EDITOR TALK สวัสดีครับ Greetings,

LOVE WEDDING MAGAZINE เล่มนี้ เป็นนิตยสารฉบับปฐมฤกษ์ ที่เกิดจากความรัก และมิตรภาพของพี่น้องและผองเพื่อนที่คบหาสนิทสนมกันมายาวนาน มากบ้างน้อยบ้าง ซึ่งที่ผ่านมาแต่ละคนต่างดำ�เนินชีวิต บทบาท และหน้าที่เป็นของตัวเอง แล้ววันหนึ่ง พวกเราก็ได้มารวมตัวกันเพือ่ ทำ�งานตรงนี้ ทุกคนต่างนำ�ความรู้ และประสบการณ์ ที่ได้สง่ั สมมา รวมทั้งพลังใจ พลังกาย ร่วมกันกลั่นออกมาเป็น ‘พลังความแห่งคิด สร้างสรรค์’ จนเกิดเป็น LOVE WEDDING MAGAZINE เล่มนี้ขึ้นมา ภายใต้สโลแกน “Art . Bride . High Fashion . Fun . Honeymoon . Wedding Directory” เราจึงเน้นการถ่ายทำ�แฟชั่นทุกเซตให้ออกมางดงามดั่งงานศิลปะ ที่ควร ค่าแก่การ ‘เสพ’ และ ‘สะสม’ เราเพิ่มเติมอารมณ์ความรักในแบบสนุกสนาน ผ่านเรื่อง ราวสถานที่เที่ยวรอบโลก เพื่อให้คุณผู้อ่านเกิดแรงบันดาลใจอยากไปฮันนีมูน เติมความ หวานกับคนที่คุณรัก ซ้ำ�แล้วซ้ำ�เล่า... อีกทั้งเราตั้งใจที่จะเป็นสื่อกลางรวบรวมข้อมูลของ ธุรกิจที่เกี่ยวข้องกับงานแต่งงานในทุกๆ ด้าน เพื่อให้ทุกคู่รักที่กำ�ลังเตรียมตัวแต่งงาน สามารถสร้างสรรค์งานในวันสำ�คัญนี้ได้อย่าง ‘สมบูรณ์’ และ ‘สมใจ’ มากที่สุด ท้ายนี้ ผมขอขอบคุณทีมงานทุกท่านจากใจจริงที่มีส่วนช่วยให้ LOVE WEDDING MAGAZINE ฉบับปฐมฤกษ์นี้สำ�เร็จได้อย่างงดงาม และเราขอสัญญากับผู้อ่านทุกท่านว่า “เราจะทุ่มเทและพัฒนา LOVE WEDDING MAGAZINE ให้เป็นนิตยสารที่ดี มีคุณภาพ ที่สุดเล่มหนึ่งในวงการนิตยสารแต่งงานของเมืองไทยให้จงได้” This inaugural issue of LOVE WEDDING MAGAZINE is born out of the love and friendship between long-time friends and close pals, who have all lived their lives in their respective different and unique way. One day, we decided to band together to work on this project, eagerly bringing our expertise and experiences to the table and uniting as one creative force from which this LOVE WEDDING MAGAZINE emerged. Echoing the theme of “Art . Bride . High Fashion . Fun . Honeymoon . Wedding Directory”, we made sure that we have elevated all our fashion shoots to the state of high art that is a worthy addition to your collection. We also present “Love” in a light-hearted and fun manner with stories about tourist destinations across the world in order to inspire our readers to plan a honeymoon, which is an all-consuming period of time when you are totally fixated by your partner. Furthermore, we would also like to be the medium through which every couple planning a wedding can conveniently and pleasantly explore resources related to all aspects of wedding planning. I would like thank our team of staff from the bottom of my heart for their contributions to making this in augural issue become a beautiful reality, and we promise our readers, “We will dedicate our best efforts to making LOVE WEDDING MAGAZINE one of Thailand best magazines ever.”

ตอนเรียนวิศวะ นกบอกว่า ระหว่างเรียนชอบแอบวาดรูป เล่นในตำ�ราแทบทุกเล่ม ชอบคิดนอกกรอบ และชอบ ความท้าทายแปลกใหม่ หลังจากเบนเข็มทิศสู่เส้นทาง ธุรกิจแฟชั่นตามพี่สาวแล้ว ก็นำ�ประสบการณ์การทำ�งาน ในฝรั่งเศสผสมหลักสูตร เพิ่มเติมด้านแฟชั่นจาก London College of Fashion กลับมาสร้างสรรค์งาน Styling ที่โดดเด่นจนเป็นที่จับตา นกเลือกทำ�งานที่ ให้อิสระทาง ความคิด และให้ความสำ�คัญ กับการวางแผนงานอย่าง ละเอียด จึงไม่น่าแปลกใจ

