PRESIDENT’S WELCOME With great pride I’d like to welcome to the 15th Annual Cattleman’s Classic Multi-Breed Bull Sale. One of the longest running multi-breed sales in the province! For the last 15 years we have been a “one stop shop” for the most discriminating cattle producer. Whether you are looking for a Charolais (white or red factor), Hereford or Black Angus bull we have you covered. Selling is one of the finest selections of Charolais bulls in Manitoba. The Charolais division is the largest in numbers and are presented to you by some great breeders. We have had the pleasure to know the Olson, Wilkenson, Hopcraft and Bremner families for years and they are all great people who produce great cattle. The Charolais bulls are anchored by sons of the 2012 Canadian Showbull of the year, Agribition Champion and now Genex feature bull- MVY Xplorer 21X. This is your only source for Xplorer sons in Manitoba and what a set of bulls they are!! Although smaller in numbers, the Hereford bulls are a great set of ranch raised 2 year olds and yearlings that are sure to go out and breed a large number of cows. The Doetzel family are once again consigning a powerful set of Angus bulls this year as you can tell by the pictures you see. Awesome people that are great ambassadors to the Angus breed. We would like to welcome our new consignors to the sale: Bremner Charolais, Sunny Ridge Stock Farms and Twin View Polled Herefords. All are great people that are leaders in their respective breeds. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported our sale over the years and welcome any new buyers. Without your support we wouldn’t be here today. Thank you! Once again we will be broadcasted live on the internet through DLMS for you to view and or bid if you wish to. If you cannot make it to the sale or have any questions about the offering feel free to give myself, the consignors or any of the capable sales staff a call. We would be happy to hear from you. See you at the sale! Merv Nykoliation

TRI-N CHAROLAIS

Welcome to Tri-N Charolais Welcome to our portion of the 15th Annual Cattleman’s Classic Bull Sale. Hard to believe it’s already our 15th sale! We would like to thank all our supporters over the last 14 years that have enabled us to make this an annual event. The old friendships we have made throughout the years and the new ones we make every year is just one of the many reasons we love the purebred beef industry so much! When we first came into the purebred business 28 years ago we aimed to build a herd with the idea that “The cowherd makes the herd bulls” and “let the cow work for you, not you work for the cow.” Not much has changed since then. We have found that the road is long and ever changing but we have tried to stick to that motto. Sound feet and legs, Merv, Joanne and Jesse Nykoliation strong udders and superb easy doing ability are common denominators here. In 2013 Merv, Joanne and Jesse Nykoliation we were honored to of been awarded the highest milk EPD female in Canadian Box 899 Lenore MB R0M 1E0 Charolais history with TRI-N Prairie Rose 401P. Many hours has been spent www.trincharolais.com researching to find suitable herdbulls to complement our cowherd. We are very excited merv1@prairie.ca to offer you the first calves here off of MVY Xplorer bull that was the 2012 Agribition / Canadian Showbull of the year and now Genex feature bull. We are sure you will like (204) 838-2107 (Merv home) them! (204) 851-2290 (Merv cell) (204) 851-3391 (Jesse cell) We are very proud of the bulls we are bringing to town this year. Whether you are looking for a white or red factor bull we have you covered. The genetics offered in this sale are the same genetics we use on our large commercial herd.

Our cowherd is on a complete herd health program including vaccinations for BVD, BRSV and IBR. The bulls were vaccinated with Inforce3 at birth along with all initial and booster requirements for Vista Once SQ and UltrBac Somubac 7. Thus enabling complete requirements for blackleg , BVD, BRSV, IBR immunities. Once again our bulls are fed a high roughage, oats based ration with a complete mineral package from CO-OP feeds. Hay is changed regularly in order to enhance consumption. A few years ago we doubled the pen space for more freedom of movement for the bulls. This will help them better adjust to walking our buyers’ big pastures. More information on our program can be found at www.trincharolais.com or by liking our facebook page.

