Context I am a designer concerned with print based solutions in the fields of branding and publishing design created primarily for the fashion and culture sectors, using a mix of both type and image. I also have a strong interest in copywriting and the importance of communicating successfully through both language and design. Brief or Tasks The brief requires you to brand High Spirits, a specialist alcohol retailers. This could be as part of a larger department store as well as it’s own individual retail outlet. You will need to name and brand the identity for the store, creating a unique logo and considering every potential including glassware, packaging, and advertising. The tone of voice for the brief should be light hearted and humorous, and is intended for a discerning audience with excellent taste, and those who are willing to spend a little more money for better quality products and service. Preparation/Research suggestions Gather research on successful brands, look at the way they have applied their branding across a range of products.
