The Stylistics were one of the best-known Philadelphia soul groups of the 1970s. They are famed for their ballads, graced by soaring falsetto vocals and lush yet graceful productions, which helped make them one of the most successful soul groups of all time. The band had twelve straight U.S. top ten hits, including Stop, Look, Listen (To Your Heart), You Are Everything, Betcha by Golly, Wow, I'm Stone in Love with You, Break Up to Make Up and You Make Me Feel Brand New. The Saw Doctors hit the road to promote the band’s current studio album, The Further Adventures of The Saw Doctors with this 20th Anniversary show. Fronted by two brilliant songwriters, Leo Moran and Davy Carton, this is the band that entered the record books back in 1990 when I Useta Lover spent nine weeks at number one, becoming Ireland's best-selling single of all time. They followed up with the No 2 hit, N17, and a chart-topping album, If This Is Rock And Roll, I Want My Old Job Back. The Australian acoustic guitar player is a two-time Grammy nominee who coaxes more sounds and complexities from a guitar than you will believe are possible. He mesmerises fellow musicians and audiences alike with the unique style he calls simply 'finger style'. It is akin to playing guitar the way a pianist plays piano, using all ten fingers: his live performances have to be seen to be believed. The world’s premier Beatle band and their spectacular two hour multi-media stage production features all the classic Beatle hits. Using film footage of the period and ‘with a little help from’ their regular brass and string ensemble, the show traces the history of the Fab Four from Liverpool’s Cavern Club through Sgt Pepper to the Apple rooftop.

Górecki: Polish Spirituals Tuesday 8 November 7.30pm St Georges Hall Concert Room £20
This is a landmark performance by the Polish Radio Choir, one of Poland’s leading choirs, with whom Henryk Mikolaj Górecki worked closely over many years. Górecki gained international acclaim with his haunting Symphony No.3 (Symphony of Sorrowful Songs). His choral music is filled with the same distinctively spiritual lyricism and spontaneous human warmth, celebrating his Polish roots and Catholic faith. This concert is a fitting tribute to Górecki, one of the late twentieth century’s great composers, a year after his death in November 2010. Programme includes Totus Tuus, Three Lullabies, Broad Waters, Song of the Katyn Families, Come Holy Spirit and Amen. Polish Radio Choir Artur Sedzielarz conductor

Since the turn of the century Jimmy Carr has been a ‘fun slinger’ of international repute. Laughter Therapy is his ninth solo show. It’ll be an evening of non-stop jokes, gags and banter. If you’ve got a sick sense of humour then laughter is the best medicine. Not to be taken if you have a sensitive disposition or an overactive moral compass. Recommended dose: one brand new show to be taken annually (I said annually).
Reginald D Hunter has become one of UK Comedy’s best-known and most distinctive performers. His work is often brutally honest, frequently controversial but always meticulously measured and thought out. He is one of the few performers to have been nominated for the highly coveted main Perrier Award in three consecutive years and has become a well-known face on primetime television shows such as Live At The Apollo and QI and is a frequent guest on Have I Got News For You.

Last summer he took Lee Nelson’s Well Good Edinburgh Show to the Fringe, selling every single ticket and receiving rave reviews. ‘It's great stand up: sharp, fast, relentless… What he says is offensive, ignorant and crass, but he does it all with an unfaltering lack of self-awareness and an irrepressible beaming smile. This is a sharp, provocative and very funny.’ Fest
