New Milestone in the History of the

A

Black Watch Porsche Design Timepiece No. 1 and Chronograph Titanium

Limited Edition

Porsche Design is writing a new chapter in the history of watchmaking and marking another milestone. Following more than 40 years of successful collaboration with renowned watchmakers, the luxury brand presents the Porsche Design Timepiece No. 1 and Porsche Design Chronograph Titanium Limited Edition models. These two automatic chronographs mark the beginning of the era Timepieces made by Porsche Design. The watches, which are the first to be developed completely in-house, are designed on the basis of the same principles used by Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche for the very first Porsche Design watch – the legendary Chronograph I: optimal readability, technical perfection, the highest quality materials and an absolute focus on functionality. Each of the new watch models is limited to 500 units. They will be available from November in Porsche Design Stores worldwide and from exclusive specialist retailers. NEVER COMPROMISING With its first watch in 1972, Porsche Design introduced a style-defining classic: It was not a watch in the traditional sense, made from gold or silver. Rather, it was a revolutionary time measurement instrument designed entirely in matt black. The first watches to be developed completely in-house build on this tradition and continue the legacy of the Chronograph I with their non-compromising design. They are innovative precision tools, optimised in terms of case size and their finely crafted surfaces, as well as in terms of ease of use and wearer comfort.

12

Porsche Design has taken advantage of the technical possibilities offered by the new millennium in implementing these new features, delighting both engineers and lovers of design alike. NOTHING IS SOLELY DECORATIVE Functionality and aesthetics were equal partners in the mind of Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, with neither taking priority over the other, and this conviction held by the founder set a trend that applies to this day. Nothing is there just for decoration: The impressively defined shapes are derived from the functionality and made from carefully selected, authentic materials that are assembled with highly skilled workmanship. The aesthetics of the Timepiece No. 1 and Chronograph Titanium's dials further reflect this purism. The hands and bar indices are filled with white luminescent material so that the large dial is as clear as possible at all times. The white lettering also contrasts with the black instrument dial. The date is displayed level with the “3“. PUSHING THE BOUNDARIES OF WHAT IS TECHNICALLY FEASIBLE The two automatic chronographs have been developed entirely by Porsche Design Timepieces AG, based in Solothurn (Switzerland), and have also been manufactured in Switzerland. Both timepieces feature cases made from titanium, with a diameter of 42 millimetres. The black case of the Timepiece No. 1 is not painted, but is instead coated using a special procedure to make the matt black finish even more durable. With regard to technical features, both models are equipped with a mechanical Valjoux 7750 chronograph mechanism that has a power reserve of 48 hours. The blackened sapphire crystal case back that shows the inner workings of the exclusive, energy-optimised Porsche Design rotor is a real eye-catcher. The Porsche Design Timepiece No. 1 with black rubber strap and the Chronograph Titanium Limited Edition with black calf leather strap are waterproof down to a depth of 50 metres (5 ATM) and are each limited to just 500 units. ‹‹‹

Bugatti presented a special car, the Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse “1 of 1”, on Saturday in Pebble Beach, California. This edition of the fastest production roadster in the world impressively demonstrates a core competency of the French luxury brand, namely customisation. The Grand Sport Vitesse “1 of 1” takes inspiration from the brand’s historical designs and vehicles. Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse The result is a unique supercar which Bugatti president Wolfgang Dürheimer personally presented to the future owner from Singapore.

“The Bugatti Veyron is an iconic car, which has set benchmarks in many respects”, said Wolfgang Dürheimer, President of Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. “In addition to the certainty of owning the world’s fastest production sports car, exclusiveness is extremely important to our customers. This is the reason that we have always placed so much focus on customisation and personalisation at Bugatti.” Every Bugatti which has been configured by a customer is unique. In addition to these, Bugatti produces strictly limited special editions. The Grand Sport Vitesse “1 of 1” presented at Pebble Beach is truly one of a kind, with a number of features exclusively designed and developed by Bugatti for the customer of this car. “For our customers, a Bugatti is an investment in an automotive work of art which will endure for generations. This is why every Bugatti is both unique and absolutely authentic in its technical prowess and stylistic form,” emphasises Achim Anscheidt, Chief Designer at Bugatti. In the creation of the Grand Sport Vitesse “1 of 1”, the Bugatti design team and the customer took their inspiration from Bugatti’s history. BUGATTI REVIVES THE BRAND’S TRADITIONAL COLORS, BLACK AND YELLOW The carbon-fiber body of the “1 of 1” was produced in black and yellow, reviving the historical Bugatti family colors. This color scheme and the split will be exclusive to the Grand Sport Vitesse “1 of 1”. Company founder Ettore Bugatti and his son Jean had a number of important cars finished in the classic duo-tone combination of black and yellow, including the Fiacre bodies of the Type 41 Royale, the Type 55 and the Type 44. For this reason, the “1 of 1” was presented to the customer next to a Type 44 which was provided by the Mullin Automotive Museum in Oxnard, USA, especially for this occasion. The black-and-yellow color scheme went beyond the vehicles themselves at Bugatti. Even the beams over the old oak gates of the Bugatti headquarters in Molsheim, Alsace were painted in these colors.

The Bugatti designers gave the historical color combination a modern interpretation and developed an exclusive design which makes the Grand Sport Vitesse “1 of 1” unique. Most of the body is exposed deep-black carbon divided by a “1 of 1” yellow tone, developed together with the customer, applied to sections of the front wings, beginning beneath the headlights

True to Ettore Bugatti’s motto “Nothing is too beautiful, nothing is too expensive”

and tapering as it extends behind the doors. The A-pillars, the air scoops, the engine cover and the striking rear wings are also finished in “1 of 1” yellow. The wings were finished in a very special way. Sections of the carbon-fiber body parts were given a top coat while others received a clear coat. The differing finishes require substantial technical effort and highly skilled workmanship because the carbon-fiber layers must be differently applied exactly along the future color boundaries in order to attain the weave patterns required for the clear-coated exposed carbon fiber and top-coated carbon fiber. The legendary Bugatti horseshoe on the front grille is yellow on the front part

