He brings extensive telecoms and television experience to BT having spent 17 years at Carphone Warehouse / TalkTalk. Sportlobster is a social network completely dedicated to sport, bringing all elements into one place by tailoring the fan’s experience to their preferences in sport. Before he co-founded Sportlobster in 2013, Andy attended West Virginia Wesleyan College for four years on a soccer scholarship, which resulted in trials with English Premier League clubs. Unfortunately, a serious injury ended his prospects of a professional career and so he took advantage of his business management degree and returned to his childhood home, Dubai, to launch the Middle East’s first general enquiry service. However, with his passion for sports continuing to burn bright, he first conceptualised the idea of a sports social network, which acted as a one-stop shop for fans, after reading a blog on Novak Djokovic. To turn his idea into something tangible, Andy teamed up with Arron Shepherd in Dubai and they quickly raised funds to kick-off Sportlobster. As a result, he had to shut down his existing business, but with more than two million fans now on Sportlobster, the CEO of the company is more than delighted with the decision.