CATTLE LAC CHAROLAIS Welcome to Cattle Lac Charolais

Hello and welcome to the 15th annual Cattlemen’s Classic Multi Breed Bull Sale. We have on offer for you a 100% polled group of both tan and white bulls, off of three different sires. The first group of bulls are off of our new herd sire Cappy. Cappy was the high seller in Forsyth Bros 2013 sale and boy has he ever done well. His calves are as consistent as they come with tons of depth, loads of style and they are all incredibly quiet. Next we’ve got the X-calibre bulls. We purchased some cows out of Forsyth Bros dispersal in the fall of 2013 and these are the resulting offspring. It just so happened that the majority of bull calves from these cows were sired by X-Calibre. I definitely see this as a positive as they are the commercial cattlemen’s type of bull, with a big thick frame, good long hair and will perform at the top of any pen. The third set of bulls are sired by CJ who sold in last year’s sale to Double P Stock Farms but was used on a few select heifers and as clean up the year before. His calves are low set, thick and he’s a great female maker. If you are looking for a bull to sire some nice replacements then look up one of his sons. The bulls are fed a homemade General oats based ration with mineral and calcium added. They are provided full time grass hay and lots of room to get out and move. Feel free to stop by and have a look at the bulls anytime. Farm visits are always welcome.

688 Barrel is a fitting name for this guy as he is one Jan 14 1106 of the deepest, stoutest, blockiest bulls in the pen. Ive heard it said that there aren’t many pounds between the ground and the belly of a calf and that couldn’t be any truer with this fella. He isn’t the biggest framed animal but he carries enough weight to compete with any bull. He is the only Red Factor Cappy calf and boy is he ever a good one. He has that classic “Cappy” look to him being extremely deep bodied, wide topped and having a real nice rear end on him. His mother is a light tan Cracker Jack daughter who has produced two straight top notch bull calves and has another dark red bull on the ground this year.

Welcome to the 15th annual Cattleman’s Classic Multi Breed Bull Sale. We would like to thank Tri-N Charolais for giving us this opportunity to consign this set of bulls that we present to you today. We are Sunny Ridge Stock Farm of Wawanesa, MB; operated by Ken and Vonda Hopcraft and family Adam, Amanda, and Dustin. We have been raising beef cattle for many years with 150 commercial cows that are all Charolais and Charolais crosses. 2015 marks our 10th year of breeding purebred registered Charolais. Welcome to Bremner Charolais Jack and Lori Bremner & Family Box 512, Dauphin, Manitoba R7N 2V3 Farm: 204-572-4268 jacklori@mymts.net

We run a family operation consisting of myself and my wife Lori and our son Cory. We have 130 cows of which 50 are purebred Charolais. I have always had a full time job and easy calving was a must have in our program. We found that lower birth weights gave more live calves. The bulls were fed a grower ration from Eastman Feeds and free choice grass hay. The ration we used to feed is designed to grow young bulls at three pounds a day. We have found that developing yearlings slowly leads to long working lives for herd bulls. We have had customers use bulls until eight years of age.

NU - HORIZON ANGUS

Welcome to Nu-Horizon Angus Hello Everyone,

We are very excited to have on offer a strong group of red and black angus bulls for you to choose, whether it be a cow or heifer bull to service your females. They were sent to Hagerty Livestock at Pense, Sk on October 13th (weighed) and weighed again February 16th to give you an idea on how they are doing. They do not push these bulls but develop them to aim for an average daily gain of 3.5 pounds per day. This is our second year in this sale and we have appreciated the opportunity to market our bulls with the Nykoliations. In our write-ups this year we tried to give you some information about the dam as she makes up half the bull. We have been striving for strong maternal, high fertility females with good temperament that will work in our program and produce us good, sound, solid bulls and replacement heifers that will perform for us and you. It Kieran, Deb & Kodie Doetzel, Lipton, SK is showing as our replacement pen has been approximately 40 females for the last Phone (306) 336-2245 • Cell (306) 309-0030 two years.
