What is the YMCA Annual Fundraising Campaign – Strong Kids?
The YMCA Annual Fundraising Campaign – Strong Kids goes where membership fees don’t. It powers critical programs and activities that keep kids safe, people healthy, and families strong.
Why do we do it?
As a nonprofit, the Y’s core mission has always been about serving children and empowering them to grow stronger. We believe all children deserve the chance to discover who they are and what they can achieve, under the guidance of caring adults who believe in their potential.
Who does it help?
Children and families wanting to experience the Y! In 2021, the Y provided over $700,000 in financial assistance to nearly 900 families, ensuring every family has access to Preschool, Before & After School, Camps, Swim Lessons, Youth Sports, Health and Wellness offerings, and so much more.
How can I be a YMCA Game Changer?
Throughout the year, each YMCA branch hosts events to raise money for the Strong Kids Campaign. We invite you to join us for any of the remaining events listed below and help us give even more youth access to the YMCA.

Copple Family YMCA Indoor Campout
Thursday, November 10
Save the date! The Copple Family Y and YMCA Camp Kitaki are teaming up to bring you an indoor campout! You’ll be able to explore the magic of Camp Kitaki inside the walls of the Copple Family Y. There will be archery, crafts, campfire songs, games, and so much more!

Join the Fallbrook Y for their 10th Annual Trunk-Or-Treat!

YMCA Camp Kitaki Halloween Camps
October 14-15, 15-16, 21-22, 22-23
Halloween campers get ready for spooky fun! Bring a costume for our costume dance, listen to stories from a professional storyteller, carve a pumpkin, hunt ghouls, and so much more! This campout is a great introduction to camp programs and a wonderful way to enjoy Halloween themed activities in a positive atmosphere. There will even be some spooky activities for those who are brave enough!

YMCA Camp Kitaki Halloween Hike
Saturday, October 29
Join us at Camp Kitaki for a fun outdoor experience for the whole family! Camp Kitaki will have games and activities set up around camp on a hike that takes you around the camp property. Activities include trick or treating, carnival style games, yard games, playing in our natural play area, and more!

YMCA OF LINCOLN WINTER COAT DRIVE
Winter weather in Nebraska can bring hardships to the homeless, and the YMCA is stepping up to bring some warmth and relief from the cold to those who need it most. During the month of October, all four Lincoln YMCA locations will be participating in a coat drive to benefit the People’s City Mission. Last year’s inaugural coat drive generated over 2,300 coats thanks to the generosity of YMCA members and the Lincoln community.
Community members that donate a new or gently used coat will receive a free pass to “Try the Y” for a week, valid through the end of the year. Current YMCA members donating coats will also have the chance to win a FREE Y membership for 2023.
The drive will take place October 1-21, with a kick-off coat distribution at PCM’s Help Center starting at 9:00am on Friday, November 4.