while the inner section is black. And it is impossible to overlook the wheels of the Grand Sport Vitesse. The rims are painted black and yellow. The rims with the unique dual tone are an exclusive feature of the Grand Sport Vitesse “1 of 1”, and the initials of Ettore Bugatti on the hubcaps likewise glow in yellow. This detail also appears on the oil and fuel flap. NEWLY DEVELOPED DESIGN FOR THE GRILLE For the first time, Bugatti has specially designed the radiator grille in the Bugatti horseshoe at the customer’s request. The traditional expanded mesh grille was replaced in the Grand Sport Vitesse “1 of 1” with a grille in which the customer’s initials, “PL”, were laser cut. In an extremely complex process, which Bugatti developed and patented, every inner surface of the grille was handpolished. After that the grille was blackanodised, then the front was polished and the grill was finished again with a natural anodised layer. More than 200 working hours are needed to attain this special, luxurious anodised duo-tone appearance in the finest quality. BUGATTI LOGO AS TRIBUTE TO THE BRAND The customer’s wish to express the historical roots of Bugatti in his Grand Sport Vitesse “1 of 1” was expressed in another detail of the car which cannot be overlooked: the brand logo, lovingly called the Bugatti “macaron”. Company founder Ettore developed it himself, injecting his sense of workmanship and his love for luxurious detail, just as he did with his cars. An engineer to the core, Ettore Bugatti specified that the oval shape of the logo should be twice as long as it is high, as if one were to cut a tube at a thirty-degree angle. The name “Bugatti” is set off with a black shadow, over which the initials of Ettore Bugatti are elegantly placed. These initials, incidentally, are also used independently of this logo. Both elements are surrounded by sixty dots reminiscent of a string of pearls which increase the impression of elegance. The Bugatti logo still embellishes every Bugatti today and looks especially authentic as an enamel badge. In this form, the character

15

of the logo upon which Ettore Bugatti placed such great value is well expressed: it is a hand-crafted work of art. The Bugatti logo is among the most elegant automobile logos in the world today. No other modern Bugatti displays the Bugatti macaron as prominently as does the Grand Sport Vitesse “1 of 1”. In addition to being displayed in its traditional place as an enamel badge on the grille of every Bugatti, here it appears in black on the yellow underside of the rear wing when it extends at 180 km/h. THE CLASSIC BLACK-AND-YELLOW COLOR SCHEME CONTINUES IN THE INTERIOR The interior also clearly echoes to the Bugatti family colors. The complete interior is trimmed in black leather. The instrument panel is made of deep-black exposed carbon. The yellow decorative stitching on the steering wheel, seats and gear selector lever seems to glow. Gracing the cabin is a shining yellow Bugatti Type 35, the most successful racing car ever with more than 2,000 victories and podium finishes, and one of the brand’s most symbolic models. At the customer’s request, a sketch of the Type 35 executed by a Bugatti designer has been rendered in the black carbon lid of the rear centre box between the seats. BUGATTI USES LASER PERFORATION TECHNIQUE FOR THE FIRST TIME The link to the modern history of Bugatti is

16

created on the black door panels. A new production technique was used for this: the door panel is made from due-tone leather, black on the outside and yellow on the inside. The leather was perforated with a laser so that the holes exposed the inner yellow layer. The result is a silhouette of a Bugatti Veyron. Of course, the classic methods of customising were also used in the Grand Sport Vitesse “1 of 1”. For example, the Bugatti logo and the text “one of one” – both in yellow – decorate the black carbon inlays on the extension of the centre console. As a very personal touch, the Bugatti designers created a portrait of the customer and engraved it together with his name in the door sill trim. SEEMINGLY LIMITLESS CHOICE OF WAYS TO CUSTOMISE The Bugatti Veyron enjoys the reputation of being a unique masterpiece. Its market launch almost ten years ago revitalised the French luxury brand’s legendary automotive tradition characterised by superlatives. The Veyron is the most powerful and fastest production sports car in the world. Bordering on the limits of technological possibility, it is nevertheless endowed with great day-to-day practicality because it is both easy and intuitive to drive as well as being comfortable.

“For our customers, a Bugatti is an investment in an automotive work of art which will endure for generations. This is why every Bugatti is both unique and absolutely authentic in its technical prowess and stylistic form” The Grand Sport Vitesse “1 of 1” is the result of many months of close cooperation between Bugatti’s design team and the customer. Focusing on the customers and their wishes is one of the brand’s great strengths. In the spirit of Ettore Bugatti, whose motto was “Nothing is too expensive, nothing is too beautiful”, the company continues to work in partnership with its customers to design vehicles which express both the legend of the brand and the personality of the customers.

they would like it. Our customers’ wishes are our highest priority.”

“A Bugatti is purchased as a collector’s item. As a brand, we do everything to be worthy of the trust placed in us and to maintain the sustained value of this automotive icon,” notes Wolfgang Dürheimer. “This means that we also support our customers in the personalisation of their Bugatti in the way

Bugatti also works passionately to satisfy its customers’ wishes regarding the colors for the leather in the interior or the selection of exclusive materials such as gold, platinum, porcelain, crystal glass and more. ‹‹‹

The average net price of Bugatti vehicles sold, including options, is presently more than €2 million. For example, the clearcoated exposed carbon-fiber body is very popular. To go with it, Bugatti now offers nine colors, more than any other manufacturer. The French luxury brand presently offers more than 100 different colors for fully painted carbon-fiber bodies.

Lifestyle Capsule Collection

Bugatti

Legends O

n the occasion of the once-inalifetime- presentation of the complete “Les Légendes de Bugatti” Edition at “The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering” and the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance this weekend, Bugatti unveiled its latest lifestyle capsule collection dedicated to the successful series of special cars, which honors key personalities and vehicles from the company’s history. The tailor-made fashion and accessories pieces for men and women take inspiration from each of the six Bugatti Legends models and are as exclusive as the sold-out Legends Edition itself.

18

Six outfits matched for men and women mirroring the theme of each

BUGATTI LEGEND

“The Bugatti Legends Capsule Collection is an authentic example of Bugatti’s new lifestyle activities and exclusive product lines that we dedicate to our customers and lovers of the brand,” says Wolfgang Dürheimer, President of Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. The capsule collection interprets - with a contemporary touch - the styles typical of the brand and its design DNA, using exclusive high-quality materials and state-of-the-art machining: buffalo, deer, calf and cordovan leather join precious metal parts in a harmonious union of technology and sophisticated luxury. There is a man’s and woman’s outfit devoted to each of the Legends models, sharing a bond with the respective vehicle through color patterns, prints and illustrations representing the mood and theme of each Bugatti Legend. Each line consists of leather jackets, pants, T-shirts, gloves, belts, hats, scarfs and bags. The unique six outfits in this striking Bugatti Legends capsule collection are available exclusively for owners of the respective vehicles, with stylistic elements and materials from this ultra-exclusive collection gradually entering Bugatti’s general lifestyle collection lines. “Authentic and with attention to detail, this Bugatti Legends capsule collection is one of the first tailormade lifestyle projects the brand has dedicated to its customers,” explains Massimiliano Ferrari, Managing Director of Bugatti International and in charge of Brand Lifestyle.

