Bloomfield’s Banquet

2

Bloomfield’s Banquet This year, the Bloomfield High School Key Club hosted its annual banquet at Bella Casa in Belleville. What exactly happens at this banquet, you may ask? This is when we retire the old officers, install the new officers and commemorate the members who have exceeded the 20-hour limit. Along with that, we also reflect on the past service year and present the awards we won at District Convention. Before beginning the dinner, we introduced the officers (incoming and outgoing), had an invocation, and an Activities Report from our immediate-past Secretary and Treasurer. Following the dinner, our Immediate-past President, Nicholas Acuna, presented the awards we won during District Convention. After this, the moment that everyone was waiting for had finally arrived: the installation and retirement of the current and former board. After the heartwarming speeches of all three advisors, former Lieutenant Governor of Division 17, Elizabeth Wallace, retired the old board, and current Lieutenant Governor, Ricky Thompson, installed the new board. After the Summer Projects were announced by the current Secretary and Treasurer, the President officially adjourned the banquet. It was definitely a night to remember! - Josh Mariscal, Vice President of Bloomfield Key Club

CMRFs & Dues CMRFs

INSERT PHOTO. I have been constantly pestering a lot of you to send in your CMRFs, so I thought it would only be fair to tell you why. CMRF stands for Club Monthly Report Form and they are always due on the 10th of every month! Even if you miss the deadline, you should still email it to me, the District Secretary, and the Zone Administrator. The time and effort you put into the forms do not go to waste; each CMRF is evaluated thoroughly by the people you send it to. The forms tell us how your club specifically serves the community and helps us (and you) keep track of all the A picture of a blank CMRF. I hours that have been completed. Come DCON, your club will be expecting completed can be rewarded for all your hard work! So please send in ones every month. those CMRFs on time! Dues Unfortunately, money makes the world go round, but not always in a bad way! Dues are important because they mainly go towards publications and printings. Part of the money also goes to training officers. Publications and technology keep the 13,000 Key Clubbers united. Dues pay into all of these things so that we can keep all of you updated and alert with what’s going on! There are two deadlines all the treasurers should know about; The Early Bird Deadline on November 1st and the normal Deadline on December 1st. Club making bank? Send in Club dues!

Instead of making it rain, pay dues on time!

Officer Training A majority of the clubs have agreed that it would be easier if I went to one of your general meetings and had the officers stay after for me to train them. I need to train the follow officer positions: President(s) Vice President(s) Sectary(s) Treasurer(s) Editor(s) Webmaster(s)

If I have not trained your officers yet, I will be in contact with you soon.

Building New Clubs If you have any friends in other schools around the New Jersey and they are interested in forming a Key Club within their school, please have them contact me and I will work my hardest to help them build a club.
