15TH ANNUAL YMCA OF LINCOLN TURKEY TROT COMING TO DOWNTOWN LINCOLN The YMCA of Lincoln Turkey Trot presented by Union Bank & Trust returns for its 15th year as one of the highly favored traditions on Thanksgiving morning. Held on November 23, this year’s family friendly event heads to the streets of downtown Lincoln in the Railyard, and features a 5K Race along with a 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk. Early registration is available online through November 19, however turkey trotters can register onsite as late as Thanksgiving morning.

Schedule: 8:00am | 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk ($19/person or $72/family) 8:30am | 5K Race ($34/person) 9:15am | Awards on-site in the Railyard Proceeds from the Turkey Trot support the YMCA’s Annual Fundraising Campaign-Strong Kids which offers financial assistance for YMCA memberships, programs, Youth Sports, and camp fees to families who otherwise would not be able to participate due to financial limitations. FOR YOUR WELLNESS Holiday Wellness Challenge November 13-December 31 Join us for this year’s Holiday Wellness Challenge! Complete 18 workouts and participate in weekly challenges to finish the year off strong. The Holiday Wellness Challenge is a great way to keep you motivated and stick with your workouts throughout the holidays. All participants receive an Ugly Christmas Sweatshirt with their registration. Learn more and register here.

FOR YOUR FAMILY YMCA Winter Dance & Gymnastics Clinic December 9 | 9:00-10:30am Join us for a creative and fun morning as we teach skills from our dance and gymnastics programs! YMCA OUT OF SCHOOL DAYS Out of School Days is a licensed child care program offered at the Cooper, Copple Family, Fallbrook, and Northeast YMCA locations on some Lincoln Public Schools non-school days for youth in Kindergarten through age 13. We will have a New Year’s Celebration to ring in the New Year with contests, dancing, and memories. Reunite with summer friends and staff. WINTER COAT DRIVE

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who donated to our 3rd Annual Winter Coat Drive to benefit the People’s City Mission! As a community we collected over 2,500 coats. Our staff had the opportunity to help distribute the coats to guests of the People’s City Mission this week.

The YMCA spent a morning at Holmes Lake for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk on October 15. So much love and support for those who have fought and continue to fight!

HALLOWEEN EVENTS

Our branches had so much Halloween fun! There were Trunk or Treats, Pumpkin Plunges, and lots of costumes and games. Thanks to everyone who joined the fun!

We teamed up with Lincoln Parks & Recreation on October 5 to plant 25 trees at Densmore Park, right next to our Cooper YMCA. A beautiful park before, even more beautiful now!


REMINDERS Remember the Y on Giving Tuesday November 28 This holiday season, experience the joy of uniting to make our community a better place for all. Support The YMCA of Lincoln and help each branch raise $5K in one day! Find joy in giving on this Giving Tuesday here.

YMCA of Lincoln Giving Tree Help make the holidays a little brighter for students at Elliott and Pershing Elementary Schools! Now through December 1, simply drop off an unwrapped gift at the Front Desk of any Lincoln YMCA location or the YMCA Administrative Office. Learn more about the YMCA of Lincoln Giving Tree here.

Veteran’s Day Week at the Lincoln YMCA Thanksgiving Day Hours The YMCA will have shortened hours on Thursday, November 23 so that staff may spend time with their families. All YMCA of Lincoln locations will be open 7:0011:00am. Child Watch will be closed at all locations.

Attention Fallbrook YMCA Members Beginning Monday, November 6, the Fallbrook YMCA Indoor Pool will temporarily close in order to replace the existing HVAC system. We anticipate this project taking up to six weeks, and encourage you to visit the pools at our other three Lincoln Y branches during this time. This project is part of our commitment to providing member with the safest and highest quality facilities.