หากภาพแฟชั่นทุกเซทที่นก Create จะมี Style โดดเด่น แตกต่างจากคนอื่นอย่างเห็น ได้ชัดเจน จนกูรูแฟชั่นในเมือง ไทยท่านหนึ่งกล่าวชมว่า “มุมมองของนกน่าสนใจมาก นำ�เสนอความสวยงามของ แฟชั่นและศิลปะได้พอดี ไม่ดิบเกินไปจนดูไม่ออก และไม่ตลาดจ๋าจนน่าเบื่อ ภูมิ ใจที่คนไทยก็สร้างสรรค์ งานได้ ในระดับสากล อยากเห็นงานแฟชั่นลักษณะนี้ มานานแล้ว”

ปูเป็นเด็กหนุ่มรุ่นใหม่ ที่ ถ่ายทอดรูปแบบงานศิลปะ ได้อย่างลึกซึ้งละเมียดละไม ลวดลายเส้นสีของปู มีเอกลักษณ์เฉพาะตัวที่ โดดเด่น นำ�เสนออารมณ์ ตื่นเต้น สงบสุข มั่นใจ มีอิสระ อย่างน่าทึ่ง จึงไม่น่า แปลกใจว่างานศิลป์ที่ผ่าน มาของปู จะผ่านสายตา และ เป็นที่ยอมรับในระดับประเทศ และนานาชาติมาแล้ว ปูบอกว่างานภาพเขียนผสม ภาพถ่ายแฟชั่นเป็นความ ท้าทายใหม่ที่น่าสนใจ และกล่าวว่า “ยินดีมากที่ ทีมงานให้อสิ ระในการคิด การทำ�งาน แม้จะเป็น หนังสือแฟชั่น แต่ LOVE

uring the time when Nok was still an engineering student, his notebooks were always filled with doodles. He likes to be different by challenging himself to think outside the box. After choosing to pursue his career in fashion business (following his sister’s path), he created many eye-catching pieces to make his style statements. He integrated his working experiences in France and his knowledge from London College of Fashion into his work. In addition, he

His style is unique and this makes his work very interesting because each one of them is meaningful and could express emotions, excitements and peace in different ways. His works were exhibited, both domestically and internationally. He was invited to be part of this Love Wedding Magazine to create paintings for fashion shoots. He found this work

Along with that, he also taught in Thai universities and international schools. He chose his own path and worked as hard as he could with the goal of distinguishing himself from the others. It is not too edgy, but at the same time not too commercial. There should have been the state of the art like this a long time ago”