“JEAN-PIERRE WIMILLE” LEGEND Unveiled in California one year ago to inaugurate the Legends series, the “Jean-Pierre Wimille” Legend is dedicated to Bugatti’s former factory race driver, who took home the brand’s first victory in the 1937 Le Mans 24-hour race and repeated this triumph a mere two years later. The Legend vehicle’s design pays tribute to Wimille’s racing car in 1937, the Bugatti Type 57G Tank. The outfit celebrates the champion’s feats on the lining of the jacket, which has a stylized drawing of the Le Mans racetrack and on the unique edition T-shirt with a print of the racing goggles typical of the period. The dedication is sealed by the driver’s signature on the top part of the jacket lining and on the T-shirts. An outfit dedicated to all lovers of precision and attention to detail. The matched set consists of a man’s or woman’s jacket in bi-color buffalo hide with tie-dyed heritage treatment. The silk lining is printed with a background of herringbone carbon fiber. The Jean-Pierre Wimille outfit includes a man’s T-shirt in mercerized jersey with all over tiedyed print, a woman’s T-shirt in tie-dyed effect silk jersey with Swarovski crystal decorated print, driver’s gloves in blue leather, unisex bi-color buffalo hide belt with a striking EB monogram buckle, a tie-dyed effect silk foulard and clutch with EB logo pattern and an exclusive Borsalino bicolor straw hat for men or women.

“JEAN BUGATTI” LEGEND The “Jean Bugatti” Legend was presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year and was created to honor Ettore Bugatti’s elder son and his most famous creation, the Type 57SC Atlantic. It represents the family’s pioneering spirit and the creative genius of Jean, a key figure in the creation and consolidation of the brand’s style. The distinctive characteristic of this line is the special workmanship of the jacket with the iconic Bugatti center line of metal rivets inserted in the back. The jacket lining is printed with the Atlantic Type 57 silhouette and Jean Bugatti’s signature. A set with strong, decisive features dedicated to lovers of design.

19

The matched set consists of a man’s and woman’s jacket in black plongé leather with silvery details and mastique and cacao bi-color silk lining. The Jean Bugatti look includes a man’s unique edition T-shirt in black mercerized jersey with the Atlantic Type 57 silhouette printed on the back and the signature on the front, a woman’s unique edition T-shirt with all-over print silk kimono sleeves and a back in silk jersey, leather driver’s gloves in two shades of cacao, and a unisex bi-color plongé leather belt with striking EB monogram buckle in polished aluminium. Further pieces are a silk foulard and a silk clutch in the same light colors as the car interior, with the Atlantic Type 57 silhouette printed in the center and an exclusive Borsalino bicolor straw hat for men or women.

20

“MEO COSTANTINI“ LEGEND  The edition continued with the “Meo Costantini” Legend, unveiled at the Dubai Motorshow last year. Meo Costantini was a close friend of the company’s founder, Ettore Bugatti. He was the head of Bugatti’s factory race team for many years and was also a driver, winning the Targa Florio two times in the Bugatti Type 35, one of the most successful racing cars of all time. Meo Costantini’s career lives again on the jacket lining: almost like a snapshot, the print shows him in the Bugatti as he speeds towards the finishing line. The “Meo Costantini” set is dedicated to all lovers of challenges and the world of car racing.

ONE OF THE FIRST TAILOR-MADE LIFESTYLE PROJECTS BUGATTI HAS DEDICATED TO ITS CUSTOMERS The matched set consists of a man’s or woman’s light blue plongé leather jacket with silvery details that recreate the center line in the middle of the back. The Meo Costantini outfit includes a man’s unique edition T-shirt in gray mercerized jersey with the same car print as the jacket lining, a woman’s gray T-shirt with silk kimono sleeves with all-over print on part of the front and a back in silk jersey, light blue/gray leather driver’s gloves and a unisex bicolor plongé leather belt with polished aluminium EB monogram buckle. A silk foulard and a silk clutch in the same light colors as the car interior, with a drawing of the driver in action printed in the center, add to the line as well as an exclusive Borsalino bicolor straw hat for men or women.

“REMBRANDT BUGATTI” LEGEND  Another Legends model, which debuted to the world at the Automobile Salon in Geneva this March, was dedicated to Rembrandt Bugatti, brother of company founder Ettore and one of the most important sculptors of the early 20th century. One of his most significant works is the sculpture of a dancing elephant. It decorates the radiator of the Bugatti Type 41 Royale and became one of the brand’s symbols and a distinctive feature of Bugatti’s current apparel collections. Obviously, the Rembrandt Bugatti look is chosen by all art enthusiasts. The matched set consists of a man’s or woman’s jacket in mastique- and cacaocolored intertwined calfskin with bronze galvanized metal parts. The silk lining is printed all over with a herringbone carbon fiber effect and has the dancing elephant in the center. The Rembrandt Bugatti outfit includes a man’s unique edition T-shirt in dark brown mercerized jersey with the dancing elephant printed on the front, a woman’s brown T-shirt with the dancing elephant on a silk front and a back in silk jersey, leather driver’s gloves in mastique/brown and a unisex bi-color plongé leather belt with striking bronze finish EB monogram buckle. Of course this line also features a silk foulard and a clutch, this time in light beige with the braided leather theme as seen on the car, and an exclusive bi-color Borsalino straw hat for men or women.

“BLACK BESS” LEGEND The “Black Bess” Legend, presented at the Auto China in Beijing, is the modern interpretation of the legendary Bugatti Type 18 “Black Bess”, which went down in automotive history as one of the first ever street legal super sports cars, one of the fastest road vehicles in the world at the time and a direct forerunner of today’s world speed record-holding Bugatti Veyron. Its first owner was the famous French aviator Roland Garros, who wanted a car that was able to drive as fast as his aircraft could fly. The Black Bess look therefore is the mandatory choice for all lovers of speed and high performance.

for everyone who believes in the values of tradition but never stops looking forward. The matched set consists of a man’s and woman’s jacket in hand-brushed brown cordovan leather with fine details in blue, the ever-present color that identifies the brand. The lining is in blue silk with allover carbon fiber print.

