Gathering with friends and family is what the holidays are all about! Slowing things down a bit to enjoy the things that matter most with those who matter most to us! By definition, a party is a gathering of people who have been invited by a host for the purpose of socializing, conversation, recreation, or as part of a festival or other commemoration of special occasion. When it comes to entertaining, there are so many styles and different ways to approach hosting an event from a simple get-together with friends + family to a formal sit down dinner. We love any form of entertaining but our favorite parties of course include our little peanuts. We will be the first to admit that trying to host a party with kids definitely has it’s challenges, but for sure not a reason to avoid hosting a nice dinner if that’s what you fancy. Just because kids are invited to a party

or a dinner doesn’t mean that you have to cater just to them either. This is the perfect time for you to get your adult interaction with your friends so don’t be afraid to eat + drink the things you love! We are here to teach ways to entertain this season effortlessly + stress free! The table setting is usually the main focal point for a dinner party and set the mood for the event. We always love a formal set table but that doesn’t mean it has to feel stuffy or uncomfortable. You can easily make it feel festive + inviting by adding fresh winter greens + candles down the middle of the table. This works perfectly for any budget as well! You can also add home-made wreaths and garlands to the table area to add texture and a touch of holiday cheer. They will also make your home smell amazing for your guests!

Getting your little peanuts involved in the planning + hosting process is the perfect way to teach them about your family traditions. It also makes them feel special to be able to help with important tasks. Let them help with preparing the food + treats by giving them an activity to do like making gingerbread cookies! Yes things might get a tad bit messy but that’s the half the fun right?! You will be surprised at how some dough + cookie cutters can keep them entertained for a long time! Get our gingerbread cookie recipe on pg. 92 of this issue!

MODERN PLAYFUL G IRLS ROOM DESIG N BY BECKY KIMBALL Modern + minimal is just the way we like it but that doesn’t mean that this room is lacking in detail and playfulness! The sleek modern furniture designs paired with different textures and colors is the perfect way to get that contemporary clean look while still making it feel relatable to little peanut. We love the pop of color that the green rug lends to this room design along with the fun textured throw pillows. Bunk beds + loft beds are super hot right now and we especially love the loft bed style that allows for a play place underneath the bed. If you are working with a smaller room and limited space this is the perfect style bed that doesn’t take up much needed play space on the ground.
