ALAW IN CONCERT Great music by a very special acoustic trio that celebrates the Welsh folk tradition; a joyful brew of breath-taking airs, eminently danceable Celtic jigs and delightful traditional song.
‘Quietly reflective gems… uptempo dance pieces.’ Sunday Times
‘Named after the Welsh name for melody, this band of acoustic wizards produce one heck of a rollicking blast of foot stomping Celtic glory… an intoxicating blend of beautiful music that does wonders for the wider appreciation of traditional Welsh music.’ Acoustic Magazine Ages: 7+

A PARLOUR CONCERT WITH MISTER KEITH A splendid evening of gently quirky, expertly crafted songs – think Ray Davies, Squeeze – stories and humour by the self-professed originator of 'Victorian Pop'. With song styles varying from jaunty showground to slow lament, all carried forward by lilting melodies and warm, quintessentially English vocals, the bowler-hatted Mister Keith and his mini 'orchestra' of multi-instrumentalists invoke memories of times gone by. An intimate little gem.

ADVERSE CAMBER DREAMING THE NIGHT FIELD: A LEGEND OF WALES TANGRAM THEATRE THE ELEMENT IN THE ROOM... A clever, heartfelt and highspirited science-theatre show about pioneering, Nobel prizewinning scientist Marie Curie, from the awardwinning John Hinton (not actually a scientist). Replete with big theories, exhilarating experiments, terrible puns, and seriously silly songs, this astonishing show radiates oddball charm and infectious glee.
By turns thrilling, funny, powerful and poetic, this mingling of epic bilingual storytelling and exquisitely haunting folk music casts a potent spell. Vividly evoking the Fourth Branch of the Mabinogion – a treasured medieval Welsh mythology which also inspired Alan Garner's modern classic The Owl Service – this is an electrifying show. Splendid entertainment.

NOBLE JACKS IN CONCERT This rip-roaring alt-folk band brings a roof raising energy to its live shows, imbuing its heartfelt, anthemic songs with feelgood folky footstompin' rhythms and vivid lyricism. Exhilarating to hear.
‘Crackerjack live shows... undeniably catchy.’ fRoots Magazine
‘Upbeat live set... combines (the) catchy hooks of folk bands such as the Levellers with the foot stomping and fiddle shuffling of artists such as Seth Lakeman, along with earthy, warm and ambient vibes of The Eagles/Mumford and Sons.’
KATHRYN ROBERTS & SEAN LAKEMAN IN CONCERT BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards Best Duo winners 2013 and 2016. Long established as one of the UK folk scene's most rewardingly enduring partnerships, Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman are 'songwriters par excellence' (fRoots Magazine), their music tuneful, intelligent and soulful. TIM KLIPHUIS TRIO GOES GRAPPELLI
BGROUP DANCE POINT OF ECHOES
This award-winning Dutch jazz violinist is seen by many as the inheritor of jazz violin legend Stéphane Grappelli's crown. Here, his trio, now in their 11th year, bring their compelling interplay to Grappelli's highenergy gypsy swing and jazzed-up classical tunes.
Hovering at the boundary between dance and theatre, Point of Echoes blends the whimsical tones of a Wes Anderson movie with the uncanny dread of The Twilight Zone. This affecting nautical tale explores how the relationship between two keepers at an isolated lighthouse runs aground when a mysterious figure enters their lives. Renowned international choreographer Ben Wright creates the first commission for the Rural Touring Dance Initiative, an intimate new dance-theatre work for community halls.

Work of real beauty and quality.’ The Guardian Ages: 15+ Commissioned by the Rural Touring Dance Initiative (making the best dance happen in small spaces), Warwick Arts Centre and Dance East. Supported by Arts Council England.
GONZO MOOSE THE THING THAT CAME FROM OVER THERE! This critically acclaimed comedy-theatre trio delivers a crazy, enormously inventive and devilishly funny 1950's horror movie spoof. As Scott and Amundsen begin their 1912 race to the South Pole, the hapless explorer Captain Reginald Cranston Scottt investigates a crashed meteor, unaware of the ancient evil that awaits him. A night of shocks, blood-curdling terror, hilariously gruesome deaths and glorious, unadulterated, spine tingling silliness. ★★★★

JOHN HINTON ENSONGLOPEDIA OF SCIENCE
THE OXFORD CONCERT PARTY IN CONCERT
A remarkably inventive, fun-filled one-man musicalcomedy-science family show from the top-drawer storyteller John Hinton (not actually a scientist). 26 silly science-songs to delight the inquisitive mind, one for every letter of the alphabet. Expect atoms, Big Bangs and cells. Expect X-rays, Y-chromosomes and zoology aplenty. Expect the unexpected. And expect it to rhyme. If you think that science is boring, think again: an absolute joy.
Six lively, entertaining and mould-breaking musicians take 300 years of music from around the world (and from Baroque to tango) and infuse it with offbeat humour, passion and pathos. With its rich and vibrant sounds this is an unforgettable show.

THE MEE CLUB: TRUE TALES TOLD LIVE WORKSHOP/PERFORMANCE We know you have a story in you. Unleash it. Conjure a memory, recent or ancient, good or bad. Tell it to yourself, hone it, cut it, embellish it. Get on stage and tell it. When ordinary people stand up and tell true tales about their lives, the honesty, humour, warmth, vulnerability and sadness in those stories makes a human connection unlike any other art form. Following in the footsteps of hot-ticket New York storytelling club The Moth, The Mee Club champions the art and craft of true-life storytelling, drawing people together through the telling of confessional tales. Cat Weatherill, 'one of our great storytellers' (Michael Morpurgo, War Horse author), leads a fun and unpretentious workshop for anyone tempted by the idea of telling a true-tale but who does not know where to begin, looking at how to find your story, shape it, present it. There then follows an amazing night of live storytelling, which sees Cat, special guest teller Jane Campion Hoye and workshop participants share their brilliant true-tales – wonderful, poignant, inspiring, sometimes weird, often very funny – straight from the heart, live on stage. A truly empowering, and entertaining, experience. Workshop places £10; performance is Pay What You Can.
