Context I am a designer concerned with print based solutions in the fields of branding and publishing design created primarily for the fashion and culture sectors, using a mix of both type and image. I also have a strong interest in copywriting and the importance of communicating successfully through both language and design. Brief or Tasks ‘Coming of Age’ A series of film screenings celebrating the classic teenage films such as The Breakfast Club, Dazed and Confused and Almost Famous. You are required to create the branding for the events, as well as design the posters and a range of printed products to promote and be collected at the event. Preparation/Research suggestions You should watch and research into all the films you intend to screen. Research into the audience that would be interested in this kind of event/ genre of film and research similar events. Research into similar events. The Art of the Modern Movie Poster: International Postwar Style and Design by Kehr Salavetz, Judith Salavetz and Spencer Drate Happening: Design for Events by Sarah Schultz Evidence – for this project students should submit The logo and identity for the event. A range of printed promotional products relevant to the brief. Development, research and outcomes should be documented on the appropriate blogs.
