New to the net for the Storm is junior goalkeeper, Zach McEntee. The West Des Moines, Iowa native took the place of Luke Aronow who graduated in W, 3-2 2014. So far in 2014, McEntee has 51 saves, 3 shutouts and a 1.19 Goals W, 1-0 Against Average.

On Saturday, October 11, the Duhawks will take the to road to play Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa. The Storm is 9-5 overall on the season and 1-2 in Iowa Conference play with losses coming from Wartburg and Luther. Simpson returned all five of their leading scorers from 2013 including senior, Mitchell White, the Storm’s current leading scorer. The Decorah, Iowa native scored 14 goals and added four assists for 32 points in 2013 as well as earning All-IIAC (1st), and Team Academic All-District (1st). In 2014, he has scored six goals and added two assists for a total of 14 points. Also returning in 2014 is Marcus Varnum. The junior native of Ankeny, Iowa scored three goals and added four assists for 10 points in 2013 as well as earning All-IIAC (1st) honors. This season, Varnum has scored four goals and added four assists for a total of 12 points.

When the two teams met in 2013, the Duhawks handed the Storm 3-1 and 1-0 setbacks. The last time Simpson beat Loras was in 2002 in the 4:30 PM Rock Bowl with a 2-1 double overtime victory.
PREVIEWING THE LEATHERNECKS...
The Duhawks will take on their second Division I opponent this season when they travel to Western Illinois on Monday, October 13. The Leathernecks 5:00 PM are 6-4-1 on the season and 1-0 in Summit League contests. Charlie Bales leads the Leathernecks with five goals and one assist for a total of 11 points. The redshirted senior took 2013 off due to an injury but received 7:30 PM second team All-Region honors, All-Summit League honors (1st), Summit 7:00 PM League All-Tournament Team honors, and Academic All-Summit League Team honors in 2012 recording one goal and four assists on the season. The Leathernecks faced Creighton in early September suffering a 1-0 loss. Creighton is currenly ranked at No. 9 in the country and were ranked at No. 8 at the time of the game. Western tallied more shots than the Bluejays in the first half but were unable to score resulting in the opportunity for Creighton to score the game winner in the 70’.
