The Village Ventures Rural & Community Touring Network Nottinghamshire helps voluntary promoter groups bring rural communities together to enjoy high-quality, entertaining and affordable professional live theatre, music, dance and family shows at a wide range of community venues, from village halls, to churches, to schools. Tickets are sold locally. For show information, ticket prices and to book, please call the local promoter directly on the telephone number below each show listing. Ticket prices range from £5 - £15. Many of the shows featured are suitable for family audiences and age recommendations are provided for guidance. Disability access. All venues have a commitment to access for disabled people; many have full access and a range of facilities, and others are working towards this goal. Drawing together musicians from Ashley Hutching's Rainbow Chasers and The Old Dance School to spine-tingling effect, and with a diverse set of old songs and originals, this is an intimate and mesmerising evening of folk music.
This hyperactive all-singing, all-strumming, all-dancing, all-comedy-cabaret-varietytheatrical string quartet explores the mystical, mythical world of fairy-tales, folklore and legends.

This dynamic Nashville-based husband and wife Americana duo surely 'rattle the hocks', crafting real emotive, shiver-upthe-spine-inducing songs – drawn from their hard travelling expeditions along the Mississippi's Great River Road and riding the old American railroad. Passionate, joyful, harmonious and captivating.
This energetic and classy gypsy jazz and swing quartet conjures the heart-warming, hip-swinging sound of 1930s Paris. With loving tributes to the pioneers of the genre, the great gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt and the French violin virtuoso Stéphane Grappelli, joyous treatments of Duke Ellington, Fats Waller and George Gershwin, and fine introductions to the roots and history of the style, this is a rollicking good night out to put a smile on everyone's faces. This joyful, multi-lingual, multi award-winning seven-piece ensemble are remarkable young exponents of Jewish klezmer and traditional styles from Greece, Turkey and the Balkans, reflecting the cultural diversity and living traditions of their North East London home. BOX TALE SOUP THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS This exuberant, award-winning puppet company works its magic on a beautiful new adaptation of Kenneth Grahame's evergreen classic riverbank story: gleeful larks, messing about in boats, incorrigible amphibians, 'poop-poop', the menacing Wild Wood, wicked weasels and an almighty dustup to finish with. Join jittery Ratty, amiable Mole, bluff Badger and swaggering Toad on their marvellous adventures. With fantastic homespun fabric puppetry and completely charming original music, the show generates non-stop energy and high good humour from its two-strong cast, wowing audiences.
BADAPPLE THEATRE AMY JOHNSON With brilliant storytelling – funny, poignant and compelling – this is an enthralling portrait of Hull's 'First Lady of the Air', Amy Johnson, one of the world's most famous aviators who in 1930 became the first woman to fly solo between Britain and Australia. Using a host of vintage instruments, this show-stopping Canadian trio serves up riotous, high stepping, sepiatinted old-timey string-band music with roots in the vaudeville and juke joints of the American South. Oozing authenticity and dynamism this is hugely entertaining, and all in all a lovely, must-see treat. Truly they are the new kings of old-time.
Six lively, entertaining and mould-breaking musicians take 300 years of music from around the world (and from Baroque to tango) and infuse it with offbeat humour, passion and pathos. With its rich and vibrant sounds this is an unforgettable show.