The matched set consists of a man’s and woman’s original black deerskin jacket with special gold-plated details and galvanized metal. The silk lining is printed all over in gray and shows Black Bess and Roland Garros’ airplane, an endorsement of the union between speed in the sky and on the road. The Black Bess outfit includes a man’s unique edition T-shirt in gray mercerized jersey with a one-color print, a woman’s T-shirt with black silk front, one-color print and Swarovski crystal details, and a back in silk jersey, black leather driver’s gloves and a unisex one-color plongé leather belt with gold-finish EB monogram buckle. A red silk foulard and a clutch with printed artwork, as well as a special Borsalino black straw hat with gold details for men or women, are other striking pieces of this line.

“ETTORE BUGATTI” LEGEND  Bugatti just completed its Legends edition with the presentation of the sixth and final Legends model at this year’s Monterey car week to celebrate company founder and patron of the brand himself, Ettore

Bugatti. Ettore Bugatti is one of the most important figures of the automotive world in the 20th century. He knew how to combine his family’s rich artistic heritage with his technological ideas and succeeded in creating the foundation for an unmistakeable design language that shaped the brand for years to come. The clean lines of the jacket enhance the dancing elephant, Ettore Bugatti’s legendary signature and the EB monogram on the inside. An outfit

The Ettore Bugatti outfit includes a man’s unique edition T-shirt in blue mercerized jersey with placed print and a one-color drawing on the front, a woman’s blue silk T-shirt with onecolor print and Swarovski crystal details on the front and a back in silk jersey, brown/blue leather driver’s gloves and a unisex cordovan leather belt with blue interior and silver-finish EB monogram buckle. A foulard and a clutch in brown/blue silk with a dedicated print and a special Borsalino hat make this line complete. ‹‹‹

Vencer is proud to present the production version of the Vencer Sarthe. After a period of thoroughly testing and validation with pre-production engineering prototypes, the production version of the Sarthe for 2015 is now ready. In a new manufacturing facility the company is building the first customer cars that will have some key upgrades including; perfected exterior features, an advanced interior design as well as a brand new engine. Last year a preproduction prototype of the Vencer Sarthe was revealed by Prince Albert II of Monaco at Top Marques exhibition in Monaco. Meanwhile Vencer has gone through a period of thoroughly testing with their last (red) pre-production car to validate all new technology for the production model of the Vencer Sarthe. With over 100 changes and modifications made on the production model, the Vencer Sarthe MY2015 is the result of years of extensive development by a dedicated and passionate team. This vision has led to collaboration with high-end automotive suppliers and freelance experts willing to go the extra mile to develop a unique car with true character and analogue feel. By following this trajectory Vencer has achieved to manufacture a distinctive, light and pure drivers car, with a clear focus on road-use. The Sarthe is an exceptional supercar that involves all your senses of what nowadays is becoming increasingly rare.

bodywork of the Sarthe is a tight wrapping of the raw power that lies beneath, expressed in smooth lines and profoundly sculpted flanks. The fluent shape of the car allows the lines to run cleanly from the short bonnet to conclude in a typical and aerodynamic long “Kamm” tail. Low, purposeful and sleek, the Sarthe talks performance and agility.

AN NEW LIGHTWEIGHT INTERIOR FOCUSED ON THE ESSENTIALS

The production version of the Vencer Sarthe looks even more striking and powerful than before. The Vencer Sarthe is named after the circuit “la Sarthe” and the details incorporated into the car are a subtle tribute to the sports cars from the ’80s Le Mans era. The

A completely new interior design brings to life an extraordinary and refined feel, with a clear and clean minimalist focus on only driving essentials. The typical wide door sills, close-fitting cockpit and central driving position of the Sarthe together with a short

The MY2015 production model has some notable new exterior design features including a new quarter glass design, open air-flow C-pillars, a new engine cover, aerodynamic front splitters and an automatic rear spoiler. The new quarter glass design in clear coat carbon with open C-pillars increase the aerodynamic flow and together with the automatic rear spoiler they provide additional down force on the rear axle. A new engine cover design and larger side air inlets have been integrated to ensure a greater airflow and cooling to the new engine.

Also a wide variety of materials can be selected to customize your car, with many bespoke options to make each Sarthe truly individual.

NEW VENCER 6.3L V63SC ENGINE A new masterpiece forms an integral part of the Vencer philosophy relating to the commitment to sheer driving pleasure. The Vencer 6.3L V63SC engine is a new development for the MY 2015 model. This powerful eight-cylinder unit is composed of the best high-end OEM components available. Inspired by the ’80s Le Mans era, Vencer has incorporated a number of measures that have resulted in a powerhouse with impressive character. The engine stands out for its sublime power delivery, a deliberate broad power range and raw mechanical feel. The 6.3L V8 with supercharger boasts 622BHP (457kW) at 6500 rpm, and 838 Nm (618 lb-ft) of torque at 4000 rpm. Vencer has chosen to add a

supercharger not only for increased power output, but also for immediate throttle response and impressive torque figures (650 Nm starting at 1500 rpm), adding to the driveability and agility of the car. Furthermore, the engine is mounted deep into the chassis to ensure a lower centre of gravity and high lateral acceleration. Double Take

T OYO TA F T-1 SPORTS CAR CONCEPTS

Proof that its beauty lies on the inside and out, Toyota revealed today a second interior styling and exterior color for an upscale interpretation of its sensational FT-1 sports car concept. Developed by Calty Design Research in Newport Beach, California, the concept vehicle’s graphite exterior paint and light, saddle-colored leather went on display for the first time at the Gordon McCall’s Motorworks Revival gala held on California’s Monterey Peninsula.

