STUDENT PROFILE Courtney Childs’ current collection, named L’ete au paradis, combines an organic color pallet with origami folds to create something that is truly unique. Her 10-look collection will debut at New Orleans Fashion Week. Childs, a senior in the LSU College of Agriculture majoring in textiles, apparel design, and merchandising, has participated in numerous industry events and has completed two internships, most notably with TaxiCo Clothing in Sydney, Australia, during her junior year.

In addition to industry experiences, Childs has embraced many of the unique opportunities available in TAM. She is the current president of FALSU, the student-run fashion organization. She has presented numerous looks in the annual FALSU fashion show, including designs from her junior and senior collections. She was also a finalist in the Hemline for Hearts competition in which students are challenged to create garments from paper hearts in just three hours.
