2014 LORAS COLLEGE WOMEN’S LACROSSE GAME NOTES

@LORASATHLETICS • @LCWOMENSLAX

QUICK HITS DUHAWKS GO WINLESS ON WEST COAST ... A four-game swing that included three games in Washington and one in Oregon, left the Duhawks winless and moved their losing streak to nine.

KUTSCH HELD SCORELESS FOR FIRST TIME SINCE 2013 … Leading scorer, Kaitlyn Kutsch was held scoreless against Puget Sound in the Duhawks last outing. It marked the first time the sophomore failed to score since the season finale a year ago.

CAUSED TURNOVERS, IT’S WHAT THEY DU … As a team, the Duhawks have caused more turnovers (100) than any other Midwest Women’s Lacrosse Conference member. Senior Cat Brandt leads the way, sitting just behind the conference leader with 20. Also cracking the top ten is junior Gina Dacy in sixth with 15, while freshmen Hailey Fredrick and Hannah Nelson are tied for ninth with 14 each.

FINISHING UP STRONG … Closing out the 2014 season with a three-game road trip, the Duhawks are striving to cap the season on a high note and build towards next year. With just one senior on the squad, Loras is set to return nearly the entire roster.

COACH’S CORNER Goetz enters her second season with the Duhawks as head coach. She lead the Duhawks in their inaugural season after being named the first head coach in program history on January 5, 2011. Goetz played at NCAA Division III University of Redlands in Redlands, California. She graduated with a degree in Psychology after a four year career that included playing two positions and two seasons as a cocaptain. Following her time in Redlands, Goetz helped start the program at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin as an assistant coach. While with the Lady Reds, she earned a master’s degree in Education (Counseling). “I am extremely appreciative and proud to join the Duhawk family and am very excited to get started,” Goetz said after being named to the position. “I’m looking forward to establishing a competitive lacrosse program at Loras College and believe we have all the right components to achieve success.”
