RANCH RAISED
The Transcon Team Welcomes You!
I’m very sure if you want a Simmental Bull (that looks like a Simmental), and that is sound, good footed, quiet and good haired, you’ll need to see these.
I’ll expand, starting with the Skywest bullpen. On a beautiful January day, we were witnessed to an analysis of 44 sons of different particular sire groups from a large cowherd. This display was also apparent during a summer tour of the prospects. Favourites were seen in each division of the fraternities included. As history will have it, the breeders that own their own herdbulls, (like Virginia Ranch) tend to have an advantage, and the “proof is in the pudding”! In this case, NONE are A.I. sired. This set of Fullblood bulls is virtually incomparable, but without precedence, to any on the continent! They are big, heavy, good haired, large hoofed and QUIET are all adjectives that fit the bill, not to mention, the great people behind them. You can’t buy them from anybody better! Yes a warm day too, which was a nice advantage to the boys, however, gave us a realistic viewpoint, and I don’t need a “tape” to tell you they are “men”.
Move over to the Virginia pen. And by pen, I mean a big ole lounging area that they are well exercised in. It’s always been a priority to have the bulls sound at Virginia Ranch, as they need to be now, and forever, and will work. The genetics are different here, from the past, but these bulls are “developed” as per norm, if not, more so, responsibly as ever. They are fresh, good haired, move free & move freely! Numbers are less, yes, but the internal critique is still there. This man “gets it”, always has, and will always give a product that he would only use himself as he has a commercial cowherd too, but allows you the 1st pick. A good example of this is the three 2-year-olds offered, for the first time ever, two of which are Feb/Mar born “held-overs”and the other, “Millarville”, was used on last year’s Western Harvest sale heifers.
You and I realize we are in an age of technology, this meaning we know that online bidding, videos, etc., are provided for you. But, I think this is a sale that you will want to have your seat planned, grab a Kodiak BBQ lunch & simply enjoy the day. But if you can’t be here with us personally, please don’t hesitate to call any of us at Transcon Livestock. Our cell phones are listed and we are happy to throw a set of eyes on the bulls for you and if we want to progress bidding, we’ll help you there too at no extra cost.
Hope to see you in Innisfail,

Welcome from Virginia Ranch
Virginia Ranch welcomes you to our Annual Bull Sale. We are honoured to be selling alongside our fellow consignors and friends the Edwards family - Skywest Simmentals. With Skywest having purchased 100 cows from us in Dec 2023 – we are happy to see the bulls that have developed from our cows for the Edwards string. At a smaller scale for us this year, we are still proud of the offering we have raised for your appraisal this year. Of these we have three 2 year olds fullbloods, some yearling fullbloods , red purebreds and black purebred bulls; so we feel there is something for everyone. Over the years we have culled our cow herd hard; striving to have mama cows with sound, functional udders, good feet and legs and nice dispositions – all positive traits that should be passed on through their progeny. All of our offering are managed on a total herd health program, and all vaccinations are up to date. Please keep an eye out on the Transcon website www.transconlivestock.com as videos will be available on all lots a couple of weeks prior to sale day. Please know we always welcome visitors to the farm and enjoy the visits when they happen. The fellas are open to your viewing on the farm prior to sale day. Should you not be available to attend on sale day, please reach out to a trusted member of the Transcon Team who we are proud to note have represented our program exclusively for over 30+ years. We will have online bidding available as well. The Innisfail Auction Mart team are our host facility and the The Daines’ family are always helpful and hospitable in doing all they can to make our sale day a success; thank you, it may go unsaid, but it is never un-noticed.

Welcome To Our Sale!
Once again we would like to invite you to the Virginia Ranch / Skywest Simmentals Annual Bull Sale. First of all we would like to thank all of our loyal customers that continue to have confidence in our programs by bidding, buying or taking the time to stop by for a tour and a visit. All of this helps to allow us to do what we love, build Herd Bulls that produce year after year for our customers. As well it is always a pleasure to sell alongside our great friends – The Satchwell Family and Virginia Ranch.
Our goal remains the same by bringing the highest quality bulls to town that would work in a variety of herds, whether your looking for power bulls or calving ease bulls the expectation remains the same. They have to be quiet, structurally sound and ability to cover the ground with ease, which is key during breeding season. If they cant check all those boxes they don’t stick around here. We are continuously on the hunt for new genetics to push our program ahead by purchasing some of the best fleck bulls in the industry.
As this is the first year that the Skywest and newly acquired Virginia Ranch cows have worked together to put this bull pen together, to say it was a success is an understatement. We are confident in saying that this pen of bulls is our strongest to date and all sired by Milsap, Rumble, Synergy, Voltage, Marquee, Dutton, Driller, Rambler, War Cry, Kriptonite.
All of our bulls have been fed together since the end of August in a large spacious pen and fed a TMR ration of cereal silage, free choice hay and Country Junction bull ration pellet.
As always we invite you to the farm prior to the sale if you would like to tour the bull group and see their mothers if interested or feel free to call us anytime to discuss any of the bulls that could potentially work in your program.
We look forward to the visit or seeing you in Innisfail.
Sincerely,
The Edwards Family

With 2024 in our rear view mirror, its time to reflect on Milsap’s first group of progeny selling to the public as he has solidified himself as possibly the hottest bull in the Fleckvieh breed right now. His powerful physical traits, incredibly dark pigmentation while holding the polled gene has led to his first group of bred heifers averaging a jaw dropping $21,000 at the Western Harvest Sale, frozen semen packages averaging $3,833/straw and growing interest from breeders all over Canada, USA, Mexico and Australia. Sire of Lots 35-42.

• “Marco” is a Milsap son that we have a soft spot for as his dam is possibly one of our most favorites females that we have ever sold in Skywest Francene 6F. We were happy to see her go to the great herd of Virginia Ranch on sale day where she eventually raised a $30,000 bred heifer that was sold to Beechinor Bros and a $17,000 open heifer that was sold the following year to Polar Farms and Fallen Timber Farms, BC. When the opportunity to purchase majority of the Virginia Ranch herd came along we knew she was going to be on the list to come back home.
• Francene’s dam was the flush sister to Anchor D Delilah who is still producing for us and out of their top donor cow Saphire 111S who we purchased from Anchor D Simmentals when we swept the ring that day. One of the best purchases we have made to date
