Welcome to The City of Liverpool College If you choose to study at the College, you will be joining one of the largest Further Education colleges in the sector with a community of more than 17,000 students. The UK has the largest creative sector in Europe and, growing at twice the rate of other sectors, is proportionately the largest of any in the world. In recent years, the emergence of MediaCityUK (one of the largest media clusters outside London) has given a significant boost to the North West region, adding around ÂŁ170m a year to the economy and creating 10,000 new jobs in the creative and digital business sector. As the only Further Education College in Liverpool, we are helping to meet the demand for skilled people in these sectors by employing dynamic teachers who are experienced industry professionals. We also provide industry standard facilities where students and apprentices can learn the latest techniques and gain the knowledge and skills employers demand from their workforce.

In the heart of the City The City of Liverpool College has six main sites – five of which are in the heart of the City – providing one of the best student experiences in further education. Liverpool’s biggest attractions, including: Liverpool One; the Albert Dock; Bold Street; and the cultural quarter, are on the College’s doorstep, providing a perfect backdrop to your studies. The College is also located within the City’s Knowledge Quarter, including Liverpool John Moore’s University and the University of Liverpool, giving the area a real student atmosphere. The college sites are also easily accessible from rail and bus stations. Sites including the Arts Centre, Learning Exchange, Clarence Street and Duke Street are within easy walking distance of both Central and Lime Street train stations and the main bus terminus.

Campus The Arts Centre Myrtle Street, L7 7JA The Arts Centre has established itself as the leading arts teaching and learning institution on Merseyside, providing specialist arts drawing, painting and sculpting studios and technical facilities, state of the art Mac suite using software current to the sector, industry standard recording studios, premier dance and drama facilities, first-class photography work rooms and modern fashion and multimedia studios. Creative Apprenticeships are run from this centre along with courses in: Art and Design; Computer Science and Digital; Dance; Drama; Musical Theatre; Events Management; Fashion; Graphic Design; Interactive Design; Journalism; Media; Theatre Technology; 3D Design; Music; Music Technology; Multimedia; Photography. Higher Education programmes in Creative and Digital Arts are also run at the Arts Centre. We are a founder college of the National Skills Academy for Creative and Cultural Skills and a lead provider of Fashion courses in the region.
