My life ... RICHARD HODGE, ASSISTANT SALES AND EVENTS MANAGER AT CHESTER CATHEDRAL

How would you describe yourself ? I’m a life-living, fun-loving, no-nonsense, straight-talking, flamboyant person who gets the job done. Where is home? Home is with my husband and two kittens in a village or town called Frodsham in Cheshire. No one seems to know whether it’s a village or town anymore but it’s still a lovely place to live.

...my view is of the Cathedral, so lovely to look out of the window and think about how it’s been there for 1000 years.

And work? Work is in the imposing building of Chester Cathedral, my office is actually in Abbey Square, but my view is of the Cathedral, so lovely to look out of the window and think about how it’s been there for 1000 years. Who’s walked these cobbles?

You can’t beat walking the sandstone trail which starts (or ends) in Frodsham. I haven’t actually done the whole thing, after 5 miles it takes you past The Goshawk pub in Mouldsworth, so we always pop in to use the toilet. Then six pints later we grab a taxi home. It’s a lovely day though.

What did you want to be when you were younger? When I was younger, I wanted to work for the RSPCA. When I was in school and they make you work for a week, I said that I wanted to work with animals, thinking they’d put me at Chester Zoo or the local veterinarians. Where did they put me…the butcher!

What was the last gift you gave someone? I recently went through my wardrobe and filled four bin bags full of my clothes, I contacted a lady who gives clothes to refugees. She was thrilled with my donation and said they would go to a really good home.

Name a few of your favourite places to be... Now you’re talking. I used to live in Melbourne, Australia so have travelled a lot. I love Thailand, especially a little island called Phi Phi Island, close to where The Beach with Leonardo DiCaprio was filmed. Such a gorgeous little island. I recently returned from three weeks in Vietnam and Cambodia which was hauntingly beautiful. My husband is a Kiwi so I’ve been to New Zealand a few times. That is such a diverse and inspiring country. From fiords to waterfalls and hot springs to glaciers, New Zealand has it all. My Grandfather described it as “God’s Country”.

Tell us a secret/fun fact? I have recorded two songs, ‘The Prayer’ as a solo song and ‘Halleluiah’ (the Pentatonix version). Your mastermind subject? The cancelled concerts of Celine Dion. Only joking, but I’ve had tickets since 2019 and still no sign of it happening. What have been some of your favourite celebrations at the Cathedral? I love it when they hire the space to film in. They recently filmed ‘Outlanders’ and it was amazing to see how they transform the areas into a set. I recently organised a silent disco which was completely bonkers, but lots of fun. It was great being part of the late Queen’s funeral; it was very sobering walking around the Cathedral, talking to people from all walks of life who just wanted to pay their respects. What’s been your biggest life lesson? Don’t take life too seriously and always buy a drink if you’re in a round. chestercathedral.com

Ways to Celebrate in the Sky

1

Take Life Higher

Rising majestically into the air before drifting through the skies with only the sounds of nature and the occasional blast of the burners for company, there is no better way to take your celebration higher than with Virgin’s unforgettable hot air balloon rides. Find the world at your feet as both beautiful rural views and, with the right wind, city skylines could come into view from the launch site in Cheshire. With the stunning Peak District to the east and the modern urban landscape of Manchester to the north, you're sure to enjoy views of both town and country as you drift up, up and away! virginballoonflights.co.uk

Summer In The Sky

This summer why not take your celebration to the London sky for a unique, al fresco dining experience at The O2. There are a number of exciting flights, from the classic breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner through to afternoon tea, cocktails, and regular one-off specials. The talented chefs and hosts prepare and serve your meals in the sky, allowing you to sit back, relax and enjoy the experience. There’s something for everyone and whichever flight you’re on you can expect an indulgent menu with great vibes and first class views. londoninthesky.co.uk

3

Private Celebration

To start your celebration in style why not charter a private jet to Nice Airport? From here your celebration can continue to Cannes, Monaco, St Tropez, Nice and the rest of the French Riviera. Wherever you wish to go in the world, Levare Aviation can take you. The flight time from Manchester to Nice on a private jet is around 2 hours 20 minutes, slightly less than commercial. For four people, we'd recommend a Very Light Jet such as the Embraer Phenom 100 which is a modern, advanced and spacious aircraft with an onboard bar that would cost around £8,900 one way or around £17,500 return. Combined with private terminals, luxurious aircraft, five-star inflight catering and reduced journey time, chartering your own private aircraft is the ultimate way to travel to your next celebration. levareaviation.com

S t rict rictll y S pe pea a ki ng ng As Strictly Ballroom sings and dances its way to The Lowry later this month, Craig Hough talks to Kevin Clifton about the show, his memories of Len Goodman and being a new dad Baz Luhrmann’s debut film Strictly Ballroom was hugely popular when it was released in the early 90s. You were a huge fan of the film from a young age, weren’t you? The film came out when I was about 10 years old when I was growing up as a young ballroom dancer and there was nothing else out there like it. I became obsessed with it and watched it over and over again. I became obsessed with this character - Scott Hastings – and thought he was the coolest person on earth, so much so that it started influencing me in terms of my own competitions. I started going a bit rogue on the dancefloor and would try and entertain the audience before the result. The coaches would be annoyed but I was just trying to copy Scott Hastings. I turned around to my Mum and Dad at the time and said: “You know one day they’re going to put this film on stage and I’m going to be Scott Hastings”. I’m 40 now. It’s been a 30 year manifestation.

For anyone that may not know the story, how would you sum it up and how does it translate from screen to stage? It’s the story of Scott Hastings who is a ballroom dancer. His parents used to be ballroom dancers, so he has grown up in the dance studio and he’s looking for something different in his life. He’s bored of following the family traditions. He starts going a bit rouge, doing his own steps and is looking to express himself in new ways. He doesn’t know quite what he is looking for until he meets a girl called Fran who is also trying to break the traditions of her family. Fran is a beginner in the competition world, but she has a real spark about her. They find what they are looking 22

for in each other, on and off the dancefloor. They start creating new steps together and they also start falling for each other. With the musical, we have tried to stay as close to the film as we can, because it’s a cult film, where if you leave out certain points people are going to be disappointed. It’s like if you’re doing Dirty Dancing and you leave out the lift at the end, people will go home disappointed even if the whole thing was great. We have some of the music from the soundtrack of the film like ‘Love Is In The Air’ and ‘Time After

is so brilliant in the role of Fran. We feel like the show is slightly different each night we do it. So, I’m having loads of fun doing it because she’s brought a new energy. She’s absolutely fantastic.

