Capital Hill Residence in Moscow, Russia by Zaha Hadid Architects. Located on the north-face hillside in Barvikha where pine and birch trees grow up to 20 metres high, a villa with fluid geometries emerges from the landscape. According to the architect, the programme is organized vertically on four levels. The lower level is envisioned as a leisure space and includes a living room, massage and fitness areas, as well as a sauna and hammam baths. One level up on the ground floor is the main living room, dining space, kitchen, entertainment and indoor swimming room and parking spaces. The first floor contains the main entrance lobby, study/library, guest room and children’s room. The master bedrooms and a lounge with an exterior terrace occupy the upper level. The general design concept is to extend the exterior topography to the interior of the building, while geometrical definition is derived from the surrounding environmentof flowing terrain levels. www.zaha-hadid.com

The third unit of Azimut Grande 120SLs built over the last two years is scheduled for launch this April 2014; it is an embodiment of the Azimut-Benetti Group’s production excellence. Made up of planing yachts over 30-metres, the Azimut Grande is the most exclusive Azimut Yachts collection.
The internal layout still includes a main saloon with its 60 square metres; 50 square metres of glazing and the additional operable skylight above – which reveals more than 15 square metres of sky and sea - provide an unprecedented sensation: the distinction between inside and outside virtually disappears. The liveability and expanse of the interiors is emphasized by opening the glazing which separates the living area from the cockpit to create a single space in direct contact with the sea. The layout also includes three guest cabins: one VIP cabin in the bow with a double bed, and two cabins with twin beds amidships, each with a private bathroom. In addition, the lower deck is equipped with an additional day head for day guests. Even the exterior is designed and constructed to offer the best possible vacation experience. Towards the bow, a small sitting room and two large sunpads allow for total relaxation, all the while ensuring the necessary privacy. Between the openable roof section over the saloon and cockpit, a flybridge creates an additional outdoor living area equipped with a steering station, Jacuzzi, and dinette sofa. At the stern, the swimming platform above the transmissions with stairs going up to the cockpit. The three MTU 2000 16V engines are coupled with three RollsRoyce KaMeWa water jets, two lateral water jets, and a central booster jet for true thoroughbred performance: the maximum speed is 39 knots. There are those who believe they can sense the proximity to this magical border which separates the Northern from the Southern Hemisphere. And one thing is for sure, I have reached my destination. Villingili, one of the largest and also one of the most beautiful islands in the Maldives. And also my own personal journey’s end. Hotel

After herbal compresses, reflexology and a body mask consisting of green tea, sea algae and a cooling jade roller, I feel totally rejuvenated. The chic spa is located in the Mandarin Oriental hotel on Connaught Road on Hong Kong Island. And it also has something to offer the men – in the exclusive gentlemen’s barber shop. The afternoon is devoted to the city’s three most famous attractions. The Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre with its spectacular architecture. Then the superb panorama from Victoria Peak, Hong Kong’s landmark mountain, which you can still ascend with the Swiss funicular railway dating back to 1888, and where the real estate prices climb even higher with every station. And, not to be forgotten, Disney Land on Lantau, one of the 263 islands which make up Hong Kong. Time for afternoon tea in the magnificent hotel “The Peninsula” in Kowloon. Princess Diana enjoyed the dignified atmosphere of the Victorian palace which is reminiscent of the British colonial era. Hollywood stars, such as Richard Gere, also frequent the hotel. “The Peninsula” boasts its own helicopter landing pad and no less than 14 well-cared for Rolls-Royce limousines. In the comfortable cushioned seats and with a virtually silent engine, you can enjoy exploring the nearby shopping streets as if you are floating on a cloud – especially Nathan Road with its wonderful window displays.

It sounds like Robinson Crusoe’s last secret: somewhere there down below in the depths of the ocean lie big chests with bottles full of good mature wine – a treasure which is only waiting to be raised. But this time, it isn’t a fishy story. Rather the innovative idea of a passionate diver and wine connoisseur from Spain: Señor Borja Saracho actually lets the wine mature deep below sea level. To be more precise: off the coast of the Basque country at Plentzia, a small fishing village not far from Bilbao. Wine from the ocean? Yes, you’ve read correctly. Its name: “Crusoe Treasure”.

