Here Design Based in East London, I chose this design studio because I think this is somewhere I would be able to fit in relatively easily, and I am a massive fan of the work they produce, particularly in book design and branding and identity, which I think are two areas that are strengths and that I enjoy working with.

Construct London Another London based studio that I would love to visit or work for, because they produce really well crafted, detailed and thought out designs that are luxe and covetable. They work with clients like Mulberry, and call themselves a design boutique, and I think that seeing their process would really help to inform mine going into third year in terms of focussing on finish of a product as well as helping me to think more about high quality design.

Phaidon London The London offices of the publisher would probably be a difficult place to get into to visit, but I would really love to know the design process that they go through when they produce such beautiful books and editorial work. Their website does say that they offer jobs in editorial design but I would be really interested in how they create the book covers, and whether that is something that happens in house or is externally sourced.

Penguin London Another big publishers that I would love to be able to visit or even do work experience at because they are one of the big names in publishing and they produce a variety of well designed and commercially successful book covers. Again I would be interested in finding out the design process and where that fits in at their publishers.
Four Corners Books This is a very small publishers, so I am unsure what would be possible in terms of visiting or getting some kind of work experience here, but I love the books that they produce and publish and it would be really great to see the work that goes into creating these books.

Turner Duckworth This is a much larger and commerically minded design studio, but I really like the work that they do because it shows a real understanding of their audience, plus their internships are geared towards second years which puts me in a good position for applying for work experience, although I would be happy to simply visit and experience what it would be like in a large studio environment.

SB Studio This is a Liverpool based studio which creates some really crisp and contemporary work in a variety of disciplines, although I am most drawn to their branding, particularly for Cow&Co. I think it would be a really interesting place to visit because they look like a really involved and focussed collective who I could learn from and help to inform my third year practice.

Clare Skeats Originally I had wanted to send my CV into Pushkin Press but further research showed me that they actually use a couple of different book designers to help out with the books instead of having an in house team. Clare Skeats is one of the designers they use mainly, and her work is beautiful and varied, and I would love to see how she works and how she got to working with Pushkin.

Marc and Anna The range of their work is what appeals most as they show their ability to communicate with a number of varied audiences and they can work in different styles which I think is important, however they are only a partnership and so they may be too busy to have studio visits or placements.

David Pearson Another designer that works with Pushkin, it would again be interesting to see his design process and how he works with the publishers.