You obviously have a great relationship with Craig Revel Horwood, what is he like as a director of the show?

Time’, but we’ve also had a whole load of new music written for the musical, some by Sia. There’s lots of great music and there’s obviously loads of great dancing, all set in Australia.

How’s the Australian accent? I’m alright with it as one of my best mates is Australian and I’ve spent some time over there. My mentor Jason Gilkison is one of the choreographers on the musical, he’s Australian as well so I feel like I’m around the Aussie accent a lot, plus the sheer amount I’ve watched Strictly Ballroom.

Faye Brookes, has recently taken over the role of Fran, how have you found having a new partner? Does it take time to build the chemistry?

My experience with him on Strictly Come Dancing was that you prepare a dance for a whole week and practice and practise it, then show it to him and he says: “That was rubbish”, but then off-camera he was always really lovely. Anyone that works on Strictly knows he’s actually a real sweetheart. Away from the camera, he’s a really nice guy, he’s just a harsh judge. So, I wondered what Craig we were going to get in rehearsals. Then we started practising some of the scenes and songs and showed them to him. He’d basically sit there and go: “No! Rubbish! Do them again!”, then I was like: “Ok we are getting critical Craig”. He was really creative in that he really wanted to start from the beginning with this musical and didn’t want to come in with any ideas that might have been done before. It was a really open and creative rehearsal room.

Maisie Smith was playing the part for 6 months and then Faye came in. Because we were doing 8 shows a week, I didn’t have loads of time with Faye, so she was working with a resident director and musical director, on her own. We had a couple of sessions together on the choreography and ran through some of the scenes and then we literally did a dress run and she was on. So, you would have thought it would have taken a while for the chemistry to build but she is so good that the second she stepped on the stage; I think right from show one we had an instant chemistry. She 23

Earlier this year we had the sad news about the legendary Len Goodman. Do you have any fond memories to share of your time with him? When I was growing up in the ballroom world, I knew Len as a judge way before Strictly Come Dancing was ever a thing, and he used to compete when my Mum and Dad were competing, so I feel like he’s always been around. When I first started doing Strictly because I knew him a little bit - I asked him for some advice going into my first show in my first year. He said to me then: “Never forget who we are and where we’ve come from and what an opportunity this is because some people get a bit too big for their boots and they think that they are superstars because they are on the telly.” He also said: “At the end of the day, without Strictly Come Dancing, we are all just a bunch of ballroom dancers trying to make our way in a dance studio, and this has given ballroom dancing a platform that we would never have even dreamed of. So, don’t take it for granted and enjoy it.” I’ve never forgotten that.

IMAGES : INSTAGREM @KEVICLIFTON

Looking at the positive reaction across social media of the tour so far, people are praising the high energy and amazing performances, and many have commented on how well you can sing as well as you can dance. Do you enjoy

24

the singing/acting aspect of the performance? Yeah, I really do! I’ve been singing and acting for a long time. It’s funny because no matter how much you do; people will always associate me with Strictly Come Dancing. I think this is my sixth musical now, so I’ve been doing it for a while. I was doing a West End musical before I did Strictly Come Dancing, but I still think there are a lot of people that just assume that I’m a dancer from Strictly that’s been given this opportunity. It’s still nice to hear when people are pleasantly surprised when they hear me sing.

You’re playing The Lowry from 26th June until 1st July, have you spent much time over in Salford and Manchester? Well, I did a lot of competitions in Manchester when I was a kid, but I’ve never actually played at The Lowry Theatre so I’m looking forward to it. On my first season of Strictly I was dancing with Suzanna Reid and at the time she was doing BBC Breakfast and so I was over in Manchester all the time. We’d train half the week in Manchester and sometimes rehearse in The Lowry. I got to see all the big posters of the upcoming shows and thought to myself one day I’ll play there and I’m finally getting to do it.

TheCHESHIRE CHESHIREMagazine Magazine| Regulars | Feature The

sometimes I don’t see them for a week. Although I really miss them for a week the flip side is that I manage to get 8 hours of sleep a night!

What would you hope for Minnie’s future? Strictly Come Dancing Champion 2045? Playing Fran on the West End? Or maybe retiring WWE superstar Rhea Ripley at Wrestlemania 55?

That is my dream! The rest of my family are like: “No, she’s not going to be a wrestler!”, but my dream is that she will be the women’s champion one day at WWE.

You are set to feature on an upcoming episode of BBC’s ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’, how was that experience for you? I’ve always watched the show and wanted to do it. I found it really fascinating how they can go back into people’s history and find out all this information. My Dad has always said he’d like to find out about our family’s history and I suddenly got a call from my agent about doing the new series. Not everyone gets to do a full TV episode. My girlfriend (Stacey Dooley), for example, got asked to do it before me, and the show went away and did all their research, and gave her a book full of information from her family tree, but there wasn’t enough of a story in there to make a TV episode out of it. I was praying they’d find something that would be interesting enough to make an episode for me, so when we got told we were doing one I was absolutely thrilled. We filmed it over 2 weeks, and I was in the hands of this small team of people and I didn’t know anything. I wasn’t allowed to ask anything. They were just like: “You’re coming with us, we’ve got a few things planned for you, pack a case”. It was honestly one of the most amazing experiences of my life.

Strictly Ballroom has bright, sparkly costumes, live music, and incredible athleticism with a live audience to feed off, all of the things required to become a professional wrestler. With ITV’s All Elite Wrestling’s All In event scheduled for London in August, could we see you step into the ring? I can go to the AEW event so I’m going to try and get over there. Again, that is the absolute dream. Stacey keeps saying (because I talk about it so much): “Why don’t you just get in touch with them?”. I just don’t know in what capacity I could get involved as 40 is quite old to start training to be a wrestler, I think. I did actually do a class once where I was learning the basics and it was awful. It hurt so much, and I was so much worse than I wanted to be. I’m never going to be a wrestler, but maybe a manager or something – the new Paul Heyman. On Strictly, Stacey used to call me King Kev, so I think my wrestler name would be ‘Drama King Kev’. Strictly Ballroom: The Musical will run from 26th June until 1st July at The Lowry Theatre strictlyballroomtour.co.uk thelowry.com

Talking of amazing experiences, what’s it like being a first-time Dad? Just wonderful. Me and Stacey are obsessed with her (Minnie). Sometimes they both come around with us on tour and stay with me, which is really lovely and 25

