education
2019-2020_MArchII in Architecture (Mhab) at ETSAM in UPM, festiHUB
My diploma master thesis was centred around the revitalization of an abandoned historical market by means of an urban and architectural intervention, with the aim of transforming it into a hub for the development and display of the latest trends and technologies in large-scale live music shows. Through this project, I had the opportunity to explore the intersection of technology and space from an artistic perspective, while also prioritizing the human aspect of the intervention.
Jan. 2019_Architecture and Robotics Bachelor Thesis (8,7/10)
In my final bachelor thesis, I devised a comprehensive robotic self-reconfiguring system intended for installation in existing small apartments. This initiative was born out an extensive research on the escalating cost per square meter in urban centres and the growing demand for additional and diverse living spaces.
2012-2018_6-Year Bachelor in Architecture at ETSAM in UPM
Throughout my studies, I sought out ambitious projects and worked with diverse supervisors who employed a range of design methodologies to expand my perspective when approaching a brief. However, I have consistently maintained a strong emphasis on incorporating technology while prioritizing the human experience and environmental sustainability as the fundamental pillars supporting each project.

FIFTY-SIX
Architecture
Fifty-Six is a stunning renovation of a traditional townhouse in Mosta, Malta. The project is deeply rooted in the Maltese landscape and the soft, warm limestone that characterizes it. By using this stone as the foundation of the project, the design creates a timeless and authentic space that connects the past, present, and future. The architecture of the space emphasizes pure geometries and a neutral, warm colour palette to create a sense of timelessness. The natural local materials and curves add an organic touch to the space, evoking the beauty of the Maltese landscape.
Interior design
In the interior design, the proposal takes inspiration from the local architecture and landscape, as well. The corners of the space are softened and curved, creating an organic and welcoming atmosphere that respects the original essence of the townhouse. The traditional mouldings and skirtings are restored and repurposed as art pieces that add character and charm to the new design. The original arches of the space are translated into vaults that host various services, adding value to the transition between spaces. The furniture and materials selected are organic and natural, contributing to a sense of comfort and protection for the user. The resulting space is the epitome of the concept of “home,” offering a warm and inviting atmosphere that is both authentic and modern.

IBG HOUSES VILLA
01
Architecture
This architectural concept was born from the desire to harmoniously integrate the built environment with the natural surroundings. By intentionally blurring the boundaries between interior and exterior spaces, this design frames the environment and invites it to be a part of the experience.
The design language is defined by a play of contrasts -openness versus enclosure, simplicity versus complexity, coolness versus warmth, and lightness versus darkness- resulting in a dynamic and engaging space that challenges and delights the senses.
Interior design
In the interior design, a consistent colour palette and volumetric language are employed to create a cohesive narrative and allow for the strategic highlighting or concealing of elements. Through the thoughtful use of lighting, materials, and composition, the elements of nature, architecture, and objects are framed as works of art themselves.
In the organization of space, the communication of functional zones is achieved through a central core that houses storage, services, and vertical circulation while secondary spaces are created by extruding walls and kept hidden from plain sight. A 60x60 module is followed to add rhythm and balance to the design.

IBG HOUSES VILLA 02
Architecture
This architectural proposal was designed with the goal of framing the surrounding environment and blurring the boundaries between interior and exterior spaces. The design approach contrasts opposites -open vs. closed, plain vs. volumetric, cold vs. warm, light vs. shadow- to achieve a sense of comfort and dynamic spaces that inspire and challenge the user.
The building’s architecture is part of the interior design, creating an open and seamless transition between interior and exterior spaces. The use of the same colourization for the facade and soffit/walls, as well as the same flooring for interior and exterior spaces, creates a neutral background that allows for personalization with details without altering the architecture, providing a timeless feeling.
Interior design
Oak is used to wrap the whole core, adding warmth and colour to the design, while creating a dramatic and interesting transitional space. This material ties in with the rest of the house through strategic wooden apertures, flooring, cladded walls, and joinery units, connecting the spaces and resembling the natural growth of a tree in space.
Overall, this design approach creates a seamless and harmonious relationship between interior and exterior spaces, blurring the boundaries and providing a sense of comfort and flexibility in the use of the space. The contrasting elements add a dynamic and unexpected quality to the design, creating everchanging spaces that inspire and surprise. The use of natural materials such as oak and neutral colours adds warmth and timelessness to the design.