T

he original FT-1 concept ignited sports car enthusiasts and the automotive world with its January debut at the North American International Auto Show. Labeled the spiritual pace car for the new direction of Toyota Global Design, the muscular, curved exterior builds on Toyota’s rich sports coupe heritage dating back to the 2000GT, Celica, Supra, MR2 and most recently Scion FR-S. That first vehicle stunned in a bold red, while this second FT-1 impresses with sophisticated graphite. Both share the deeply sculpted intakes and outlets that support its track-ready nature and the dramatic lines seemingly shaped by the wind. It’s a look that gets the heart racing. The color of the upscale leather changes between the first and second FT-1 vehicles, and the visual difference is striking. The first car was dominated by bold, masculine black that keeps the driver focused on the road, while red painted edges and raw metals provide intriguing accents. In the second, the natural leather on the seat is supple with an all-natural grain, giving it an authentic appeal. The painted edges that are red in the first concept are now subtly blended brown in the second. The intention is to bring in a more sophisticated feel and authenticity through

color choice, showcasing the versatility of the FT-1 sports car concept. Enthusiasts who desire a more pure highperformance experience might choose the black-red pairing, while others may desire the premium, athletic feel of the saddle leather. “From the start of the FT-1 project, we wanted the driver to have a feeling of flow while at the wheel – to be able to focus on the road and nothing else,” said Sellene Lee, the Calty creative designer who proposed both color concepts. “In the color studio we help create the atmosphere of the vehicle, and our aim was to ensure everything supported the driver through efficient choices. The

saddle leather maintains that same ‘in the zone’ driving intention, while bringing in a more premium feeling.” SUPERHERO INSPIRATION FOR THE INTERIOR Sellene Lee drew inspiration for the FT-1 interior from the modern, hightech performance materials used for today’s superhero costumes. A movie poster drew her attention to the modern shift from past heroes’ bright tights and colors to today’s performance fabrics and function. To achieve the FT-1’s advanced-looking, intricately detailed interior, Sellene Lee and the team compared leather thicknesses, grain sizes

37

and textures to find the perfect combination. Raised metal mesh provides ventilation for the seats while lending a more textural, bold effect that beautifully matches with the metal accents. A dimensional embossed pattern on the instrument panel leather brings in a 3-D, technical look. “From color and trim standpoint in the FT1, there was a laser-like focus on staying true to function,” said Wendy Lee, studio chief designer at Calty. “This project was very special, as the FT-1 stands apart in its performance-driven, authentic purpose.”

38

Beyond her superhero performance material concept, Sellene Lee moved away from the typical stitching or piping edge treatment found in many vehicle interiors. The painted red edges on the welded leather and painted brown edges on the second FT-1 were inspired by high-end leather bags she found in an upscale department store. When drivers sit in FT-1, they can feel the difference in materials, textures and color choices that resulted from the team’s work. ‹‹‹

Double the Fun in Gran Turismo 6

Two new versions of the FT-1 will be available for download virtually inside Gran Turismo 6 (GT6), the latest iteration of the best-selling racing franchise exclusively on PlayStation®3. Like the red FT-1 introduced in January, the graphite FT-1 concept roars onto the Gran Turismo 6 racetrack as a downloadable vehicle for a limited time. Additionally, in celebration of the 15th anniversary of the Gran Turismo series, Calty has also designed an ultra high-performance race version of the FT-1 that inside the game is called the FT-1 “Vision GT.” This high-powered version interprets what a full-race FT-1 might achieve on the track. The GT6 played an important role in helping key executives (including Toyota President Akio Toyoda) better experience the FT-1 concept prior to building the vehicle. Both virtual versions capture the same excitement, passion and performance the physical FT-1 vehicles inspire in those who see them.

FIRST LAMBORGHINI PLUG-IN HYBRID

Asterion LPI 910-4 Clearly a Lamborghini, Asterion is a conceptual car housing a plug-in hybrid powertrain designed to Lamborghini objectives: The Asterion defines a solution to significantly reducing CO 2 emissions through technologies available today, guaranteeing the unique Lamborghini driving feel with a smooth and reactive driveability and with superior power, including an exceptional pure electric range of 50 km.

C

onceived and developed entirely in-house by Lamborghini, the Asterion LPI 910-4 takes the design and cutting-edge engineering expertise found in the current Lamborghini product range, adding innovative hybrid technology, creating thus a Lamborghini that is clearly different – with a new, unexpected and sensual design, in line with the technical characteristics of the car – but yet is still unmistakably a Lamborghini.

“Lamborghini continues to focus on weight reduction as a means to reducing CO2 , for example through the investment in carbon fiber engineering, which also contributes to our quest for the best super sports car handling and performance. To significantly reduce emissions on a car in this moment however, plug-in electrification is the best option for us, because for Lamborghini such a car must still provide a truly emotional driving experience. In the Asterion this is guaranteed through

a naturally aspirated engine that is combined with PHEV technology, which not only offers exceptionally low CO 2 emissions of 98 g/km, but a practical pure electric driving range of 50 km. The Asterion LPI 910-4 is a true Lamborghini: emotional, with a stunning design, powerful, yet conceived more for comfortable luxury daily cruising than for ultimate track performance.” THE PLUG-IN HYBRID SOLUTION AND PERFORMANCE For the Lamborghini Asterion LPI 910-4, a PHEV solution is the clear Lamborghini choice. The Asterion provides allimportant urban driving under purely electric power, a significant range of 50 km for the car when powered only by battery energy, and the emotion and power of a naturally aspirated Lamborghini engine for a unique driving experience.

THE RATIONALE Asterion is a technology demonstrator representing a Lamborghini model that could be realistically produced today, using technologies currently available and drawing on Lamborghini’s own expertise. “Lamborghini is always looking ahead, investing in new technologies and setting new benchmarks, delivering the unexpected,” says Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini.

45

Fuel consumption is 4,12 l/100 km combined cycle (NEDC). The weight of the hybrid technology is 250 kg. The Asterion’s objective of significantly reducing C0 2 emissions, while maintaining an engaging and emotional Lamborghini cruising experience, is achieved with exceptional CO 2 emissions of 98 g/km. Based on a monocoque made entirely of carbon fibre, a V10 5.2 liter FSI engine is located longitudinally as a mid-engine, as in Lamborghini super sports cars. The extremely fast shifting 7-speed dual-clutch transmission is located behind the engine at the rear transaxle. The housing of the powerful lithium battery is placed longways

46

in the central tunnel area, normally reserved for the transmission. This allows for better balance of the car and also protects the battery area in case of lateral crash impact. The Asterion’s hybrid architecture is realized with an electric motor incorporating an integrated starter motor and generator (ISG) which is placed between the V10 engine and the double clutch gearbox, and two electric motors at the front axle fed by the ISG power with a torque vectoring function. This system allows the Asterion two different driving modes: in hybrid mode it is combining the V10 engine with the three electric motors guaranteeing a permanent four-wheel drive without

being dependent on the battery’s state of charge. In pure electric drive mode only the two electric motors in the front are used. The V10 5.2 l longitudinally-placed, naturally aspirated mid-engine provides a maximum power output of 449 kW (610 hp) with 560 Nm of maximum torque available. Combined with the three electric motors providing a further 220 kW (300 hp), total hybrid power is achievable to a maximum of 669 kW (910 hp). The combined action of the two propulsion systems ensures an exceptional dynamic impulse: acceleration of 0-100 km/h takes place in 3.0 seconds.