Inside Interview จากความหลงใหลในเรือ่ งแฟชัน่ คือจุดเริม่ ต้น ของการทำ�งานที่สร้างชื่อเสียงโด่งดัง จนเรียก ได้ว่าเป็นดีไซเนอร์แถวหน้าของเมืองไทย ทีใ่ ครๆ ก็ตอ้ งคุน้ หน้าตา คุณไข่ สมชาย แก้วทอง ดีไซเนอร์เจ้าของห้องเสือ้ ไข่ บูตคิ ผูเ้ ชีย่ วชาญ ด้านการออกแบบชุดเจ้าสาวทีม่ ชี อ่ื เสียงยาวนาน กว่า 44 ปี การเดินทางบนถนนเส้นนีไ้ ม่ใช่อาศัย แค่พรสวรรค์ทต่ี ดิ ตัวมาตัง้ แต่เกิดเท่านัน้ แต่เขา ยังต้องอาศัยความขยัน อดทน สูก้ บั ปัญหาใน การทำ�งาน จนออกมาเป็นประสบการณ์ของเขา คนนี้ ทีเ่ ราได้น�ำ มาเล่าสูก่ นั ฟัง “เริม่ แรกผมค่อนข้างตืน่ เต้นกับการทำ�งาน แต่พอเริม่ หันมาเอาจริงเอาจัง ถึงได้รวู้ า่ มันยาก ต้องต่อสูด้ น้ิ รน กว่าจะได้ผลงานมา อีกทัง้ ต้อง มีทมี งานทีด่ ี และการมาทำ�งานทางด้านนีก้ ม็ ี ปัญหามาให้แก้อยูต่ ลอดเวลา ในการทำ�งาน แต่ละเดือนต้องมีการวางแผนงานล่วงหน้าเป็นปีๆ แม้ปจั จุบนั นีก้ ย็ งั มีปญ ั หาเข้ามาให้แก้เรือ่ ยๆ แต่กป็ ลอบใจตัวเองว่าธุรกิจเสือ้ ผ้าร้านอืน่ ๆ คงมีปญ ั หาเข้ามาเหมือนกัน เราต้องสูต้ อ่ ไป” สำ�หรับสไตล์การออกแบบชุดเจ้าสาวอัน โดดเด่น ทีท่ �ำ ให้คณ ุ ไข่กลายเป็นดีไซเนอร์ ในดวงใจของหญิงสาวแทบทุกคนคือ ความนิง่ เรียบ สง่างาม จากการประดิดประดอย และ ความละเมียดละไมในการตัดเย็บ รวมถึง รายละเอียดของเนือ้ ผ้า ซึง่ จะทำ�ให้เจ้าสาวอยูใ่ น ชุดทีส่ วยสง่า ไม่วา่ จะมองจากมุมไหนก็ตาม “ความนิง่ เรียบ สง่างาม ถือเป็นเอกลักษณ์ ของห้องเสือ้ เรา ส่วนใหญ่เราเรียนรูจ้ ากการ แต่งตัวของคนชัน้ สูงในอังกฤษ ว่าเขาแต่งยังไง ถึงดูแพง ถือเป็นงานท้าทายทีเ่ ราจะทำ�อย่างไร ให้ลกู ค้าพอใจ เขาใส่แล้วดูเป็นผูด้ ี สง่างามแบบ สุภาพสตรีทม่ี ชี อ่ื เสียงอย่าง Grace Patricia Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, Katharine Houghton Hepburn” ด้วยประสบการณ์ในฐานะของดีไซเนอร์ มากว่า 44 ปี คงพิสจู น์ให้ทกุ คนเห็นกันอย่าง ชัดเจนถึงความสามารถของเขา แต่ในอีก 5 ปี ข้างหน้า แบรนด์ไข่ บูตคิ อาจจะเป็นเพียงแค่ชอ่ื ทีอ่ ยูใ่ นความประทับใจของใครหลายคนเท่านัน้ เพราะคุณไข่อาจจะหยุดพักงานตรงนี้ หลังจาก เหน็ดเหนือ่ ยจากการทำ�งานมานาน “ถึงตอนนัน้ ผมก็อายุ 70 ปี โรคภัยคงเริม่ ถามหา ต้องมีเวลาดูแลตัวเอง อาจจะหาทีไ่ หน สักแห่งในเมืองไทยทีไ่ ม่ไกลจากกรุงเทพฯ มากนัก เอาไว้เป็นทีพ ่ กั ผ่อนให้ตวั เอง สำ�หรับ คนทีจ่ ะสืบทอดต่อไปคงไม่มี เพราะลูกหลาน ใกล้ตวั เห็นการทำ�งานของเราแล้ว คงไม่มีใคร ยอมสูต้ ายเหมือนเรา การทำ�งานด้านแฟชัน่ ต้องเป็นคนขยันมาก ทุกวินาทีเป็นเรือ่ งของ การคิดแบบเสือ้ ตลอดเวลา” ด้วยการทำ�งานทีค่ ลุกคลีกบั ความรักของคน หลายรูปแบบ เมือ่ ถามถึงนิยามความรักของคุณไข่ เขากล่าวว่า “ผมรูว้ า่ ความรักทำ�ให้คนมีความสุข แต่นยิ ามความรักสำ�หรับผมไม่มี ด้วยความที่ ความรักในโลกนีม้ นั ไม่สมบูรณ์เท่ากับการทีเ่ รารัก ตัวเอง อยากทำ�อะไร เราก็ท�ำ อย่างมีความสุข โดย ไม่ตอ้ งแคร์ใคร ตอนนีผ้ มมีเพือ่ น เลีย้ งสุนขั มีครอบครัวทีน่ า่ รัก แค่นก้ี ม็ คี วามสุขแล้ว”

KAI BOUTIQUE “Love is not Perfect! ผมรู้ว่าความรักทำ�ให้ มีความสุข แต่นิยามความรักสำ�หรับผมไม่มี” His deep passion for fashion is what propelled Somchai Kaewthong to the forefront of Thailand’s fashion industry. Known to many simply as “Kai”, Somchai owns the renowned “Kai Boutique”. He ventured out to a chorus of praise for his modern interpretation of luxury bridal gowns. For 44 years, his name has been synonymous with bridal elegance. His continued success in this business is a result of not only his natural talent, but also his tremendous dedication, hard work ethic and unwavering determination to tackle any problems. Let him tell us in his own words about what he has experienced. “In the beginning, I was very excited and eager to work. However, when things started to get serious, I began to learn that this job required a tremendous

amount hard work. There was a lot of struggling, and I had to fight hard and persevere in order complete a creation. It is also important to have a good team supporting you. In this line of work, there will always be new challenges that you need to face. A month of work sometimes required over a year of planning in advance. These days, although I still have to continue to face new challenges every day, I always remind myself that I’m not alone in this. Other stores must be facing similar challenges as well. We all must continue to persevere.” What distinguishes Kai’s wedding dresses from others and makes him so desirable to almost every woman is that his creations evoke the spirit of graceful elegance and timeless style. In the tradition of couture, he uses rich