NINETEEN-D
Architecture
Nineteen follows the notion of translation; translation from a traditional dwelling situated in one of the most prominent old fishing villages in Malta, Spinola Bay, into a contemporary residence. An intervention that is relevant to present times, whilst retaining the character of the existing architectural elements. The patio serves as the focal point of the proposal, with the design enlarging it and creating a light box that pierces through all four levels of the house. A minimal curtain system allows for flexibility in opening and closing the space, turning walls into full apertures while also concealing the elevator.
Interior design
The interior design proposal draws inspiration from the traditional Italian palazzo style guidelines. The materials used, such as travertine, plaster, and limestone, are showcased in different levels, aligning with the original house features and balancing the space. A neutral colour palette creates a timeless canvas for the users to inject their own personal style, such as art and vintage furniture pieces.
The resulting space is a beautiful integration of the past and present, preserving the historic character of the dwelling while adding contemporary touches. The patio and light box serve as innovative design elements, bringing in natural light and creating an inviting atmosphere that is both warm and modern. The interior design employs classic materials and a neutral colour palette, offering a versatile canvas for personal expression and style.

04 VILLAS
Architecture
The design approach takes a holistic view of the project, treating all plots as a cohesive whole. This allows for a thoughtful integration of each villa not only with its immediate surroundings, but with the entire development site. The resulting design effectively manages views, heights, shapes, and privacy concerns.
1-2. To achieve this, the plot geometry is mirrored inwardly, creating a distinctive geometry that will host our 4 villas.
3. A central axis is added to create an engaging interplay of perspectives, as the two masses are visually connected through the use of sloping terrain. This visual connection creates an intriguing dialogue between the villas, adding depth and interest to the design.
4. This axis is further emphasized through the strategic placement of apertures, which serve to optimize views of the surrounding greenery while preserving privacy between the villas.
5. In recognition of the surrounding environment, the design incorporates a green axis that runs throughout the site, dividing the villas and providing a lush, relaxing buffer zone. This greenery serves not only to enhance privacy, but also to provide a welcome respite from the desert island surroundings.

thesis
Within the context of my master thesis, I explore the imperative to repurpose antiquated typologies within the urban fabric, in order to foster innovative experimentation and revitalize vacant urban voids. A prime example of this is this proposal to transform Madrid’s obsolete Legazpi Market into a dynamic cultural and innovation centre that specializes in large scale music events. The 30,000m2 triangular site encompasses a two-story industrial building and a strong reticular concrete structure measuring 6x6m.
Architecture
The proposed design is defined by three integral components: the cultural centre (La Nave), HUB, and the Stage. By strategically carving out voids within the original static structure, the reimagined building incorporates dynamic festival-inspired light steel structures and elements that efficiently host experimental spaces. Technology is an essential element of the design, from the architectural structure to the intelligent facade of the inner patio, serving as a fundamental means to fulfil the new energetic requirements and promote flexibility.
The project pays homage to the historical significance of the original construction, recognizing its relevance to Madrid’s architectural legacy. As such, the past, present, and future are inextricably intertwined, transcending temporal boundaries to create a seamless narrative. This is not a new beginning, but rather the next chapter in the evolution of the building’s and neighbourhood´s story.

I S S A _Biennale Architettura 2023
Concept
“Architecture is the very mirror of life” Pei says. “You only have to cast your eyes on buildings to feel the presence of the past, the spirit of a place; they are a reflection on society.”
I S S A is a void that encourages the user to be lost in the now. It is a connection between the self and the moment. An aura of mystery translated into matter, defined by a timeline of materials from the ground rising up, representing the past and the present. The space provokes an emotional reaction; a sensitive awareness for the user to reconnect with their existence and roots.