With a top hybrid/combined speed of 320 km/h the Asterion LPI 910-4 also reaches up to 125 km/h under pure electric power. More importantly for city driving the Asterion has a pure electric range of 50 km, putting it top of the class for hybrid super sports cars. THE EXTERIOR DESIGN The Blue Elektra glittered color of the Asterion as well as the new design language reflect the technological concept behind the car. Designed by Lamborghini Centro Stile, the Asterion contains the unmistakeable Lamborghini DNA and heritage and yet is clearly different from the existing Lamborghini super sports car models. The Asterion touches new boundaries, with an innovative and unexpected design language which explores curves and sensuality, smooth transitions from panel to panel, and few sharp edges. The result is a pure, essential design.

47

The Asterion, like all Lamborghini cars, has clearly defined lines, separating flat planes from the side of the car and distinguishing between panels. Light and shadow accentuate the volumes of the car, highlighting the muscularity of Asterion yet giving the car a more slender elegance. The front end of the car is produced as a single component, giving the Asterion a dynamic look, emphasised through the positioning of its four ‘eyes with eyebrows’: headlights are realized in materials including forged carbon and titanium. The front air intakes are characterized by an active air cooling system which uses a double layered grid for the first time in a Lamborghini: one metal and one titanium grid are embedded into each other, one containing the Y leitmotiv and the other the hexagon theme, creating a tri dimensional effect and standing out against the body color. The powerful rear end stands out for its shape and remarkable rear lights, including a grid covering two radiators, and a clear separation between body color and black parts. A transparent engine cover in the rear is an aesthetic detail linking to the hybrid technology beneath, comprised of three hexagonal glasses that turn according to the engine driving mode: pure electric, hybrid power or pure thermal engine power. The Pirelli tires are fitted to 20” and 21” rims in carbon components, and surrounded by well-defined mudguards embedded within the body of the car that contribute to the muscular road presence of the Asterion. The Asterion’s doors are large, opening outwards and permit easy access to the car’s interior. Creating an ergonomically spacious cabin for the car’s occupants with a comfortable seating position, the angle of the black A Pillars gives a more vertical windshield and a higher head clearance, while visually extending the front of the car, which includes a luggage compartment. Thus the interior of the Asterion guarantees an appropriate roominess for the passengers. A lit tricolore flag on the door reminds of Asterion’s Italian heritage and a discreet Raging Bull shield is embedded in the side of the car. THE INTERIOR DESIGN The clear, minimal and modern interior of the Asterion reflects the exterior design yet with a classic look and feel. Internally, the two

seats are positioned higher than those in Lamborghini super sports cars, ensuring a car for comfortable every day cruising rather than extreme performance and handling. Extensive Bianco Celaeno (ivory) and Marrone Attis (brown) leather immediately confirm the luxurious drive experience of the Asterion with an elegance from combining materials including aluminium and forged carbon fibre, as well as titanium that is also visible in the iconic three spoke steering wheel design drawn from the Miura. However, the Asterion’s steering wheel also includes three buttons from which the driver selects his engine driving mode: Zero – for zero emissions/ full electric; I for ‘Ibrido’ (hybrid); and T for ‘Termico (thermal) power. Finally, a portable tablet allows the car’s occupants to manage climate control and other functions including GPS and in-car infotainment. THE NAME Asterion LPI 910-4 – LP stands for ‘longitudinale posteriore’, the position of the conventional engine, I stands for ‘ibrido’, 910 for the system power and 4 for the permanent 4WD system – is the new concept of a new kind of dream car designed by Lamborghini starting from an intuition: the key for anticipating the future lies in a transformation and hybridisation of Lamborghini’s own DNA. With the Asterion, a hyper cruiser is born: a mix of elegance with the pure seduction offered by driving a Lamborghini, a car whose powerful engine meets the sustainability of hybrid technology, thanks also to its lightweight chassis in carbon fiber. The Lamborghini Asterion is inspired by a legend: Asterion is the proper name of the mythical Minotaur, a hybrid figure and symbolic crossbreed telling a story of the powerful fusion between intellect and instinct, part man and part bull, creating an ever powerful archetype. Thus, Lamborghini sticks to its tradition of giving its models a name taken from the world of bulls, but at the same time adding an innovative element, a hybrid DNA: the strength of a bull delivered by the naturally aspirated engine is combined with the human rationale delivered by the hybrid technology. ‹‹‹

XL SPORT VW with a V-Twin

There has never been a sports car like the XL Sport concept that is being shown for the first time by Volkswagen at the Paris Motor Show. This is a car that uncompromisingly furthers the development of the lightweight sports car. Based on the XL1, the most fuel-efficient production car of all time, this 168-mph machine is a compelling blend of efficiency and emotion. The XL Sport houses one of the finest achievements in engine technology— the V-Twin adapted from the new Ducati 1199 Superleggera, the world's most powerful two-cylinder motorcycle. Like the XL1, of which only 250 will be built, the Superleggera is also being manufactured in a limited edition of 500 units, using a process that embraces hand fabrication and high-precision industrial manufacturing. The XL1 and the Superleggera, two icons of lightweight carbon and magnesium design

technology, thus unite to create a unique sports car. With the XL Sport, Volkswagen and Ducati impressively demonstrate how high-tech developments can lead to synergies between Volkswagen Group brands. PIONEERING AERODYNAMICS The Ducati 1199 Superleggera has the best power-to-weight ratio of any production motorcycle in history. In the car world, the XL Sport achieves a similar

record—the best ratio between weight (1962 pounds), power (147 kW/197 hp) and aerodynamics (CdA of 0.44 square meters). It’s a combination that allows the car to reach an impressive top speed of 168 mph on just 197 hp. The vehicle's aerodynamics are one key reason the car performs so well. The coefficient of drag (Cd) of 0.258 and the low frontal area of 1.7 sq m combine to give a CdA of 0.44 sq m, one of the best values ever achieved and a major triumph for Volkswagen's aerodynamicists and designers. The achievement is made all the more impressive due to the fact that the concept's performance-car design brief demanded wide tires, apertures for cooling air, and optimal downforce. There are a number of individual features that contribute to the XL Sport's arrowlike performance, in addition to the