Seiko Celebrates 110th Anniversary The story behind the company’s founding and its journey to creating Japan’s first wristwatch

T

he story of renowned Japanese watchmaker Seiko began in 1881, when 21 year old entrepreneur Kintaro Hattori opened a shop selling and repairing watches and clocks in central Tokyo, Japan. Just 11 years later, in 1892, he established the ‘Seikosha’ factory and began producing wall clocks. This marked the beginnings of a company that was to become one of the world’s most important timepiece manufacturers. Kintaro looked to broaden the range of his business and expand to manufacture, so in 1895, he created a pocket watch, known as the Seiko Timekeeper. It was a vital step forward for the Japanese watchmaker, which paved the way for Japan’s and Seiko’s very first wristwatch: the ‘Laurel,’ in 1913. The Laurel was one of many firsts for Seiko - most notably creating the world’s first quartz watch in 1969. Seiko continued to strive for innovation with the first 600m diver’s watch in a titanium case in 1975, as well as the world’s first 1000m diver’s watch with a ceramic case in 1986. Practicality has always been the centre of innovation – as seen by inventing the diver’s accordion strap which expands with the wearer’s wrist underwater, and the L shaped helium gasket which negated the diving watch wearer’s need for a helium escape valve upon

return to the surface. Importantly, Seiko created the world’s first Spring-driven watch movement – combining a mechanical watch with quartz accuracy, followed by launching the world’s first GPS Solar watch, which both revolutionised the industry. The Japanese brand remains the only manufacturer with every watchmaking technology, including Quartz, Kinetic, Mechanical, Spring Drive, Solar and GPS Solar. This constant drive for technological innovation is a proud focus for the brand, now and in the future. 2023 marks the 110th anniversary of The Laurel, and today, after more than 140 years of innovation, the Japanese watchmaker is still dedicated to the timekeeping perfection that the founder strove to achieve. In commemoration of Japan’s first wristwatch, and to celebrate centuries of traditional local Japanese artistry and culture Seiko have introduced new additions to the Presage Craftmanship series; the Presage Laurel Enamel, the Presage Laurel Urushi, the Presage Laurel Arita and the uniquely limited Presage Laurel Owari Shippo Enamel. ASK THE EXPERT DR ADAM CHEONG,GP & MEDICAL DIRECTOR OF SKINPHINITY AESTHETICS CLINIC When is the right time to consider aesthetics treatments? I want it to look subtle and natural - is this achievable?

There is no right time to start aesthetics treatments, and indeed ageing, wrinkles and lines should not be seen as wrong. You should reflect on how you feel when you see your wrinkles and ageing features - if it makes you self-conscious and less confident, then it might be the right time to seek out a consultation. Some people in their 20s start with injectable treatments, and as long as it is done carefully and professionally, this can have a desirable outcome. Conversely, some patients put off having treatments until much later in life, which can leave some features more difficult to treat successfully. If in doubt, seek a consultation with an experienced practitioner for guidance. Achieving a natural look is definitely achievable in the right hands, and don't be put off by what you see online or on TV; much of the good work goes under the radar

as it is subtle and natural looking. Your injector must have a good understanding of the underlying anatomy and dermatology, use well-established premium injectable products and after a thorough consultation, provide an individualised plan. This is the key to a good, natural-looking outcome. Everyone's face is different and should be treated so.

Is there anything else I can be doing to slow down ageing?

Absolutely, and studying this is a passion of mine. Ageing is inevitable but there are certainly several factors that can influence ageing, and overall wellbeing as we get older. Sun, or photoaging, can contribute to as much as 90% of external ageing of the face, so consistent use of high-factor sunscreen is vital. A healthy diet rich in polyphenols and antioxidants to help counteract reactive oxygen species, which are thought to be one of the primary causes of ageing. In addition, many other lifestyle factors such as minimising alcohol, maintaining a healthy blood sugar, regular varied exercise (particularly in zone 2 sustained aerobic exercise), sauna use, good quality sleep and stress reduction may all help to reduce intrinsic ageing. There may even be a role for senolytic agents and certain supplements. Ongoing research in the field of ageing and longevity medicine is rapidly evolving watch this space! skinphinity.com

F I N D YO U R F I T w it h C l a r e S tob toba ar t This month I talk to CPASE’s Sal Russ about the benefits of Kinetic Chain Release

K

inetic Chain Release (KCR) is akin to a comprehensive body maintenance check-up, similar to how you would regularly service your car to ensure its smooth operation. Incorporating KCR into your training regimen can be highly beneficial in addressing any minor discomforts that may arise in everyday life. With an extensive background spanning over three decades, Sal Russ has garnered vast experience working alongside top-tier trainers and imparting knowledge to fitness professionals across the UK. She holds the highest certifications in personal training, sports therapy, clinical pilates, functional movement, pre and post natal care, and is a skilled practitioner of KCR. Passionate about injury prevention, Sal firmly believes in integrating KCR into your fitness routine. Renowned for her expertise in postural rehabilitation and spinal injuries, she has gained recognition for her exceptional knowledge in this field.

40

Developed by Scottish physiotherapist Hugh Gilbert, Kinetic Chain Release is a practical and scientifically supported protocol. By employing a series of specific stretches, it delicately releases tension in pivotal joints throughout the body. A fundamental advantage of KCR lies in its holistic approach, addressing the root causes of physical issues rather than merely treating symptoms. By tackling underlying imbalances within the body’s kinetic chain, KCR assists in preventing future injuries and fostering long-term health and wellbeing. KCR has demonstrated particular effectiveness in individuals suffering from chronic pain such as back pain, neck pain, and joint pain. These types of discomfort often stem from imbalances or dysfunctions within the body’s kinetic chain, which can be exacerbated by poor posture, lack of exercise, or repetitive stress. By restoring proper alignment and mobility, KCR helps alleviate pain and enhance the quality of life for those experiencing chronic pain. Furthermore, KCR can prove invaluable for athletes and sports enthusiasts aiming to optimise performance and prevent injuries. By enhancing range of motion, flexibility, and balance, KCR diminishes the risk of injuries and overall physical performance. It also accelerates recovery time from injuries while elevating athletic capabilities.

