A
s finals draw near, and the semester comes to a close, every college students needs some time to unwind and get into the Christmas spirit. During the Holiday Season, many students are still at school mere days before Christmas arrives, and must find their own way to celebrate with their “college family”: their friends. Equipped with good intentions and small budgets, eight friends found their own way to celebrate, with a gift exchange. “I really love the holidays,” said third-year broadcast journalism student Brian Dresdow, “and this is a way I can get together and celebrate with my friends.” They gathered on the eve of finals to share gifts, listen to holiday tunes and enjoy each other’s company before they must go their separate ways for the winter vacation. A small respite from the stress of school, they laughed at and with each other to celebrate the wonder of Christmas. After a rousing game of “Yankee Swap”, a game in which you pass around presents and can steal something you want from a friend, all the guests seemed very happy with their final gifts. Ranging from board games, to a coupon for a free homemade dinner, no one went home empty handed, but instead full of Christmas cheer.