53

197 HP SPORTS CAR HAS A TOP SPEEDOF

168 MPH uncompromising styling. These include special vanes that direct the air at the front into specific channels, wheelarch vents, an optimized underbody, lift-reducing air ducts in the hood, an extendable rear spoiler (powered by the same unit as in the Lamborghini Aventador), and adaptive air vents incorporated in the rear hatch. THE WORLD'S MOST POWERFUL TWO-CYLINDER ENGINE The Ducati 1199 Superleggera's V-Twin engine was slightly modified for use in the XL Sport, but is basically the same as the motorcycle’s. Thanks to its tough, lightweight titanium connecting rods, the 1199 cc double-overhead-camshaft engine can rev up to 11,000 rpm. The Superquadro's high speeds are made possible by its extreme bore/stroke ratio of 112 mm by 60.8 mm and the exceptionally short crankshaft stroke associated with it. In addition, the two four-valve cylinders, which are arranged at an angle of 90 degrees to each other, feature desmodromic valve control (positive

54

valve closure) that is typical of the highrevving Ducati engines and requires the finest of precision engineering to ensure optimum valve clearance. Other features of the world's most powerful two-cylinder engine are the use of magnesium-alloy for the clutch, cylinder head, and oil pan covers, the two throttle valve discs, and the two fuel injectors per cylinder. Last but by no means least, the XL Sport has a newly developed step-down transmission to reduce engine speeds by a factor of 1.86. Torque from the V-Twin engine (99 pound-feet) is transmitted to the rear axle via a seven-speed DSG® dual-clutch automatic transmission. From a standing start, the XL Sport takes 5.7 seconds to reach 62 mph. RACING CHASSIS The significantly redesigned chassis, high-revving engine, and aerodynamic performance firmly plant the XL Sport in the racing realm. The chassis incorporates high-strength steel subframes which house upper and lower control arms at the front with pullrod actuation for the

dampers, while the control arms at the back have pushrods—similar to the layout for a racing car. The forged magnesiumalloy wheels, which save 53 pounds compared to aluminum-alloy rims, are fitted with 205/40 R18 front and 265/35 R18 rear high-performance tires. The XL Sport has a powerful ceramic brake disc setup. CFRP BODY Because the XL Sport is a sister model to the XL1, it shares the same basic design. Like the XL1, the central monocoque and most of the body panels are manufactured in carbonfiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) using the RTM (Resin Transfer Molding) process. The monocoque features slightly offset seats for the driver and passenger. The wing doors of the XL1 and XL Sport are reminiscent of a high-end sports car’s. They are hinged at two points: low on the A-pillars and just above the windshield in the roof frame, so they swivel upwards and slightly forwards as well. The doors also extend far into the roof, giving an exceptionally large amount of entry and

Sport is just as wide at the back as at the front. From above, the shape is that of a classic racing car, with a waisted cockpit area. Air intakes and outlets at the A- and B-posts ensure optimal air flow and cooling for the drive unit. Like the XL1, there are no conventional door mirrors: instead, they are replaced by e-Mirrors, small streamlined cameras integrated in the fenders that send images of the surroundings behind the car to two displays inside the vehicle. In front of the rear wheelarches, the 'Motore Ducati' lettering refers to the 1199 Superleggera engine in the rear.

exit space. In order to keep the weight as low as possible, the windows are made from polycarbonate and are fixed in place: just a segment of the lower area of the side windows can be opened. COMPELLING PROPORTIONS Despite sharing its underlying design with the XL1, the XL Sport has a look of its own. The reason for this is that the XL1 was designed for ultimate fuel efficiency, whereas the XL Sport’s design brief included uncompromising driving dynamics. The XL Sport is longer and wider than the XL1 because of the need for additional downforce on a 168-mph car and because of the packaging requirements of the chassis and powertrain. The XL Sport showcased in Paris is 168.9 inches long (versus 153.1 in for the XL1), 72.7 in wide (65.5 in), and 45.4 in mm high (45.4 in). The wheelbase has also been increased to 95.4 in, up from : 87.6 in.

DESIGN CONCEPT As outlined above, the concept car builds on the dynamic and expressive design of the XL1. The surfaces have an even more muscular appearance as they extend over the significantly broader fenders and the large wheels. The XL Sport’s broad front section is marked out by dual LED headlights and the XL1’s signature LED daytime running lights. The XL Sport features air intakes on either side of the headlights for the vanes which feed the air around the car's front end. In common with the XL1, the front section of the XL Sport does not have a conventional radiator grille, yet it retains the current Volkswagen design DNA, with horizontal lines dominating this area. The cooling air supply for the Ducati engine is via vents in the rear fenders. Whereas the XL1 is at its widest at the front and tapers towards the rear, the XL

At the rear, the new XL Sport has four specific eye catching features. First, the extremely wide, flat rear has distinctive “shoulders” above the wheels and an extendable rear spoiler that occupies almost the full width. Second, as with the XL1, there is a coupe-shaped roofline without a rear windshield. The rear hatch that merges into the roofline conceals the Ducati engine, the seven-speed DSG transmission and 3.8 cubic feet of luggage space, and incorporates five louvers that open automatically to cool the drive unit. Third, the iconic red LED ribbon follows the shape of the rear section and is framed at the sides by another, vertical, LED element which serves to emphasize the XL Sport’s width. Fourth, there is a black diffuser that merges almost seamlessly into the completely enclosed underbody and is finished at each side with a chrome exhaust tip. INTERIOR DESIGN The interior of the XL Sport is based on the XL1’s, but has been modified and individualized to conform with the change in the vehicle's mission. For example, the XL Sport boasts a digital instrument cluster that includes a lap timer and oil pressure display. A carbonfiber cowl extends across the top of the instrument cluster to completely eliminate reflections. The XL Sport's steering wheel has decorative red stitching and has been equipped with aluminum-alloy shift paddles to facilitate ultra-quick gear shifts. There are further classy details to add a sporty touch, with anodized aluminum accents around the air vents, the climate control fascia and the DSG shift gate. The seat belts are red, picking up on the theme of the contrasting red stitching on the steering wheel. ‹‹‹

Twenty years ago, the then soon-to-belaunched McLaren F1 GTR began testing ahead of an assault on the 1995 GT season. The track derivative, as the road-going version had done, rewrote the rule book and the claimed victories and titles across the globe in the years that followed, securing a place in motorsport folklore. Two decades on, and the covers have been pulled off the dramatic and purposeful McLaren P1™ GTR design concept during a private event at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance event in California. The aggressive racing concept is a preview to the final model which, with a little under a year until production commences, has now entered the next phase as the development team works to hone and further optimise the ultimate track-focused racer.

