True friendship is one of the most amazing gifts to give or receive. Friendship is what you make of it. I have friends with whom I share common interests, and all we do are those activities, and I have friends whom I consider to be my soulmates and my family.
So, why is friendship so important? In a nutshell, we are not meant to walk this earth alone. As women, we know that we are not perfect, although, seemingly, we always try to be. We need our friends to boost us up and remind us that we are wonderful and can conquer the world. Also, we must do the same for our friends. Another fun fact is that we are all different. Sometimes, friends offer a different perspective on a problem you are facing and help you find a solution. Sometimes, they will even do something for you that you hate, like shopping, because they love it! Yes, I know that I am crazy for disliking shopping.
Much like when looking for qualities in a partner, close friends should balance you out. They can be the yin to your yang.
They can also provide you with a safe space to share your emotions, and comfort you in a way that your partner may not. Or, they might come over with wine and have a dance party with you, because it cheers you up.
For me, my inner circle is my family. I am closer to some of my friends than my own family. I also have a ton of friends that are super nice, fun to be around, and all we do is play. Friendships come in different shapes and sizes, but they are so important to our well-being and overall happiness!