The CHESHIRE Magazine | Wellness

Here are some simple effective exercises designed to help correct the imbalances in your upper body:

#1 - Dumb Waiter

By releasing accumulated tension within key joints, KCR empowers individuals to eliminate restrictions and restore their body’s natural alignment. From personal experience, KCR has been instrumental in addressing problematic areas in my shoulders and back. During sessions, Sal adeptly releases tension that I struggle to alleviate through other means. Starting from the feet and working up through the body’s interconnected kinetic chain, she skillfully dissipates built-up tension and energy, allowing my body to relax into its natural state. Post-treatment, it is common to experience a sense of relaxation and fatigue due to the release of stored energy and emotions. Physically, it refocuses my posture and addresses minor misalignments in my spine. Fascial restrictions often lead to referred pain, making it crucial to consider the body as a whole. Sal’s holistic approach enables her to pinpoint the root cause in specific joints and prescribe targeted exercises to rectify imbalances within the gym. KCR operates on the principle that weakness in one area of the skeleton can have consequential effects elsewhere. Sal explained the reasons behind the tightness and limited mobility in my neck, back, and shoulders. The instability of my shoulder blades can be attributed to repetitive weight training that primarily engages larger muscle groups while neglecting the stabilising muscles of the shoulders. Additionally, my frequent participation in padel contributes to tightness in my chest and shoulders. A holistic and gentle treatment, KCR excels in joint mobilisations and deep muscle stretches. The benefits are often immediately noticeable, with reports indicating that it is 90% faster than other clinical norms. Beyond its prowess as a pain relief modality, KCR also aids digestion and reduces stress by enhancing the nervous system. It improves blood circulation, reduces muscle tension, enhances range of motion and flexibility and promotes long-term health and wellbeing.

Client Testimonials “I went to see Sal with a long term back injury after visiting many physios who had made the discomfort and pain worse in my back. After Sal’s first treatment, I immediately felt better. After a few KCR sessions, she really reduced my pain symptoms and gave me long term relief. Even months later I do not suffer from any pain.” “Initially I was so nervous to visit Sal as I have had discs that have been replaced and my surgeon can’t do anything more for my lower back. I have had 4 operations on my shoulder too so I had lost a lot of confidence to exercise. When I came to Sal I actually cried with relief as I was able to move the first time after Sal’s KCR sessions and PT training.”

The Difference Between Falling in Love & Committing to Someone T WORDS: Alex Mellor-Brook, Dating and Relationship Coach,Co-founder at Select Personal Introductions

his is such a loaded distinction, and some of it is cultural. For many cultures, falling in love is not necessarily the basis from which a committed loving relationship grows. For others, falling in love is an essential prerequisite for anything further. So… what’s the difference, how much does it matter, and what do we do about it? Let’s start with some basic concepts. Relationships grow and mature, or fade, or change. There’s no one way to navigate these emotions. But we can look at a few differences between these two relationship phases and talk about how they might help us move forward, whether that’s into something deeper or out towards something new. It’s important to remember that some people fall in love - and out of love - easily, while others may only experience this once in a lifetime. Love, whatever else it is, is something we simply can’t control.

Love lacks timing commitment relies on it Let’s start with the toughest reality of all. We can fall in love with someone who just

isn’t ready, or able, to love us back. That’s painful and sometimes demoralising and it can take us a long time to accept that reality - in fact sometimes we never do and that’s why unrequited love exists. Commitment, on the other hand, is all about timing - about making time for each other and about agreeing to put your relationship first, even when you don’t feel like it. It’s about accepting that there may be long periods of give, without much take, and that we’re going to try and be okay about that, because we understand that’s what our partner needs from us right then.

Falling in love is unintentional, committing is intentional As every romantic novel confirms, we can’t choose who to fall in love with. Shakespeare knew this when he wrote ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ and the key feature of that play is how often the characters fall in and out of love with each other. So if we can’t control falling in love, should we trust it? Of course we should, but we shouldn’t base our dreams of the future on something as unpredictable as falling in love. The good news is that falling in love is often the beginning of a process that leads to commitment - settling together for the long term.

passion and obsession, and we might feel happy, joyous, and giddy. But it may not go any deeper than that surface rush of feelings. When we commit to someone, we are willing to be attached to them whilst still being aware of their faults and flaws, we might have less admiration, but we have more acceptance. We take that person off the pedestal our early feelings put them on, and allow them to be human and different to us, and even to disagree with us.

Love is about what we feel commitment is about what we do Love creates the emotional connection that can lead to commitment. For many of us, it’s the first building block in the creation of a lasting permanent relationship. Combining the intensity of falling in love with the action of deciding to be there for your loved one, no matter what, is what leads to powerful bonds and united lives. www.selectservices.co.uk

Do you agree - or agree to disagree? When we fall in love, we get this amazing feeling around the person we’ve fallen in love with, it often contains admiration, 47

MEET THE CHEF:

K ANE

WILLIAMS Head Chef at The Barn at Moorhall Top tip for guests coming to your restaurant. I would say you need to make sure you leave room for dessert! What dish on your menu would you recommend? The Belted Galloway short rib glazed with black garlic, shallot, hen of the woods and smoked marrow sauce - it’s a perfect combination of what everyone wants to eat. What is your most popular dish? Currently the baked caramel custard and chocolate tart, with fresh cream and pear. It’s the perfect spring dessert. What’s your first food related memory? It would have to be Friday night Pizza, which we had every week as a young child. I find family memories are often connected by food. When did you know you wanted to be a chef? From the age of 9. I grew up on a farm, growing vegetables and herbs and always had a keen interest in cooking and the process of creating a dish.

Describe your style in three words. Simple, bold, flavourful. Where do you draw your creative inspiration from? We are very lucky at Moor Hall to have a garden full of inspiration and seasonal ingredients. I draw on what is in season and ready to be harvest/eaten, as well as local produce to create dishes. What four ingredients are necessary in your kitchen? The key four: Salt, sugar, butter, and vinegar. What would you want to have as your last meal? Cote de Boeuf, chips, tomato salad and béarnaise sauce. Are there any foods you just don’t like? I’m afraid to say, Spaghetti Bolognaise – it’s too messy! What do you think is the most challenging ingredient to work with? Chocolate can be challenging! It requires a lot of patience. Do you do the cooking at home? Sometimes, but my fiancé, Yasmin is a great cook. What advice would you offer to an aspiring chef? Travel around and take everything in, eat at as many restaurants as possible. thebarn.moorhall.com 51