fabrics, intricate details and incredible craftsmanship. The attention to detail is reflected in his bridal wear, making the bride look exquisite from every angle. “What makes our boutique unique is that we offer dresses that are true representations of quiet grace and elegance. We mostly draw inspirations from the British aristocratic culture. Those people always look upscale and classy. Our main challenge is to create something that will satisfy the customers, making them feel and look elegant and classy, not unlike famous feminine women like Grace Patricia Kelly, Audrey Hepburn and Katharine Houghton Hepburn.” With over 44 years of experience, Somchai’s extraordinary talent and skills have already been proven beyond any doubt. However, five years from now, “Kai Boutique” might become merely a name that evokes fond memories for some people as Mr. Somchai himself is considering retiring after so many years of extreme hard work. “By that time, I will be 70 years old. I would probably be dealing with some age-related diseases. I would need time off to care for my health. I might find a place not too far from Bangkok for me to relax. My legacy probably won’t be carried forward because my offsprings have seen how hard I have worked all these years. It is unlikely that any of them would be as dedicated as I have been. In order to be successful in the fashion industry, one must be very diligent and hardworking. Designing garments will take up every second of your time.” Despite having worked with lots of people with different backgrounds and love stories, Mr. Kai is hesitant to provide his definition of love. He has this to say on this subject: “I know that love brings joy and happiness, but for me, love is indefinable. All the love in the world cannot complete a person like loving yourself. We should be able to do whatever what we want, whatever makes us happy, without having to care about what others might think. Now, I have my friends, my dogs and my lovely family, and they have made me plenty happy.”

Her vintage-inspired designs are utterly unique, and many brides-to-be dream of getting married in one of her gorgeous creations. Speaking of her view on marriage, Napada states that “trust” is the most important element in a relationship. “The trust that a couple have in each other will empower them to become a united force. When a man and a woman decide to spend their life together, they must trust each other and have faith that they will be together for the rest of their lives. We like different things. But our fights are always grounded in rationality. We respect each other’s opinions and we must try to see from the other’s point of view. We must be willing to compromise and willing to take a step back in order to stay together. I think in every relationship –whether it’s a work, spousal or friend relationship-one party must be willing to compromise and remain positive in order to maintain a good relationship.” 45

In his case, the apple definitely doesn’t fall far from the tree. Shortly after he finished cultivating his experience and skills at a textile company, Wach boutique was born. His boutique is known for offering bridal gowns that are very feminine, modern, chic, elegant and sexy. His impeccable techniques and meticulous arrangements of fabrics and laces are guaranteed to perfectly complement the figure of the brides. When asked to draw a comparison between Wach’s bridal gowns and love, Wachayan replies, “Love is very essential for this world. The love that Wach boutique offers is the giving kind --always listening and always understanding. We do our best to understand the customer’s demand. As an artist, money does not matter that much to me. When a customer comes to us to commission our dressmaking service, I will dedicate all my efforts to satisfying my customer’s demand and realizing my vision, regardless of the budget.”

Supattra learned to sew from a very young age and now she is the owner of Unibride boutique. She sees herself as an “atelier”, which means ‘artist workshop’ in French. A lot of designers that has worked Supattra has worked with often remark, “Sue, you’re more than a designer!” Currently, she is running her renowned bridal studio, inheriting the legacy and fine skills from her mother. Supattra’s bridal gown designs are exclusively unique, touting the concept of “The Bride Unique”. Her boutique is one of the very few bridal stores in Thailand that offer a wide variety of designs, enabling the brides-to-be to discover their perfect wedding gowns that best suit them. As someone whose work is to make a couple’s wishes come true, Unibride’s defines love as something that is always “giving”. “For me, to love is to give and to want to see your loved one happy. That’s the meaning of love. Love is not just between a young couple. I would compare Unibride to a love that is sweet with just a hint of sourness. It’s a flavor that many people like and it’s never boring.” 46

In addition to having a thriving career in the entertainment business, she has always been very passionate about fashion design since a very young age. I find it very difficult to define love because you can’t really measure the love you have for someone, which makes it difficult for many to figure out whether what they’re feeling is actually love. Personally, I think there is a way to figure out whether or not you are in love with the person you’re with. When you and your partner fight and afterwards you realize that you have hurt your partner’s feelings, and then you start to feel bad and don’t want your partner to feel that way anymore, so you let go of your ego and be the first apologize. Personally, this could be the way to find out for certain whether you really care for your partner’s feelings. I think that’s what love is -- the willingness to forgive and sacrifice unconditionally.”

Having a deep passion for bridal fashion, she has been in this business for over 20 years. What distinguishes Aunchalee Boutique from other bridal salons is that her bridal creations are inspired by local embroidery styles and textiles such Thai textiles, handmade textile work from hill tribes and Thai floral patterns. Aunchalee shares with us her view on love as follows: “Someone once told me the word “marriage” in Thai (Somrot) comes from the phrase “a coordination of tastes” (Rot Ni Yom Sa Mue Kan), which I think is true. Because in a relationship, a couple need to adjust themselves until they fit together. And that’s what love is.”

Prunlope Pruksopee, designer at Couturier, is no exception. He is drawn to this path like bees drawn to honey. A combination of 20 years of experience as a fabric expert and his fondness for western fabrics with great focus on details has made him very attentive to every little detail of his work. The uniqueness of his creation lies in the details, with refined craftsmanship and stunning design that is truly original. Mr. Prunlope defines as love as being faithful and knowing how to love. “When you decide that you love someone, you must always remain faithful and consistent. In a relationship, a couple must be each other’s best friend, always offering him or her support and encouragement. In order to be in love, we have to understand what love is and know how to love. If you lose your temper and senses when making an important decision regarding love or work, the consequence of your decision could come back to haunt you or create new problems.”

