Recreational activities also help manage stress by providing a chance to nurture oneself, create a sense of balance and self-esteem. There are social benefits too such as meeting new people and developing friendships, developing cooperation and teamwork. LODI LAKE MEET YOUR WATERSHED The City of Lodi’s Public Works Department oversees the City services maintained in the public right of way. Public Works provides Lodi with clean water, treats its wastewater, maintains safe streets and working traffic signals, oversees care of the City’s urban forest, as well as maintains a storm water system which helps prevent our streets from flooding, either from rainstorms or over irrigated landscapes. But, Lodi residents also play an important role in the safety of its community, as stewards of the watershed. Because of the direct connection from streets to local waterways, and the potential pollution coming from our neighborhoods’ minimally treated storm water, Lodi provides educational outreach, enabling the public to learn more about watershed issues

and concerns. So, come, learn more, and “Meet your watershed!” Learn more! “Meet Your Watershed” videos highlighting the Mokelumne River Watershed: Lodi.gov/watershed
watershed /noun/ 1. The entire region draining into a river, river system, or other body of water. 2. A ridge of high land dividing two areas that are drained by different river systems. 3. A critical point that marks a division or a change of course; a turning point. The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, 5th Edition.
