A Decade of Dance Innovation F E AT U R I N G
doug elkins choreography, etc. Sept 7 & 8 at the Lobero Theatre As part of our 10 year celebration we welcome celebrated choreographer Doug Elkins back to the Lobero to create a new work based on influences from Japanese philosophy and art entitled Kintsugi. DANCEworks is an inventive collaboration between SUMMERDANCE Santa Barbara and the Lobero Theatre Foundation in which contemporary choreographers are awarded an almost-unheard of month-long residency to create, rehearse and premiere a new work on the Lobero stage. This partnership puts Santa Barbara on the map as a community that supports the creation of new choreography in a significant way.
