QUICK HITS BRANDT CASHES IN ON SENIOR DAY ... Freshman Hannah Nelson found lone senior
Cat Brandt on a cut across the middle for her first career goal in the Duhawks 12-10 loss to the University of Dallas.
SHEAHAN SHINING IN NET … In her first year, freshman Claire Sheahan has been a consistent force for in goal for the Duhawks. The Chicago, Ill. native ranks top in the conference in saves (100) and third in save percentage (49.0%). CAUSED TURNOVERS, IT’S WHAT THEY DU … As a team, the Duhawks have caused
more turnovers (100) than any other Midwest Women’s Lacrosse Conference member. Senior Cat Brandt leads the way, sitting just behind the conference leader with 20. Also cracking the top ten is junior Gina Dacy in sixth with 15, while freshmen Hailey Fredrick and Hannah Nelson are tied for ninth with 14 each.
DUHAWKS SET TO FLY WEST … Following a conference bout with the Aurora Spartans, the Duhawks will travel to Portland, Ore. to take on Southwestern University and a trio of Northwest Conference lacrosse teams; George Fox, Linfield, and Puget Sound.

COACH’S CORNER Goetz enters her second season with the Duhawks as head coach. She lead the Duhawks in their inaugural season after being named the first head coach in program history on January 5, 2011. Goetz played at NCAA Division III University of Redlands in Redlands, California. She graduated with a degree in Psychology after a four year career that included playing two positions and two seasons as a cocaptain. Following her time in Redlands, Goetz helped start the program at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin as an assistant coach. While with the Lady Reds, she earned a master’s degree in Education (Counseling). “I am extremely appreciative and proud to join the Duhawk family and am very excited to get started,” Goetz said after being named to the position. “I’m looking forward to establishing a competitive lacrosse program at Loras College and believe we have all the right components to achieve success.”
