A TRAVEL INSPIRED BATH & BEAUTY BRAND.
Amass is a travel inspired bath and beauty brand. The concept is based around the idea that our range of products, which includes bath cream, body oil and body butter, acts as a collection of souvenirs from our journeys to the most beautiful parts of the world.
The botanical ingredients have been gathered by us on our travels, and are designed to transport the consumer to that place. The 6 ranges would be sold in a small, high end retail space on Regents Street, London.

Research
We have explored the use of pattern and colour in our research, as Emma and myself feel that this a strong element of existing designs in this area, as well as being a useful way to inform the consumer of the product’s origin. We have also researched into different
finishes and design processes that would help to distinguish our brand, such as die cut packaging, use of fabric and stamping. Photography of our products is another key area we want to focus on to ensure we are positioned in the luxury market.

The Development

For the identity of the brand, we wanted to create a strong type led logo that subtly communicated travel and the luxury of the brand. We were inspired by compass imagery which is synonymous with travel, and the shapes/shading that feature in old drawings.
Emma created the patterns whilst I developed the labels. Originally the intention was to have a rectangular label that would be applied to the bottles, but we felt that this didn’t fully communicate the travel aspect of the brand. As we have used botanical ingredients, I

The Design
The packaging comprises of a label that features the destination’s pattern, whilst a luggage tag provides product information and communicates the travel aspect of the brand. The warming metallic colours complement the summery palette whilst also anchoring the
product as a luxury item. The slightly unusual shapes of some of the bottles aim to distinguish our brand from cheaper bath and beauty product lines, with details such as copper/gold bottle tops emphasising our focus on quality and luxury.