During the Roman Empire, people believed that the ring finger is nourishing the blood of love. Even though the technology back then wasn’t as advanced as now, traditional belief was that there was a vein directly connected from the heart to the fourth finger of the left hand, and therefore it was a symbol of love. This is why this vessel is named “vena amori”, which in Latin means “vein of love”. After the evolution of cultures, this theory of a blood vein connecting to one’s heart has been cited in western cultures as one of the reansons the wedding ring was placed on the fourth finger, or “ring finger”. Because of this, placing a ring round the fourth finger of the left hand represents the love between a man and woman in all the days of their lives until death do them part. In medieval Europe, in christian wedding ceremonies the rings were placed in sequence on the index, middle, and ring fingers of the left hand, symbolizing the trinity (the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit). The ring was later then left on the ring finger only after time had passed. Today, most western countries wear wedding rings on the ring finger of the left hand, but in some orthodox Christian countries, German, or Chili the wedding ring is worn on the ring finger of the right hand. A wedding ring is not a traditional part of the religious Muslim wedding, and therefore is not included in most Islamic countries. In Thailand, our traditional wedding ceremony doesn’t include putting a wedding ring on each other, but after watern influences, we took over the culture of wearing a wedding ring into our traditional ceremony. This is why the current Thai wedding ceremony is as it is now. Wearing a ring is the best symbol representing marriage and an expression of love between a man and a woman. A ring is a connector bonding the heart of the two together through the vein in the fourth finger of the left hand, straight to the heart. So, next time when you see people putting a ring onto someone, keep in mind that they are connecting the two hearts together both physically and mentally.

KAIKOURA ความรู้สึกแรกที่ผมมีให้เกาะนี้คือหลงรัก เป็นรักที่ยาวนาน นับตั้งแต่วันแรกที่มาเยือนเมื่อกว่า 30 ปีก่อน จนถึงวันนี้ วันที่ผมมีสตรีรายหนึ่งอยู่ข้างกาย ผมยังไม่เปลี่ยนใจ ผมเลือกชวนเธอไปที่เกาะใต้ นิวซีแลนด์ หลังจากลงเครื่องบินที่ไครส์เชิร์ช (Christchurch) เราเช่ารถยนต์ขับไปตามถนนสายน้อยมุ่งหน้าขึ้นเหนือ ผมแวะปั๊มน้ำ�มันเพื่อตุนเสบียง เธอกินพายแกะชิ้นแรกและ ชิน้ สุดท้ายในชีวติ เราปรึกษากันว่าคืนนีจ้ ะไปนอนทีไ่ คคัวร่า ผมจะพาเธอไปดูแมวน้ำ� วาฬ และโลมา ในทะเลที่ได้ชื่อว่า สมบูรณ์ที่สุดแห่งหนึ่งในซีกโลกใต้ เราเห็นสัตว์ทุกตัวดังกล่าว รวมถึงโลมาที่พุ่งผาดโผน เหนือน้ำ� จนเข้าสู่เวลาเย็นย่ำ� ดินเนอร์ใต้แสงเทียนมื้อนี้เป็น อาหารซีฟู้ดสดจากทะเล จานเด็ดคือกุ้งมังกรแดง (Crayfish) และหอยแมลงภู่ตัวอ้วนอร่อยจนน้ำ�ตาแทบเล็ด ที่พักของเราเป็นรีสอร์ทใกล้ชายหาด ลมในฤดูใบไม้ร่วงพัด ผ่าน คลื่นทยอยกระทบฝั่งได้ยินเสียงดังมาแต่ไกล พระจันทร์ ส่องสว่างกลางฟ้า อากาศเย็นเฉียบ สดชื่น บริสุทธิ์ สาแก่ใจ ผมจูงมือเธอไปเดินดูแสงจันทร์สะท้อนระลอกคลื่นเป็นสีเงิน ยวง... I fell in love with this island at first sight. It has been a very long lasting love from the first day I visited this island 30 years ago.However, today I have a woman in my life and my feeling for the

island hasn’t changed. Therefore, I decided to take this woman with me to South Island, New Zealand. After we landed in Christchurch, we hired a car and drove along the local roads, heading up north. I stopped by the petrol station to get some food. She had her first ever lamb pie and that was the last one that she would ever eat. We decided that we would stay at Kaikoura that night and I would take her to watch the sealions, whales and dolphins in one of the most fertile oceans in the south. We saw all the animals as mentioned, including the dolphins jumping out of the water.We had a romantic candle-lit dinner at sunset. Our dinner was fresh seafood, straight from the ocean. The recommended dishes were the fresh crayfish and tasty mussels, which were very mouthwatering. We stayed in a beach front resort. It was autumn back then with the ocean waves and wind as background sounds, creating peace of mind. The moon was shining and the cool refreshing breeze was blowing to produce natural soothing harmonies. We held hands and walked under the moon of love, with its soft light reflecting on the wide-open ocean.