hether you’re celebrating a milestone birthday, anniversary, or something else entirely, there’s always a reason to explore the world. So, if you have a big occasion coming up, why not make it really special by combining it with an experience that goes beyond your usual holiday ideas? A rail adventure is a joyful way to celebrate, allowing you to see multiple places in one trip. I love the timeless glamour of the Venice Simplon-OrientExpress, which chugs its way through some of Europe’s most alluring cities in unrivalled style. Follow the route to Venice, perhaps combining it with a stay at Lake Como’s Grand Hotel Tremezzo. From weddings in their beautiful Winter Garden to cocktail parties along the glistening waters, it’s pure elegance. An African safari is one of those magical experiences that every traveller should have. In the Maasai Mara, Kenya’s best-known savannah, mark a special occasion by witnessing the Great Migration, when millions of thundering wildebeest stampede by. After sighting precious wildlife in their natural habitat, you can head to the beaches

of Zanzibar or Mauritius to reflect and relax with your loved ones. If you’re craving both adventure and culture, I recommend visiting the Himalayan paradise of Bhutan. With its soaring snow-capped mountains, strings of prayer flags and iconic sights of Tiger’s Nest Monastery and the Phobjikha Valley, there are so many unforgettable moments to treasure. I suggest a visit during the Tsechu festival celebrations, so you can watch the monks perform their traditional dances. Finally, if you’re looking for a party to celebrate with, I couldn’t miss out on the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix! Witness the electric finale in November with our sports operator, spectatetravel.co. uk, and opt for a private hospitality suite for a VIP experience. Following the post-race concert and after-parties, jet off to the Indian Ocean for a chilled-out beach escape. inspiringtravel.co.uk

ith a destination restaurant serving imaginative takes on French classics, a rooftop bar open late for cocktails and cinematic views over Paris, plus a newly opened oyster bar and nightclub with a speakeasy vibe, this is a hotel with one foot in the flamboyant past and one foot making bold moves in the present.

Location Set in the artistic Pigalle neighbourhood, this Art Deco beauty from Paris-based boutique hotel group, Orso Hotels, has now revived Le Mikado, the capital’s muchloved nightclub with a bohemian history

History Opened in the atmospheric Pigalle district as The Charleston in 1929, within sight of the Sacré Coeur, this hotel has a colourful history with a soundtrack that runs from Jazz Age dance tunes and Creole beguine to tango and French pop. Toasted by the intellectual and creative names of the day – from Maurice Chevalier to Josephine Baker – it was revived and reimagined by the Orso Hotels group, working with Festen interior design, before reopening as Hotel Rochechouart in October 2020.

Style Throughout Hotel Rochechouart’s eight floors, original features set the tone, with the Art Deco staircase, bluetiled mosaic and glass elevator sparking a contemporary response by interior design duo Festen. Wood, brass and marble create a classic ambience, matched with terracotta, bronze and green paint colours. Most of the 106 bedrooms conjure a sense of stylish nostalgia, with vintage brass lamps, alabaster sconces and parquet floors, while guests can rendezvous in the sitting room and library. Walls are lined with a curated collection of black-andwhite photography, landscapes sketches and sculptures,

The Rooftop Bar at the Rochechouart offers a 360° view across Paris, a well-considered menu. In the four corners of this beautiful space, plants bloom between the wrought iron tables and the cosy benches. In this garden, aromatic herbs such as rosemary, lemon thyme, hibiscus and lavender bloom for a bit of fresh country air in Paris! reflecting the artistic energy of Pigalle. These are joined by contemporary watercolours by Tiffany Bouelle, a Franco-Japanese painter and visual artist who was inspired by the Art Deco shapes of the building.

Food & Beverage The menu at Rochechouart Restaurant features many French classics along with signature dishes such as duck and foie gras pithiviers and sole Mikado in a caper and lemon sauce. The Citron et Huîtres oyster bar next to the hotel was designed by interior architect Marion Mailaender. Pull up a stool at the counter and order platters of seafood and crudos with a glass of Champagne and natural wines on the side.

Le Mikado Nightclub The hotel’s legendary nightclub reopened its doors in November 2022, ushering in a new era for an address once graced by Maurice Chevalier, Jean Gabin and Josephine Baker. Edith Piaf’s mother sang here several times, Johnny Halliday frequented the club in the 1960s and Brigitte Bardot’s designer ran soirées here. The tradition continues with a lively programme of DJs and live music playing disco, funk and house music from Thursday to Saturday, reflecting the club’s history and an opium-den-style design that features Japanese lanterns, disco balls and lounge sofas.

Personal Note Hotel Rochechouart’s is hotel time travel at its best – a direct link to the Paris of Josephine Baker, Langston Hughes and Edith Piaf, with oysters and Champagne on tap and dance music to stir the soul. Reinventing the belle époque for 2023. hotelrochechouart.com

M A ST STE E RPIE RPIEC CE Stood on the island of Giudecca, overlooking the city, Craig Hough visited Hilton Molino Stucky Venice, a former flourishing flour mill, now a tranquil retreat Location As Venice is a city on water, the most elegant way to arrive to the island of Giudecca is by water taxi, which is a thrilling 30 minute ride. Giudecca is a thriving artistic neighbourhood and galleries and artists’ studios are all a short walk from the hotel. The island is a calm haven, away from the tourist area of St Mark’s Square, which is easily reached by the Hilton’s shuffle boat that runs throughout the day and into the night.

History The hotel is situated in one of the most well-known industrial buildings on Giudecca Island and is recognised as one of the most beautiful flour mills in Europe. The first project dates back to 1884 and was commissioned by the Venetian entrepreneur

Giovanni Stucky to the German architect Ernst Wullekopf. It consisted of a simple, red brick building which rose over the demolished ruins of the Convent and Church of St. Biagio and Cataldo. In 1895 the building added a tower, a flower deposit and an elegant neo-gothic façade. The addition of a pasta factory and silos saw the mill grow to cover an area of more than 30.000 square meters where 50 tons of flour were produced daily. At its peak, 1500 people worked in the mill 24 hours per day. Conflicts of war and increasing competition from the mainland as well as the death of Giovanni Stucky led the mill to a slow but relentless

downfall which led to its abandonment in 1955. In 1988 the Ministry of Cultural Heritage decided to set a restrictive clause on the entire building and agreed on its conversion to a hotel complex, which opened on 1st June 2007. The preservation of the name and architecture of the ancient Molino is aimed at keeping alive the memory of its past and at respecting Giovanni Stucky’s philosophy to “create a long-lasting relationship with the township of Venice”. The team at Hilton Molino Stucky Venice are incredibly proud of its history and were quick to point out the original features they have kept, including the original bell which is on display in the lobby area, used to indicate to mill workers the start and end of their shifts and the original wooden beams seen in corridors and in rooms.