Doch diesmal ist es kein Seemannsgarn. Sondern die innovative Idee eines passionierten Tauchers und Weinliebhabers aus Spanien: Señor Borja Saracho lässt Wein tatsächlich tief unter dem Meeresspiegel reifen. Genauer: vor der Küste des Baskenlandes bei Plentzia, einem kleinen Fischerort nicht weit von Bilbao. Wein aus dem Meer? Richtig gelesen. Sein Name: „Crusoe Treasure“ – Robinson „Crusoes Schatz“. Die Idee zu diesem ungewöhnlichen Weinkeller kam Borja Saracho als er Berichte über uralte Flaschen las, die man in den Wracks längst versunkener Schiffe gefunden hatte: Vor der schwedischen Küste entdeckten Taucher hundert Jahre alte Weinflaschen im Bug der SS Astrid, die hier 1916 nach einem Torpedoangriff unterging. Ebenfalls in der Ostsee wurde der vermutlich älteste Champagner der Welt aus einem versunkenen Segelschiff geborgen – ein Veuve Clicquot aus dem Jahr 1780. Auf einer Versteigerung in Helsinki brachte allein eine Flasche von insgesamt 70 „Wrack-Weinen“ 30’000 Euro ein. Das Erstaunliche an diesen Funden: Nahezu alle Flaschen waren durchaus noch trinkbar. In der Dunkelheit des Meeres, unter hohem Druck und bei Kühlschranktemperaturen überdauerten Konsistenz, Bouquet und Geschmack. Die übereinstimmende Meinung vieler Experten: Wein findet unter dem Meeresspiegel ideale Bedingungen für einen perfekten Reifungsprozess und eine ungewöhnlich lange Lagerfähigkeit.

Zusammen mit seinem Freund Javier Ortuondo, einem erfahrenen Meeresbiologen, gründete Borja Saracho die Weinkelterei „Bajoelagua“ und begann mit der Produktion des weltweit ersten Unterwasserweins. Die Anbaugebiete des Crusoe liegen in Rioja und Ribera del Duro. Die ausgesuchten Trauben (in erster Linie Tempranillo) gedeihen an 80 Jahre alten Rebstöcken, werden von Hand geerntet und zunächst sechs Monate in Eichenfässern eingelagert. Nach der Flaschenabfüllung fahren Borja Saracho und Javier Ortuondo die Ladung mit ihrem eigenen Kutter, der „Crusoe Treasure“, vor der kantabrischen Küste auf die See hinaus. Dort legen die beiden Taucheranzug und Sauerstoffflaschen an und bringen den Wein eigenhändig auf 20 Meter
The idea for this unusual wine cellar came to Borja Saracho when he read reports about ancient bottles, which had been found in the wrecks of ships which sank long ago: off the Swedish coast, divers discovered bottles of wine that were hundreds of years old in the bug of the SS Astrid, which went down here in a torpedo attack in 1916. What is presumed to be the oldest Champagne in the world - a Veuve Clicquot from 1780, was also salvaged from a sunken sailing ship in the Baltic Sea. At an auction in Helsinki, one bottle alone out of a total of 70 “Wreck wines” brought 30,000 euros. The amazing thing about this find: almost all bottles were still entirely drinkable. In the darkness of the ocean, under high pressure and at refrigerator temperatures, the consistency, bouquet and taste prevailed. The unanimous opinion of many experts: below sea level, wine finds the ideal conditions for a perfect ripening process and an unusually long storage life. 82

“I actually wanted to be a pilot,” says Dr. Knutti grinning - he

Seither gilt er als einer der erfolgreichsten Schönheitschirurgen weltweit. „Eigentlich wollte ich ja Pilot werden“, erzählt Dr. Knutti schmunzelnd, der seine ersten Flüge bereits im Alter von 17 Jahren absolvierte. Seine Fluglizenz berechtigt ihn, sogar mehrmotorige Jets zu steuern. Doch dann ließ er sich von der Medizin begeistern. Schließlich seien hier wie da „ein gutes Auge und Präzision das A und O“. Dr. Knuttis sichere Hand ist vor allem bei schwierigen Gesichtsoperationen gefragt. Zu seinen Spezialgebieten zählen unter anderem Nasenkorrekturen. „Selbst kleinere Eingriffe können große Veränderungen bewirken“, so Dr. Knutti, „die es ermöglichen, sich dem Alltag mit neuem Selbstvertrauen zuzuwenden“. This includes a neat double-decker, which he purchased some time ago alongside his business aircraft: a Bücker Jungmann built in 1936 with 150 HP. Above the clouds, “Doctor Beauty” finds relaxation in it following a strenuous day in the operating theatre. Many thankful patients look out of their recovery room at the rattling plane flying by while the sun slowly goes down over the lake giving promise of a new day.

Here lies the key to the perfume market - and its recent evolution: a search for quality. “Natural ingredients, used by premium products, are a defining factor of this quality, notably when it comes to essential oils”, asserts Fabrice Pellegrin. For Christophe Cervasel, “the magic of creation can be lost in too much interaction with the client. A certain freedom is necessary to innovate and surprise. In London, where these fairs abound, it is easy for us to assume that people have an easy knowledge not only of what an art fair is, but which ones are the best and how they differ from one another. For anyone who is interested in collecting or buying works of art or antiques, the right art fair is an essential date in the diary: in short, it is an opportunity to see the best stock from the very best art dealers all under one roof.