With no need to meet the legislations for road legality, the McLaren P1™ GTR will be the most track-tailored and most powerful model produced by McLaren Special Operations to date, with a clear target even more focused than its road-going sibling: to be the best driver’s car in the world on track. With even greater emphasis on aerodynamic performance through the dramatic bodywork, the McLaren P1™ GTR will also feature race-proven slick tires, a fixed ride height, enhanced power delivery from the IPAS powertrain and Formula 1™-derived DRS from the large, fixed rear wing and an ERS-style push-to-pass system, all combining to offer the ultimate track experience. AERODYNAMICALLY OPTIMISED TO OFFER MORE EXTREME PERFORMANCE Based on the McLaren P1™ road car, the track-focused McLaren P1™ GTR design concept further optimises the aerodynamically efficient ‘shrink-wrapped’ body shape in order to offer maximum performance, superior handling characteristics and optimised driver engagement on track. A host of changes have been made, and the car has been thoroughly re-engineered from the ground up to ensure the McLaren P1™ GTR achieves its target of being the ultimate drivers’ car on track.

The front track of the McLaren P1™ GTR design concept has been increased by 80mm and is coupled with a more aggressive GT-style front splitter. Reprofiled low temperature radiator ducts seamlessly flow into the leading edge of the aggressively flared front wheelarches, while the active aerodynamic flaps are retained from the McLaren P1™ in the floor ahead of the front wheels. The bodywork is ‘shrink-wrapped’ around the carbon fibre MonoCage chassis behind the front wheels, and is designed to channel the air from around the wheel well. An additional aerodynamic blade is located behind the wheelarch to clean the air from the front tires. This aero device flows seamlessly along the bottom edge of the dihedral doors, along the flank of the carbon fibre bodywork, to an additional side panel at the rear which ducts additional air into the high temperature radiator and improves the aerodynamic performance of the rear floor. The profile of the McLaren P1™ GTR design concept remains as dramatic as ever, hunkered down on to the race-prepared suspension with a fixed

ride height, lower than the standard car. The snorkel air intake, inspired by the design of the original McLaren F1, is still present within the roof structure of the carbon fibre MonoCage chassis. The wing mirrors have been repositioned to the A pillars, to put them closer to the eye line of the driver and reduce aerodynamic drag, while the trailing edge of the door-mounted radiator channels have been extended to draw more air down through the cavity within the door, and into the engine to aid cooling.

A set of lightweight 19-inch motorsport alloy wheels are fitted – 10.5-inches wide at the front, 13-inches at the rear – and are secured into place with quick-release centre locking nuts. Tire changes are made easier through an onboard air jacking system, similar to that seen on the McLaren 650S GT3 racer. At the rear, a large, twin-element wing is mounted on dramatic carbon fibre pylons which extend around the rear of the bodywork. This fixed height wing is fitted with a hydraulically operated Drag Reduction System (DRS) to boost acceleration performance, and has been honed to provide increased levels of downforce compared to the road car, working with the active aerodynamic flaps located ahead of the front wheels. The active aerodynamic devices optimise aerodynamic balance through all phases of cornering. The bodywork of the car has been reprofiled to improve aerodynamic efficiency below the large rear wing, and incorporates a quickrelease system without affecting the rear wing. the bodywork, but with the fixed height wing, and therefore no pistons or moving mechanical parts, the bodywork of the McLaren P1™ GTR design concept behind the engine bay is now a smooth, flowing surface, feeding clean air below the wing and over the back of the car. Below the rear wing sits the exposed, centrally mounted exhaust, which is an all new design, developed exclusively for the McLaren P1™ GTR. Made from inconel and titanium alloy, the system maximises the aural characteristic of the higher output 3.8-litre twin turbo V8 engine to maintain, and further emphasise, the McLaren sound. The design of the exhaust has also changed, with a straight cut twin pipe setup now used in place of the single exit exhaust.

MODERN INTERPRETATION IS MORE THAN JUST A FAMILY RESEMBLANCE The design concept unveiled at Pebble Beach wears a livery which harks back to the original McLaren to wear the GTR badge. During the rigorous testing programme for the F1 GTR, the test car, chassis #01R, originally wore a distinctive orange and silver livery. This color scheme has been reinterpreted for the model, with the number, 01, signifying the original chassis number. That car eventually went on to take the coveted win at the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Airflow is managed carefully across the whole car and channelled in the most efficient and effective ways possible. This includes the air below the car, and a large carbon fibre diffuser dominates the lower half of the rear of the car. This is designed to work in tandem with the rear wing to enhance rear downforce and grip levels. The McLaren P1™ GTR design concept runs on the bespoke slick tires designed by technical partners Pirelli in collaboration with McLaren, designed to offer a greater level of grip, cornering agility and handling balance. These characteristics enable much later braking into corners, higher apex speeds, and the earlier application of the throttle on the exit of corners, which lead to improved lap times.

lso making its debut alongside the McLaren P1™ GTR design concept will be a unique example of the McLaren 650S. Commissioned by the McLaren Paris retailer, the 650S Coupé has been produced by MSO, the bespoke division of McLaren, and is a visually striking example of the groundbreaking mid-engined supercar. The bodywork is finished in gleaming Pearl White metallic, with the color extending throughout the exterior, including the front splitter, door blades and side intakes. In contrast to this, details such as the roof, lightweight alloy wheels and mirror casings have been finished in contrasting gloss black. The monochromatic design gives the one-off 650S a dramatic yet elegant look. A body-colored front bumper and MSO door blades improve airflow and optimise aerodynamic efficiency, while the rear of the car is fitted with an aggressive carbon fibre diffuser which is in contrast to the crisp paintwork. Further contrast is added with a set of five-spoke lightweight forged 650S alloy wheels finished in gloss black. Inside, the cabin is trimmed with lightweight black Alcantara® and contrasting orange stitching throughout. The look of the interior is complemented with extensive use of carbon fibre and a gloss black finish applied to the air vents, instrument cluster and switches on the Active Dynamics Panel.
