Rotary Club adapts to continue raising funds for charity THE Rotary Club of Wortley had to cancel their main annual charity fund raising event in July, the Vintage Vehicle Rally at Wortley Hall. Charity funds raised each year are allocated to a major benefactor, plus many small charities in our area. This year, the ongoing major benefactor was to be the Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity. An idea to raise charity funds for the Children’s Hospital by way of a virtual raffle was put forward and later organised by Trevor

Fletcher, president elect of the Rotary Club of Wortley. Club members, along with friends and relatives, contributed 10 quality prizes for the event. The aim was to try and raise £1,000. With the determination of Trevor to succeed, in maximising the efforts of all members of the Wortley Rotary Club, the raffle raised £2,500. A cheque for the total amount of £2,500 was accepted by Lucy Rathbone, regional fund raiser on behalf of the charity.

The Sheffield Children Hospital Charity has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Persimmon Homes Trust to receive a donation of up to £100,000 if they receive enough votes, through a public vote. People can vote once per day at www.persimmonhomes/building-futures/finalists. As it stands, The Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity will receive £5,000 just for being a finalist. The vote closes on September 18. All the money will go to the cancer Ward Six development.

I’m coming up to my first year anniversary with Temple Spa and it’s been amazing!

What started as a little ‘side hustle’ has grown in to an exceptional business for me and my second “employment” although I’m my own boss. Never have I been more grateful for it than in these last few months when real stores and beauty rooms have closed down and I’ve watched friends lose their jobs. Temple Spa isn’t a ‘pyramid

scheme’ - if it was there’s no way I’d still be doing this nor would my business still be growing after all these years! It is a family-run business with 20 years as Temple Spa not to mention expertise put into Virgin Vie and Body shop. Born from a vision/dream for Mark and Liz, there was no looking back even today. If you would like to know more then I would love to talk to you - if it’s not for you

then thats okay, but I would ask please share with friends or family that are finding things a little difficult at the moment. No pressure to join, just a chat about how I love what I do and just want to share. IMPORTANTLY - A BIG thank you to all my friends, customers and supporters who keep me going every single day you’re ALL amazing!
