The Fallbrook YMCA will be hosting its 7th Annual Youth Triathlon on Monday, September 4, in support of the YMCA Annual Fundraising Campaign-Strong Kids. The Youth Triathlon will start and end at the Fallbrook YMCA with the race route throughout the Fallbrook neighborhood. The race consists of a swim, bike, and run with designated distances based on age (open to kids ages 5 and up). All skill levels are encouraged to participate in this fun, untimed event. Registration is $25 per participant and will include a t-shirt for all those registered prior to August 14.

“This event is a great way to give kids a taste of the triathlon setting in a fun, non-competitive environment,” commented Kelly Fink, associate executive director for the Fallbrook YMCA. “It’s a great opportunity to promote fitness and activity while also giving back to a great cause.”

All proceeds from the event will go to the YMCA Annual Fundraising Campaign-Strong Kids, which provides youth programs and services for children who would not otherwise be able to participate due to financial limitations. For registration information and additional details on the Fallbrook YMCA Youth Triathlon, visit YMCALincoln.org/YouthTriathlon.

Cooper YMCA:

• August 7-11: The Indoor Pool will be closed to perform routine maintenance. During this closure, all Indoor Pool activities, unless specifically noted, will move to the Outdoor Pool at their regularly scheduled time. During this time the Outdoor Pool will close at 8:30pm. Please be aware that on August 7, 8, & 9 the outdoor pool will be inaccessible for Members from 10:00am to noon due to use by other Y programming. View the schedule for the week here.

Northeast YMCA:

Copple Family YMCA:

• August 14-21: Beginning August 14 at 8:00am, the Indoor Pool will be closed for maintenance. During this closure, all Indoor Pool activities, unless specifically noted, will move to the Outdoor Pool at their regularly scheduled time.

Food Tip:

Don’t over cook your vegetables! Steaming or lightly sautéing them helps retain their nutrients and natural flavors. Keep them crisp and nutritious!

The Northeast YMCA has changed my life in the last two years with Y-Lose It and the Group Exercise classes offered. I’ve lost 80 pounds with the program and connected with mentors and others who are traveling the same journey I am. I’ve experienced a great deal of support and encouragement from coaches, instructors, and the staff.”
