I have been a fan and patron of the Lobero Theatre for decades and my experience has been a truly generational one filled with beautiful memories involving my family. I now find myself creating new, unforgettable moments in my role as Assistant Director of Development of the Lobero Theatre Foundation. In my twenties, I came out to an American Big Band-era show shortly after my Dad’s passing as a way to hold on to my memories of him listening to Glenn Miller albums throughout my childhood. It was a cathartic experience to say the least. Fast-forward a decade later and I found myself attending a Pixar movie with my then 5-year-old son as part of the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. Seeing the beauty and grandeur of this stately theater through his eyes was such a thrill. And now, happily, rather joyfully, I am in a new position as Assistant Director of Development with an entirely new perspective on the inner-workings of this truly remarkable historical treasure. you’d hear nearly 150 years-worth of worldclass performances and applause.) My role here at the Lobero is unique in that I get to interact and engage with some wonderful members of our community – from our local businesses who make up our list of Corporate Sponsors, to folks like you who support the Lobero in a myriad of ways, like coming out to our shows and VIP events. It has been a pleasure getting to meet so many of you! The 21/22 Season is off to a great start with audiences hungry for the return of live performances. Speaking for all of us here at the Lobero, I want to thank you for placing a value on the performing arts just by coming out to our shows. Here’s to the next 150 years of memorable entertainment!

For over 148 years, through the leanest times and grandest evenings, the Ghostlight has cast a warm glow over our intimate stage. It’s a beacon for the muses of drama, dance, and music – a spark of brilliance to keep creative spirits company from curtain-down to curtain-up. The strong and steady support of the Lobero Ghostlight Society illuminates our behind-the-scenes efforts and – like the steadfast bulb at center stage – keeps our vibrant theatre from ever going dark.
