The Concept Entitled ‘Out with a Bang’, our concept communicates the fact that are our studies have reached their climatic ending, and demonstrates the sense of spectacle the show will deliver. This concept will be delivered through the use of playful but impactful imagery of a balloon being popped, creating a sense of immediacy and excitement about the show. The popped balloon can also be seen as a release: of tension after everyone’s hard work, of the work itself and of the students into the creative industries. Statements to be included: Main Statement: Out with a Bang. Secondary Statements: It Starts Here. This is how it Starts. These statements are designed to allude to the Big Bang Theory and the idea that despite the show being the resolution of our studies, it’s really just the start of our careers.
Above are the College’s brand guideline swatch colours that we intend to use throughout the project if this pitch is successful. For the purposes of illustration only, blue and grey have been used.

Applications Imagery of the balloon both before and after being popped would be placed across several of the products, including the A0 poster, publication adverts, online graphics and the flyer. With the private invite we propose printing details of the event onto the actual balloon, encouraging people to interact with the event even before they have attended. With the E-Invite, we would like to produce an animated gif of the balloon being popped in slow motion.*

Applications Signage and Wayfinding would relate to the concept through playful copy which would act as directions around the show, including the phrases ‘Pop In’, ‘Pop Up’ and ‘Pop Out’. These would be placed in appropriate areas alongside more detailed wayfinding information. We also propose to have a small balloon installation outside of each course’s exhibition, with the course title projected on to it. In addition to the required products, we believe that the concept could be applied to an additional promotional event in which all the students participate in a balloon race, attaching their business card to a balloon in order to spread the message further. This would be a visually striking and unusual way to promote the show to a broader audience.
