By turns thrilling, funny, powerful and poetic, this mingling of epic bilingual storytelling and exquisitely haunting folk music casts a potent spell. Vividly evoking the Fourth Branch of the Mabinogion – a treasured medieval Welsh mythology which also inspired Alan Garner's modern classic The Owl Service – this is an electrifying show. Splendid entertainment.
With great charm, enormous wit and a good deal of slapstick glove puppet inventiveness, two familiar tales are interwoven in a fast and funny show for family audiences. A brave Robin Hood goes on a quest to find the missing Little Red Riding Hood, helped by a kind bunny rabbit and hindered by a whacky old wolf who looks more than a little like the Sheriff of Nottingham. Truly funny and captivating, Little Red Robin Hood is rather marvellous.
This rip-roaring alt-folk band brings a roof raising energy to its live shows, imbuing its heartfelt, anthemic songs with feelgood folky footstompin' rhythms and vivid lyricism. Exhilarating to hear.

This joyful, multi-lingual, multi award-winning seven-piece ensemble are remarkable young exponents of Jewish klezmer and traditional styles from Greece, Turkey and the Balkans, reflecting the cultural diversity and living traditions of their North East London home. Weaving virtuosic instrumentation, Dunja Botic's sumptuous and 'spectacular' (BBC Radio 3) vocals, and unbridled musical passion, their uptempo good-time shows are exquisitely freewheeling.
Glorious close harmony singing and plenty of swagger from this pint sized version of the world-wide cult hit male choir The Spooky Men's Chorale. They may come on like a novelty act – dressed in black, sporting impressively silly hats – but they are faultlessly skilful singers with a wild and wonderful blend of original works (the anthemic and very funny Don't Stand Between a Man and His Tool), charmingly quirky cover versions and exquisite traditional Georgian choral songs. One of the funniest bands ever; a hugely entertaining collision between beauty and stupidity, and hairiness.

PETER CHAND TONGUE TIED & TWISTED This family duo of master storyteller and live DJ adds a fresh twist to a compelling collection of near-forgotten South Asian fables gathered from Punjabi elders living in the Black Country. With Peter Chand's cheeky smile, wry humour and rich voice, accompanied by a smart onstage soundtrack of contemporary and classical South Asian music, this energetic and endlessly inventive storytelling show is a triumph.
This brilliant Dutch streetband showcases its energetic, highly eccentric, and very catchy trad-influenced comedic-jazz, jumping into the crowd at every opportunity, kidnapping audience members, staging mock weddings. Dazzlingly funny, they bring a smile to everyone's face.

SHIFTING SANDS THEATRE THE KING LEAR
SHEESHAM AND LOTUS & ‘SON IN CONCERT
Giving a modern, slightly irreverent comedic twist to Shakespeare's popular tragedy, this acclaimed clown-theatre company sets the action in a pub in the here and now, with pub landlord as king. By turns hilarious and heart breaking, this compellingly inventive retelling mixes vibrant storytelling with pathos and warm humour, faithful to Shakespeare's magnificent text whilst injecting new life and energy into it. A marvellous night.
Using a host of vintage instruments, this show-stopping Canadian trio serves up riotous, high stepping, sepia-tinted old-timey stringband music with roots in the vaudeville and juke joints of the American South. Oozing authenticity and dynamism this is hugely entertaining, and all in all a lovely, must-see treat. Truly they are the new kings of old-time.