TERRA _Tili Vini Guest House
Architecture
TERRA is the representation of a primitive, ancient tradition. The craftsmanship of cultivating the land for the production of wine. A ritual that has been practiced over centuries. This strong bond of life is represented by humans and the land. Defining timelessness, by forcing past, present, and future into one architectural intervention. Providing REFUGE as an escape from everyday reality, a REMOTE context, bringing users closer to a natural and rural landscape; and a RITUAL, the wine making process, the Tili Vini process that brings people together celebrating the now.
The form has been articulated to create a landmark within its context, a brand image for the Tili Vini Company. The new extension is the re-interpretation of the existing structure. The plan has been extruded using the same massing, and the same tilted roofs. A rotation follows to maximize the potential views and sun orientation. The volume was then divided into 5 separate volumes, defining the guest houses. By subtracting and moving volumes, each guest house is clearly identified, with private outdoor spaces, and well-defined views of the surrounding context.

TWS _Apartments Tower
Architecture
This tower represents a bold and innovative approach to architectural residential design, with its unique use of triangles creating a visually striking and dynamic composition that stands out from the surrounding skyline.
The angles of the triangles have been carefully calculated to ensure the stability and strength to endure the wind forces. The exterior of the building is clad in glass, with the triangular terraces providing a unique texture and visual interest to the façade. Each terrace is bordered by a low glass wall, which allows residents to enjoy panoramic views of the city of Valletta, Mdina or open sea.
There are 5 different level typologies with the outdoor space increasing as we go up. The triangular shapes of the terraces create a dynamic and interesting living space, with floor-to-ceiling windows that allow for plenty of natural light and stunning views. The apartments stepped design ensures privacy while frames the breathtaking landscape and provides a private outdoor space for each bedroom.

_Lisbon memorial site
In the heart of Lisbon, hidden beneath the earth, lies a monument of memory that stirs the soul. As you enter, the sound of rushing water echoes through the cavernous space, drawing you in with its hypnotic rhythm and casting shimmering reflections across the space. Its walls, hewn from rough concrete, stand as a testament to the strength and resilience of those who came before. Here, amidst the quiet and stillness, one can feel the weight of history, the stories and struggles of those who have gone before us and the suffering that brought the devastation back in November 1755.
As the sun sets over the Tagus River, the memorial’s ceiling is illuminated by shafts of light that pierce the darkness, casting a warm glow upon the somber interior resembling the candle lights that started the fire. The play of light and shadow creates an otherworldly atmosphere, drawing visitors deep into the depths of the monument and isolating them from reality. Finally, a lonely arch, silent testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the city, emerges from the water with the low tide as a beacon of hope for all who seek solace and renewal in troubled times.
The memorial’s austere beauty is a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope, always a glimmer of light that shines through the shadows. The sight is breathtaking, the sound soothing, and the overall effect is both powerful and serene.

Facade system description
The facade shading system would be composed of a series of glass panels that are mounted on a motorized frame. The motorized frame would be equipped with sensors that detect the position of the sun and communicate with a control system to adjust the direction and angle of the shading system.
The glass panels themselves would be made of a photovoltaic material that converts sunlight into electricity. The electricity generated by the panels would be stored in batteries, which would power back the facade system alongside with supplying electricity to light up the square and building during night time.
The control system would be able to adjust the orientation and angle of the shading system in real-time to follow the sun’s movement and optimize shading for the building’s interior - as we can see in the Grasshopper preview image. The system could be programmed to automatically adjust the shading angle during different times of the day or season, ensuring optimal shading and energy generation.
The glass panels would be transparent, allowing natural light to enter the building while also blocking direct sunlight and reducing heat gain. The panels could be designed with different levels of transparency and incorporates a colour lighting system to achieve different aesthetic effects.
Overall, the intelligent facade shading system would provide a sustainable solution for reducing energy consumption and improving building performance. It would also offer an attractive and innovative facade design that reflects the building’s program while respects the commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency.