It is not far from Fox Glacier. There are car parks and tourist information center around. It is free of charge and is a perfect way to spend a sunny day out with a walk around one to one and a half hours. The tour around Franz Josef Glacier and Fox Glacier can be self guided. It takes around one to one and a half hours. However, visitors can hire guides to take them to the face, where they will see chunks of ice breaking off, and hear the great creaks and sighs as the ice moves. Most hostels in New Zealand provide kitchen equipment. In the Franz Josef Glacier and Fox Glacier area, there are not many restaurants. So, self catering might be the best option.

the “Pass”. It is a long, tortuous road going round mountains. We planned our route along the west coast through a road called “Lewis Pass”. We went past wetlands, forests and lakes along the mountains, and then we drove down to the beaches and to the twin glaciers of Franz Josef Glacier and Fox Glacier. We woke up at dawn to the clear blue sky. This morning, we were meeting the locals around Fox Glaciers area. They have their own 120

personal helicopter. Not because they are rich, but this helicopter is their money making tools. They make a living by taking tourists up to the snow top of a mountain. Even though the cost of going up there is expensive, it is once in a life time experience which one’s can cherish forever. Therefore, I was willing to take Noo Dao up there, to the top of Fox Glacier. Noo Dao is excited about the river of ice of 13 km long, which looks like a white wall, full of sharp spikes. When the helicopter reached the height of 2600 meters from ground, the pilot slowly made a landing on fresh snow from last night. The snow is loosely held together so Noo Dao build a snow ball and throw it at me! That’s my lady!

The minimum cost is around 160 dollars. There are many routes that the helicopter can take, such as the route to watch the glaciers or the route which goes around Mount Cook. Franz Josef and Fox are both glaciers but Franz Josef is slightly more popular. Both glaciers are around half an hour away from each other. They are in a village, not a town, but there are many restaurants and supermarkets around. However, don’t forget to book hotels in advance, especially during the high season. 121

The road took us all the way to Haast, the last town at the end of west coast. From that point onwards, there will be no more villages, just a massive area of rainforests. Eventhough I like forests, I have to drive up the mountain instead. I told Noo Dao that she could sleep while we were on any other drive, but not this one. Haast pass has the most spectacular scenery in the world and drive along the coast is rated as one of the top 10 best drives in the world. The area features steep cliffs with many waterfalls and the narrow valleys into which they descend also mean they have a high movement rate. At last, we reached the misty mountain. It is easy to see why New Zealand film director Peter Jackson chose this region for so many Lord of the rings locations. I am certain that Noo Dao loves me, but I felt more assuring when I stood next to her at Lake Wanaka. It was in the evening when the sun was setting and the sky was filled with colours. Sometimes, love needs a little gimmick, and the best gimmick is when there is a spectacular view right in front of our eyes. 122

Most tourists drive past Wanaka in order to go to Queenstown. But if you have time, you should try staying at the hostels near the bank of the lake. The view is simply stunning. In addition to this, you should also try going to Puzzling World and the Mount Aspiring Heritage site if you have time to spare 123

In the past 20 years, Bungy jump has become the challenge, in which more than seven million people have accomplished. There are many places where Bungy jumps are available, but no other place would be as classic as this. The procedure is not hard, just buy tickes, weigh yourself, and wait around the bridge where a staff will bring you a cloth and a special rope for you to tie around your ankles. Then, you walk to the edge of the bridge, spread your arm

and scream as you throw yourself down to the river,situated 40 metres below. After a couple of rebounding, staffs will come over and pick you up on a raft. There might even be a special discount for those who had screamed for their life while jumping. Moreover, Jumping down backward is also allowed for those who like to be a bit showed-off. For those who wants a quiet holiday, on the way to Queenstown, there is a town called cromwell. There is a shop, selling fresh fruits. In addtion, at the back fo those shops are peach gardens. During that time, the peaches leaves were falling, changing the surroundings into gold brown colour.

Queenstown was so named as it was “fit for a queen” (Victoria). I took her all the way to Queenstown, Noo Dao open the door shakily because of the coldness which hits her from all sides. Moreover, she was shaking because of the beautiful scenery in front of her. That day Lake Wakatipu was magnificent, more than words can explain. There was the mountain range, The Remarkables, in the background, resting against the clear blue sky. We hurried to Skyline Gondola, so that we could see the break taking views high above town. The TSS Earnslaw is a vintage steamer plying the waters of Lake Wakatipu. Launched in 1912, TSS Earnslaw makes several trips daily across Lake wakatipu to Walter Peak High Country Farm on the western shores. It gives an insight into New Zealand’s farming lifestyle. The barbecue lunch, afternoon tea, or evennign dinner can also be enjoyed there.