Rooms & Suites The hotel boasts 379 rooms and suites, and you have the option of a traditional Venetian-style room or you can enjoy the timeless design of the Molino rooms and suites that offer beautiful views of the city, something I didn’t tire of seeing each morning. The hotel has seen a series of recent refurbishments, including new sophisticated deluxe rooms by Studio CaberlonCaroppi and new spacious, elegant suites, including the new Presidential Suite by Studio Forino. The suite is now the highest and largest suite in town, with private access to the hotel’s incredible rooftop pool and bar. The eForea Spa is the perfect place to unwind after a flight or after a busy day of exploring the labyrinth of the city. Veronica and the team offer the most relaxing ‘Couple’s Venetian Massage’ which leaves you well rested. The team offers a selection of treatments, including their signature Molino body flour and honey scrub that pays homage to the impressive past of the building. The spa area also hosts a sauna and hammam as well as a small gym.

Food and Beverages The hotel offers 4 restaurants and bars, including a panoramic rooftop bar, the highest in Venice. For lovers of dining al fresco, Aromi Restaurant offers spectacular views on its summer terrace overlooking Venice and the Giudecca Canal. You can experience authentic Venetian flavours in Bacaromi Restaurant including the famous Cicchetti and fresh pasta to fish delicacies and grilled meat. The Rialto Bar and Restaurant is much more informal - perfect for a coffee or a light lunch. The highlight, for me, was The Skyline Rooftop Bar which is the perfect spot for romantic sunset

views. Bar Manager Sebastiano Scarpa’s and the team are incredibly attentive and suggest a signature cocktail that best suits you. I trialled the bar’s signature ‘Red Hot Chilli Pepper’ – which was a spicy tequila and pineapple delight. This summer they are shaking things up with an experimental mix of over 16 new cocktails that include ‘The Tower’, a new take on the Bloody Mary with whisky-pleated essence and tequila in a tall glass, recalling the iconic, red-bricked tower of the magnificent Molino Stucky building.

Epicurean Events This summer the hotel has several special events lined up for food and drink lovers including a series of lagoon-side ‘Taste & Soul’ live music events at Aromi and Bacaromi restaurants. Taking place weekly from 21st July – 25th August on the restaurants’ terraces, guests will enjoy a gourmet dinner and wine tasting accompanied by live music. The Skyline Rooftop Bar will also play host to a series of ‘Sky Beats’ DJ sets on the 2nd July and 20th August. In celebration of World Rum Day (8th July) and World Tequila Day (6th August), a duo of themed rooftop events will provide spirit tasting alongside an exclusive range of cocktails celebrating the very best of each ingredient. In addition, the hotel will celebrate the 500-year-old

Venetian festival of Redentore on 15th July, when fireworks signal the day of the Feast of the Most Holy Redeemer. A very special Gala seven-course dinner will be prepared, offering local delicacies and wine pairings, followed by a spectacular fireworks display that can be admired from the rooftop.

Personal Note After a busy day of exploring the city, Hilton Molino Stucky Venice is the perfect place to find calm and tranquillity. For those who wish to fit as much adventure into their trip as possible, the hotel offers a concierge service at the reception that will happily create an itinerary and book in at all the local attractions which include private shopping trips, a workshop on the art of glass making on Murano Island or taking a private gondola tour. The Presidential Suite is a masterpiece in itself and offers the perfect backdrop if you were looking to pop the question. Handily, the hotel also offers a large ballroom, so you could always return to host your big day. Perfect for couples, business meetings or groups looking to celebrate and explore, Hilton Molino Stucky Venice is a must-visit. hilton.com

Folgore is the Italian word for thunderbolt, but it’s also the word Maserati has used to single out its forthcoming electric cars. So here is the new Grecale Folgore, an electric version of the SUV built to rival the Porsche Macan and the Range Rover Velar. Maserati is promising fitting levels of performance from the car that’s set to crown the Grecale line-up, with more than 500bhp and a 105kWh battery that should provide ample range. What’s more, similar technology will crop up elsewhere in the Maserati line-up, with Folgore versions of the MC20 supercar and the new GranTurismo coupe already in the pipeline. Lightning, it seems, will strike at least three times. Maserati Grecale Folgore, maserati.com

DRIVE SUNDAY SCRAMBLER

Keeping you up to date with all the latest motoring and technology news WORDS: JAMES FOSSDYKE

Lamborghini’s intriguing naming policy continues with the new hybrid hypercar, which is set to offer more than 1,000bhp.

W

e’ve become accustomed to Lamborghini using strange Spanish words to name its cars. Gallardo is the Spanish word for ‘gallant’, Huracan means ‘hurricane’ and, perhaps most fittingly, Murcielago means ‘bat’. But possibly the most bats of all Lamborghini’s names is Revuelto, as in ‘huevos revueltos’, or ‘scrambled eggs’. Yep, revuelto basically means messed up, and the new Lamborghini Revuelto certainly has a bit of a personality problem. You see, Lamborghini is not immune to the pressures that have seen Ferrari, Porsche and McLaren build hybrid supercars, yet it considers the naturally aspirated V12 petrol

68

engine to be a key part of its character. So instead of changing everything, the Italian brand has simply created a V12 with a hint of hybrid power, then declined to call it a hybrid. Instead, it says this is a HPEV, or high-performance electrified vehicle. Whatever you want to call it, it certainly looks like a Lamborghini. And it goes like one, too. With just over 1,000bhp, the Revuelto can get from 0-62mph in 2.5 seconds, and from 0-124mph in less than seven seconds. At full chat, it’ll cover ground at “more than 350km/h (217mph)”. Perhaps it’s called Revuelto because that’s what it’ll do to your brain. Lamborghini Revuelto, £TBC, lamborghini.com

