12TH ANNUAL YMCA YOUTH SPORTS ADVENTURE RUN – SATURDAY, JULY 6

The YMCA of Lincoln invite families to enjoy the Fourth of July weekend with the 12th Annual YMCA Youth Sports Adventure Run on Saturday, July 6.

Held at YMCA Wright Park, kids and adults alike will climb their way through obstacles, run through fields, and make a splash down the giant slip and slide, all in the name of a good cause – the YMCA Annual Fundraising Campaign. Funds raised provide youth and families in need the opportunity to take part in the YMCA’s life-changing programs, including Youth Sports.

We encourage the entire family to walk or run the course together. Not only is it a chance for families to take part in a morning of healthy activities, but in doing so, they’re giving back to our community, ensuring that every family has access to YMCA programs like swim lessons, baseball leagues, and day camps.

Wave start times will be at 9 a.m., 9:45 a.m., and 10:30 a.m. with a limit of 100 participants per time slot. Registration is available online at ymcalincoln.org and includes a t-shirt with the race fee.

Participants must be registered by June 21 to be guaranteed a t-shirt.

OPEN ALL SUMMER!

What an incredible few weeks at the Y! Our Outdoor Pools at the Cooper, Copple Family, and Fallbrook Ys are open, and Summer Day Camps are in full swing with Legos, bracelet making, sports, and dance. Meanwhile, at YMCA Camp Kitaki, campers are horseback riding, swimming, and enjoying campfires and hot dog cookouts. It’s going to be a great summer!

The YMCA’s 4th Annual Swimsuit Drive wrapped up with nearly 300 swimsuits collected and $1,000 in monetary donations! These swimsuits will soon be making waves for students in our grant-based swim lessons this summer! Thank you for helping create a more confident generation of swimmers at the Y!

Huge thanks to Commonwealth Electric for building bikes for students at Elliott Elementary. Thanks to their generosity, 18 kids now have bikes to start their summer break! This helps overcome transportation obstacles for many students in our CLC programs. We’re grateful for our partnership with the CLCs and the positive impact they’re having in our community!