Rugged mountains, majestic lakes, crystal clear air, and just so much to do. Couples can get onboard a cable car and experience the spectacular views. From bungy jumping to wine trials, jet boating to tramping, dinning to skiing, Queenstown has it all. The stay in Queenstown should be around two or three nights. There are shopping centres in town and a Chinese restaurant near the pier is quite good. Don’t forget to try the very tasty hamburgers, where there is a large queue of people, waiting to buy them, but it is worth the wait. Late at night, don’t tuck yourself into bed too quickly; you should walk around the piers. There are couple of pubs around or you could try the first ever ice bar in the world.

mountainous area of 16 Fiords is known as Fiordland. One of them is the most impressive Fiord in New Zealand, called Milford Sound. Because the Fiords are quite far away, some people travel there by small plane. However, the beauty of the picturesque drive is only for those who take it would know. It is a very worthwhile experience. The Milford Road is an alpine road with many places to stop, explore and take in the views. For example, viewing gantry is an elevated walkway beside beautiful small river large boulders covered with moss. From Queenstown to Milford, the journey is around 290 km. Because the road is narrow and twisting, the journey takes around five to six hours. It is not recommended to make the return journey in a day because it is too tiring to do so and it is impossible to cover all the sights in one day. Instead, staying over at Te Anau is much better and just stopping at sights along the way.

There are many boat companies which depart the pier every hour. The recommended time for booking a boat is around 11 am. If you stay at Te Anua, you should leave early in order to get there on time and drive back slowly, stopping at the attraction points of the heritage site.

I took her on a boat sailing in the lake, looking at the ice, broken off from the glacier. I took her with me for a walk in the nearest heaven on earth. Because I know that in this magical land, under these mountains, my love would be at its peak. My feeling at that moment were just fully of love; love for the scenery, love for the nature, and love for her......

It takes around four to five hours to get there. You should try to stay here for a couple of nights because the Herimitage Hotel is as good as they say. However, if the cost of staying there is not affordable, you could try staying at other hotels in Mount Cook Village. Don’t sleep anywhere else and drive here because it is more beautiful here and much colder. There are not many restaurants in the area. You might have to eat at the hotels or prepare food to be cooked in the hostels (There is no kitchen in the hotel). There are many activities to participate in, such as treking, hiking or cruising to the glaciers. The quality of your time there depends on the weather. If possible, check the weather forecast in advance and visit on a sunny day. Then, this world will be like heaven for you.

ดอกรัก ความบริสฺุทธิ์อันไร้ซึ่ง การแต่งแต้มด้วยสีสันใดๆ เปรียบดัง ศิลปะสุดคลาสสิค ที่เย้ายวนให้ปกป้อง คุณเคยเห็นดอกรัก ช่อดอกรัก หรือต้นดอกรักไหม? หากว่าคุณเป็นคนที่เติบโตมาใน เมืองใหญ่ ห่างไกลจากท้องทุ่งและต้นไม้สีเขียว ฉันก็ยังกล้าท้าว่าคุณต้องเคยเห็นดอกรัก แน่นอน แต่อาจจะมาในรูปของดอกรักที่ถูกนำ�มารัดร้อยเป็นพวงมาลัย หาซื้อได้ทั่วไปตาม สีแ่ ยกไฟแดง หรือแม้กระทัง่ ดอกรักพลาสติกทีบ่ านทนทานตลอดกาลนานไม่มวี นั เหีย่ วเฉา เว้นเสียแต่ว่าเจ้าดอกรักพลาสติกนี้ ช่างขาดความมีชีวิตชีวา และแถมทำ�ให้ โลกร้อน ขึ้นอีกโขอยู่ สำ�หรับฉัน ซึ่งเติบโตมากับทุ่งนาทุ่งข้าว ต้องเดินไปโรงเรียนประถมประจำ�หมู่บ้านทุกวัน ต้องผ่านทางลูกรังที่สองข้างทางมักจะมีต้นไม้ดอกไม้ที่พร้อมใจกันเติบโตเบ่งบาน โดยไม่ ต้องมีใครมาคอยรดน้ำ�เอาใจใส่ หนึ่งในดอกไม้ที่ฉันรู้จักและคุ้นเคย หนึ่งในนั้นก็คือดอกรัก จำ � ได้ ว่าระหว่างทางไปโรงเรียนประถมของฉัน มีกอดอกรักกอใหญ่อยู่กอหนึ่ง ซึ่งเป็นต้น ดอกรักที่สุดแสนจะขยันขันแข็ง ที่ว่าขยันก็คือมันไม่เคยเว้นว่างจากการออกดอกเลย มันมักจะให้ดอกไม้สขี าวอมเขียว มีดอกเป็นช่อๆ แต่ละดอกมีกลีบเลีย้ งเล็กๆ ประคับประคอง กลีบดอกอันแสนบอบบางไม่เหมือนใคร ดอกรักต้นนี้ นอกจากจะทำ�ให้การเดินบนถนนที่ทอดยาวจากบ้านไปโรงเรียนเป็นสิ่งที่ ไม่ น่าเบื่อนักสำ�หรับนักเรียนตัวเล็กๆ อย่างฉันในสมัยนั้น และยังเป็นที่หมายปองของชาวบ้าน เวลาที่หมู่บ้านเล็กๆ ของเรามีงานบุญ โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่ง งานแต่งงานของคนในหมู่บ้าน ทีจ่ ะขาดดอกไม้ชนิดนี้ไม่ได้เลย หรือแม้กระทัง่ เวลาที่โรงเรียนของฉันมีงานไหว้ครู ซึง่ นักเรียน แต่ละชั้นก็จะต้องพากันจัดพานไหว้ครูแบบไม่มี ใครยอมใคร ดอกรักต้นนี้ก็ทำ�หน้าที่ของมัน เป็นอย่างดีมาโดยตลอด เวลาผ่านไป จากเด็กประถมที่ต้องเดินไปโรงเรียนประถมในหมู่บ้าน กลายเป็นเด็กที่ต้อง ขึ้นรถแต่เช้าตรู่ เพื่อไปให้ทันรถโรงเรียนมัธยมในเมืองอยู่หลายปี ต้นไม้ดอกไม้สองข้างทาง ก็ออกดอกผลิใบคอยต้อนรับเด็กนักเรียนรุ่นใหม่ๆ พร้อมกับการเปลี่ยนแปลงของถนน หนทาง จากที่เคยเป็นทางที่ปูด้วยดินลูกรัง กลายเป็นถนนคอนกรีต ต้นไม้ต้นเดิมๆ หายไป กลายเป็นต้นไม้ที่นักทำ�ถนนลงความเห็นกันว่าโตเร็วกว่าต้นไม้พื้นบ้าน แน่นอนว่า ต้นรัก ที่ฉันรัก ก็ได้หายไปพร้อมกับการเปลี่ยนแปลงนี้ ชาวบ้านที่ต้องการใช้ดอกรักในงานพิธี ต่างๆ ก็เปลี่ยนจากการเดินไปเด็ดดอกรักข้างทาง สู่การไปซื้อดอกรักในตลาดดอกไม้ ที่เดินทางไกลมาจากสวนดอกรักแถบภาคกลาง เด็ดสำ�เร็จ และพร้อมใช้ ไม่ต้องผจญกับ ยางขาวๆ ของดอกรักที่คอยแต่จะเปื้อนเสื้อผ้าทุกทีไป