Mercedes-Benz’s flagship SUV, the GLS, already had presence, but now its German maker has decided to give the car even more visual impact. A new front end and a more modern rear have been applied to the seven-seat luxury bus, while those inside will benefit from tons more standard equipment. A Burmester sound system is thrown in, along with a 360-degree manoeuvring camera and augmented reality navigation. And for those who want the ultimate luxury SUV, there’s always the Maybach version with its even more upmarket interior and extra technology. Oh, and the bigger wheels. Don’t forget those. NAMES CAN BE DECEPTIVE Gordon Murray might sound like your accountant’s golf buddy, but he’s one of the biggest names in the automotive business. The former Formula 1 designer has enjoyed plenty of success on the track and the road – notably with the McLaren F1 hypercar – and now he’s created his own car company, building lightweight supercars for enthusiasts. The T.33 Spider is the latest creation, offering V12 power and an open-cockpit experience to those who want “a truly involving driving experience that’s quite unlike anything else”. Designed around a Cosworth V12 engine and a set of Michelin tyres, the T.33 Spider is set to be one of the most exciting new supercars of 2023. GMA T.33, £TBC, gordonmurrayautomotive.com

The Range Rover’s beginnings were humble, but the do-anything 4x4 has grown into a range of luxury SUVs, and as James Fossdyke has been finding out, the new Range Rover Sport shows just how far it has come

W

hen you think of Range Rovers, you think of big, luxurious SUVs with powerful engines and plush seats. You think of footballers and musicians, of actors and royalty. But that wasn’t always the case. When the original Range Rover was launched in 1970, it was never really a luxury car. Yes, it was more upmarket than the thencurrent Land Rover Series II, the forerunner of the Defender, but it was designed to be hosed out. It was, simply, a more upmarket Land Rover. Nevertheless, the Range Rover evolved into the luxury car we know and love today, and it was a roaring success. So Land Rover built some smaller versions, dubbed Sport, Velar and Evoque. The result is a brand of its own, which is part of the Land Rover family but slightly elevated from the Discovery and Defender models. And it’s a successful brand, selling as many cars as it can make. Take a wander through pretty much any town centre in the land, and you’re almost guaranteed to find at least half a dozen. In many ways, though, the genesis of this expansion was the Range Rover Sport, which is the largest of the ‘smaller’ Range Rovers, sitting beneath the flagship model in the line-up. It was also the first, and perhaps the most important. For me, it’s also the best. Big enough to be useful and small enough not to be a pain, the Sport has historically managed to carefully balance space, size, luxury, performance, comfort and handling, all while looking classy. But now there’s a new model, and though it promises more of the same, can it really be as good as its predecessor? From the moment you see the new Range Rover Sport, things look good. The styling is an evolution of the old car, and that means you get more or less the same basic shape, but with a more modern interpretation of the panels and lights. It looks cleaner than before, and it’s in keeping with the larger ‘standard’ Range Rover. In fact, unless you put the two side by side, it isn’t all that easy to tell them apart. And if you think the external design looks good, just wait until you see the interior. Land Rover has

70

pulled out all the stops in there, giving the Sport much the same treatment as the bigger Range Rover. That means you get this fresh, modern feel with a clean dashboard and a massive central touchscreen, which makes the whole car feel much more modern. Admittedly, it isn’t perfect – the screen is difficult to read in bright mode and the steering wheel buttons feel decidedly cheap – but other than that it’s a fantastic place to spend time. There’s soft leather trim everywhere, and though the neoprenestyle material on the gear lever is an odd choice, it makes it feel really tactile. But my favourite feature is the massive swathe of cloth on the doors, which covers the Meridian sound system’s speakers. The result is an interior that isn’t quite as solid as that of a Porsche Cayenne – the clear class leader in terms of quality and performance – but the Range Rover still feels light and airy and spacious, as well as incredibly upmarket. And it isn’t all style over substance, either, because the space in the back is cavernous. Even at 6ft 2in, I fit in there just fine, and there’s more than enough space to get comfortable. Add in the light provided by the optional glass roof and there are few more comfortable ways to travel. Of course, that’s partly down to the brilliant suspension fitted to the new Range Rover Sport. This is a big, heavy car, but it wafts along like a cloud on the motorway, simply floating over any bumps and lulling you into a state of worrying relaxation. The silky smooth 3.0-litre straight-six petrol engine helps, too, producing barely a whisper of noise even at high speeds. Fortunately, there’s plenty of safety kit to keep you out of trouble if your attention begins to wander. But gobbling motorway miles is not all the Sport is good for. It clearly hasn’t forgotten its 1970s roots, and the Land Rover badge on the front acts as a kite mark guaranteeing the Range Rover Sport’s off-road capabilities. With the ability to wade through 90cm of water and simply glide over rocks up to 27cm tall, the Range Rover Sport is more or less unstoppable off-road. It’s unstoppable on the road, too. Land Rover offers customers a wide selection of engines,

Range Rover Sport P440e Price: £98,990 as tested Gearbox: Eight-speed automatic Engine: 3.0-litre straight-six petrol plug-in hybrid 0-62mph: 5.8 seconds Top speed: 140mph Power: 434bhp

from ‘basic’ 3.0-litre petrol and diesel units to the more powerful V8 engines, but we tested one of the supposedly more eco-friendly plug-in hybrids, which combines a battery and an electric motor, as well as a petrol engine. That means you can, on journeys of up to, say, 50 miles, simply use the car as an electric vehicle, charging up when the battery runs low. Or you can use the petrol engine on long journeys, just as you normally would. Naturally, the result is great efficiency – many customers will seldom use the petrol engine, assuming they charge the battery regularly – but power is a by-product. When you combine the might of the two propulsion systems, you get plenty of performance. There’s a 434bhp version and a 503bhp version, but both will get from 0-62mph in less than six seconds.

72

The problem is weight and stopping a car laden with big batteries and a big engine takes some doing. It’s an issue for the Range Rover Sport, but not an insurmountable one. Because while the car is big and comfortable in its standard settings, it comes alive when you choose Dynamic mode on the Terrain Response system. At that point, the soft, lumbering 4x4 becomes the Millennium Falcon of the road, snapping its way through corners with remarkable stability and agility. It’s like a completely different car. All of which makes the Range Rover Sport a fantastic all-rounder, and a car that’s arguably the ultimate do-anything vehicle. While a Porsche Cayenne Coupe is slightly more fun on the right road, the Sport is better off-road, and the cabin is better to look at, even if it feels slightly less sturdy. Whichever way you cut it, the Range Rover Sport remains one of the greatest SUVs on sale, and it fully deserves to retain its place as the go-to luxury 4x4.

