STRONGER, HEALTHIER, SAFER
THE YMCA OF LINCOLN, NEBRASKA
2020 ANNUAL REPORT
YMCA Family and Friends, 2020 was a challenging year as we navigated through the pandemic. Yet through the challenges, the Y was able to continue serving our community, expand our mission, and most importantly provide programs and services for families and children. An important focus of the Y’s mission has always been serving children in childcare and after school programs, life changing outdoor camp experiences, water safety through Y certified swim lessons, and character-building youth sports. Healthy living is also a focus of our mission as we bring families together and strive to improve our communities’ health and well-being in order to help make Lincoln an amazing place to live, work, and play.
BARBARA BETTIN YMCA President/CEO
In addition, the Y will always promote health equity as we address economic, racial, and ethnic disparities through a variety of programs such as our financial assistance, after school and Community Learning Centers, partnering with organizations to provide critical services, and providing chronic disease prevention programs. The Y will continue to reach out to those in need so no child goes hungry, no adult is without a place to stay healthy or recover from illness, and all families have a welcoming place to grow together. Even as the Y was severely impacted by the pandemic, we experienced over and over the generosity of volunteers, members, donors, and businesses. We are “stronger, healthier, and safer” because of YOU.
