-1F sealant for max. 6.5 m sheets.

Emirates Glass, headquartered in Dubai, offers its customers a wide range of solutions in the field of glazing. The collaboration with LiSEC began 25 years ago, shortly after their founding in 1997. Today, Emirates Glass has two insulating glass lines, a jumbo cutting line, a water jet system and the corresponding software from LiSEC. "We can proudly say that 60 % of Dubai is glazed with Emirates Glass", says Khan Rizwanulla, Executive President of Emirates Glass.

The Emirates Glass product range includes more than 400 types of performance coatings developed in-house, ranging from functional, such as solar control and low-emissivity coatings, to aesthetic solutions across the entire colour spectrum that meet even the most challenging customer requirements.

"For me, the entire insulating glass line is a highlight. Both the machines and the software products work perfectly together", says Helmut Felbermayer. The LiSEC TPA-A for the automatic processing of thermoplastic spacers is the heart of the insulating glass line and enables maximum flexibility through seamless switching between different glass dimensions. The stepless width adjustment allows switching between different spacer widths without any waiting time.

They have partnered with LiSEC to realise their vision of becoming the first fully automated producer of tempered glass in Brazil. When Clarity Glass was founded in 1996, all work steps were done manually, while tempering was outsourced. Mr. Costa looks back: "We keep moving towards new solutions. When we bought our first, vertical furnace, we operated 3 shifts a day, 7 days a week, and produced 5,500 sqm per month. Year on year we bought new machines and increased our capacity, our experience and our expertise. Until we found LiSEC to help us keep growing."

The encoder relays this speed information and the machine automatically adjusts to keep the belts synchronised. This is a clever feature that I wouldn't have thought of myself." Thermalsun has built a reputation for high-quality products and has a loyal customer base in California. An important factor in Thermalsun's success is the reliability of the equipment they use, which consists of mostly LiSEC products. The partnership between Thermalsun and LiSEC spans more than two decades. It began with the purchase of a cutting table in 1998 and has since expanded to include a variety of machinery and software, such as an insulating glass line, which has been running since 2000 and has only had a total downtime of 3 days, allowing the Californian flat glass processor to meet its commitment to on-time service. The company’s success and growth can be attributed in part to the efficiency and reliability of LiSEC’s machinery.

To process flat glass, Thermalsun uses several LiSEC machines such as a KSR and KSV for edge seaming, as well as a VHW washer. The LiSEC insulating glass line has been a cornerstone in Thermalsun's production of high-quality insulating glass (IG) units for over two decades. The longevity of the machinery is a testament to LiSEC's commitment to durability and quality. Through the LiSEC LONGLiFE programme, Thermalsun has been able to keep its machinery up to date with systematic upgrades, such as PC updates, which extend the life of the entire system.

At the heart of the refrigeration door industry, a unique opportunity was spotted by three partners with over 75 years of combined experience. They noticed a niche market of customers who were often overlooked by larger suppliers. Recognising the potential, they founded Commercial Display Systems (CDS) in 2002 in Los Angeles, California. Today, CDS stands as independent refrigeration door company, experiencing strong growth year after year. When looking to increase productivity, CDS came across LiSEC, who had the right solution even for their very special usage case – an insulating glass line for refrigeration door glass.

Over the year since we've had the LiSEC IG line, we've grown and we're still not utilising the full capacity." For the frame processing of the refrigerator doors and windows, CDS uses a LiSEC A1RL-F desiccant filler and a LBH-25V semi-automatic coating extruder for butyl. The LiSEC BSV-45NK is an automatic spacer bending machine, which helped CDS to greater efficiency. Mr. Calderon highlights: "Before having a LiSEC bender we used to manufacture the spacer in four pieces, which was quite time consuming."