Scientific Name : Calotropis Gigantea Flowers are a must on these occasions. There are also school events, such as on Teacher’s Day where students will be competing against each other in arranging flowers and crown flowers have never failed in doing their duty. Time passes, things change. From a primary school student walking to a small school in the village to a high school student catching a city bus early in the morning to get to school on time. The trees around my old school blossomed and welcomed all the new students to the school. The old gravel road was then changed into a concrete road. The old trees were chopped down and replaced with new trees, which developers believed could grow faster than the old trees. My favorite crown flowers were lost forever. Nowadays, the villagers need to buy their flowers from markets instead of picking them by themselves. They want flowers that can be used immediately without getting dirty from picking and preparing. White sap or rubber comes from the flowers when you prepare them for garlands.

Have you ever seen crown flowers, crown leaves, or crown trees? Even if you grew up in the city, far away from nature, I am certain that you will have seen crown flowers somewhere before. Perhaps, in a different arrangement, such as in garlands. These garlands can be bought at any intersection. They sometimes use plastic crown flowers, which cannot wilt. The plastic ones can never wither unless the owner decide to chuck them in the bin and doesn’t care about global warming or the environment. As for me, I was raised on a farm. I used to walk to school on a gravel road everyday. The road was lined with trees and there were always crown flowers blossoming, but no one was looking after them. Therefore, one of the flowers that I will always remember is the crown flower. I remember that on my way to school, there was this one particular area, full of crown flowers. I can’t remember a time when there were no flowers in this place. The white of the flowers was always visible with a tiny bit of green of the sepals supporting their delicate petals. These crown flowers did not only make my journey to school less boring, but also useful on many occasions. For example, people in my village always used crown flowers during festivals or celebrations, especially with weddings.

Sometimes, old memories make me smile and cherish the good times I had.Jjust like when I look back to the time when my friend and I walked from school, and stopped by the road in order to collect flowers for our school’s flower arrangement competition. Even though, today, crown trees are not there anymore, the good and beautiful memories remain. Moreover, I believe that these particular crown flower trees haven’t disappeared or vanished from this world. They probably leave their seeds of love in the wind and continue their journey to the right place in order to blossom into a beautiful crown flower in the future Through time, I might have fallen in love with other flowers occasionally but every time I see crown flowers, the old feelings for this flower springs back to me. The crown flower is still the flower that I just can’t get bored with. Maybe it is because of its complicated petals, or its soft colours. And, if we look at this flower carefully enough, we will spot the special pattern, created by nature, especially for this flower. This beautiful pattern is at the bottom of the flower, right next to the delicate green sepal which acts like a small green tiara decorating it. Now there are many colours of crown flowers available, such as purple and pink, and those with complicated petals. However, the thing that makes crown flowers so popular and well-liked is its Thai name. The name in Thai is “Dok Rak” which means ‘flower of love’.I want people to love someone or something more and eliminate hatred. I believe that this is the hidden meaning behind this name.
