PAST. PRESENT. FOREVER. 2021 ANNUAL REPORT THE YMCA OF LINCOLN, NEBRASKA

YMCA Family and Friends, As the Lincoln YMCA celebrated its 150th year in 2021, we were reminded of how grateful we are for the community’s support. Like many of life’s milestones there have been wonderful times celebrated, but also times of challenge and loss. The events of the past two years have tested our resolve in countless ways, but our will to serve has never stopped. Like many non-profits, we have been called upon to rapidly respond in unchartered, unbudgeted, and profoundly different ways to the new normal. Through it all, we have remained true to our mission offering programs aimed at serving families during heightened need, and playing an integral part for all those who walk through our doors.

BARBARA BETTIN YMCA President/CEO

Our Annual Report is a reflection of what we have accomplished together in 2021. In addition to serving nearly 50,000 youth through child care programs, we partnered with another longtime staple in the community, the People’s City Mission, to host a community-wide coat drive for Lincoln families in need this winter. We couldn’t imagine a more meaningful way to recognize this milestone than by giving back to the community that has given so much to us. Over the past 150 years, we have stayed true to our purpose of strengthening the community through programs focused on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility – making sure our neighbors are supported. Thanks to the passion and commitment of our members, volunteers, donors and staff, we are poised and well positioned for the next 150 years and beyond.