Neptune Knutsford is one of over 30 Neptune stores across the UK and Europe. We take a look at what makes this retailer so unique

N

eptune’s commitment to quality design has remained constant since their conception in 1996, guided by their pledge to make furniture that will last for 100 years. With throwaway culture still prevalent in today’s world, this is a company that does things differently. The retailer’s extensive collection includes expertly crafted designs for both home and garden. Their philosophy is choosing the right material for the right purpose. For instance, solid oak and Carrara marble showcase the beauty of natural materials, while hardwood plywood ensures structural stability. They reject MDF and chipboard as harmful to their customers and the environment. Indeed, Neptune is on a mission to

become the most sustainable home and lifestyle brand by 2030. Their production house is powered by energy-efficient heat pumps and recycles and reuses as many byproducts as possible. They source anything they can’t make themselves from local suppliers like Marlborough Tiles and Bristol Weaving Mill, who share their commitment to heritage craft and sustainable production. Reputation is the most important measure of success for this business, which is evident at every stage of the product lifecycle. Their diligent, cohesive approach to service extends from their design team to the drivers who deliver the finished piece to your home. With 20 years of expertise behind them, interior design was a natural progression for Neptune. The original Kitchen Design Service was soon followed by home design, and they recently launched a colour consultancy. With experts based in each of their stores, Neptune’s is a cohesive and

accessible approach to interior design. The stores themselves are further proof that this is no ordinary retail model. Their dedicated team source or build unique properties and transform them into spaces that feel like living, breathing homes. A Neptune store is somewhere to relax, seek inspiration, and browse at your leisure. You will find Neptune Knutsford just south of the town itself. The building, which was built from scratch using locally sourced materials, feels right at home in its rural surroundings. The friendly team are always on hand to introduce you to Neptune’s collections and design services. Neptune Knutsford Chelford Road, Ollerton, WA16 8TA 01565 354002 Knutsford@neptune.com

A

s a premium kitchen brand, with a passion for the outdoors and the values we hold as a company for sustainable materials, it was an organic transition to move towards the outdoor kitchen world. We have been working out our details and a material palette for a few years now in the background waiting for an opportunity to build an outdoor kitchen. When we received the call from Garden Club London asking us if we would like to collaborate with them at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show we jumped at the chance. We met GCL at last year’s show when we worked with them on “working from home sanctuary garden design”. We have a long-standing relationship with Koto Design (specialist sustainable modular architects) who in turn designed the home office modular space for the show we manufactured in our mid-Wales factory. The garden went on to win a Gold for GCL and the sponsors, Hamptons. This year’s theme is a Mediterranean setting that required an outdoor kitchen, so we’ve taken the opportunity to use the show to launch our Arcadia Collection. Keeping our passion for local timber and sustainable roots intact, all of our outdoor range will be locally sourced homegrown species as per our Highgrove range. For the show, we sourced some really special sweet chestnut, which honey tones blended seamlessly into the Mediterranean colours. We have already had great feedback from various designers at the show and look forward to some great future collaborations showcasing what we can offer outdoors with the same quality and passion delivered from our indoor collections.

BAUHAUS COLLECTION

ARTISAN COLLECTION

Combining timber, metal and concrete, our BauHaus collection creates an organic atmosphere that inspires quality moments. This minimalist collection features a linear design, creating a space that feels balanced and open. The use of flush, handleless doors further accentuates its clean-cut silhouettes while making this a practical choice for busy households. The use of a bold, industrial material palette softens the overall atmosphere, creating an organic feel through décor boards in concrete and metal. Underpinned by a solid timber construction, our BauHaus kitchen collection will inspire your everyday living.

The Artisan delivers a classic Shaker-style kitchen, creating a warm and homely space that’s built for making memories. Simple yet detailed, contemporary yet classic. Our Shaker-style kitchen cabinets feature a clean panel door design that will transition through the decades, delivering a traditional style ideal for modern living. Each cabinet is handcrafted by our craftsmen using traditional techniques and solid timber, combining quality craftsmanship with quality materials. With every detail tailored to your lifestyle, this collection will be the heart of your home for generations to come.

HYGGE COLLECTION The Hygge is all about creating a warm and welcoming space that nurtures a sense of contentment, belonging and soul; somewhere everyone wants to be. Featuring clean lines and flush doors, our Hygge collection is designed for modern-day living with effortless upkeep. Paired with a neutral palette influenced by Scandinavian style, the minimalist and natural design creates a calming space that both relaxes and invites. Every element of this collection is individually handcrafted with expert craftsmanship, using natural materials in a combination of solid timber and veneer. The result is a timeless and sustainable kitchen built to withstand the test of time.

HIGHGROVE COLLECTION Kitchens are where life happens and memories are made. Our Highgrove collection reflects this, creating both cabinetry and furniture that tells a story in the very grain of its construction. During the handcrafting process, you’ll have the opportunity to join us at our factory and choose the exact position of various boards. Whether there’s a particular knot or wood grain pattern you want to display, this ensures a finish that’s entirely personal to you. This sustainable kitchen collection was inspired by the kitchen we had the honour of creating for King Charles at Highgrove House when he was the Prince of Wales, which was constructed using locally sourced Welsh Oak. kentonjones.com

FAIRVIEW Our client engaged us to remodel and extend his cottage sitting within the green belt just outside Wilmslow. The existing house needed updating and the flow of the house didn’t work – with a series of small rooms upstairs, an oversized lounge at the ground floor, a cramped staircase and a poorly built conservatory to the rear. One of our major goals for this project was to make the most of the extraordinary views to the rear – with rolling fields in the foreground and amazing views of the peak district beyond. By reorganising the space upstairs and extending at first floor, we created two

92

double bedrooms and a master suite with an external balcony and a stunning bathroom. We also installed internal insulation to the walls and roof space to improve the thermal properties of the house. On the ground floor, the main living space is open plan, however, a further lounge and study have been created to the front of the house by dividing the existing large lounge, thus giving plenty of flexible living accommodation. The rear of the house, at ground and first floor, has full high glazing framing the fantastic scenery. As you walk through the front door the impact is incredible – Kimble Roden are extremely proud of this transformation.

KIMBLE RODEN’S SERVICE IS BROKEN DOWN INTO FIVE STAGES: #1 - The Briefing Meeting: Understanding the brief is fundamental to the design process. #2 - Concept Design Proposal: They bring your vision to life by creating comprehensive design proposals which include 3D drawings, plans and images. #3 - Planning Application: Once the design is approved, they will submit the planning application and deal with the planning department to drive a successful outcome

#4 - Detailed Design: Once Planning is granted, they prepare a package of detailed construction drawings and interior packages. #5 - Project Execution and Delivery: Finally, they oversee the entire build to give you peace of mind and ensure your project is delivered in line with the original vision.
