As you start to walk on the way, the way appears (Rumi)

Cecilia Rahban, Known for her creations in the visual arts field, now brings her vision and sensitivity to jewelry design. She has chosen stainless steel, chain maille in particular, as the medium for her latest creations, as it embodies the qualities she wishes to inspire: elegance and boldness, fluidity and strength, for her pieces to be grounding yet airy; she presents us with delicate jewelry pieces that are steel strong. “I was fortunate to grow up surrounded by art--classical music was always playing at home and my mother was a writer and painter. That was back in Uruguay, where I studied piano full time. When I came to the US, my career path took a turn--I turned to photography, then digital painting. My latest creations are in jewelry design, stainless steel pieces that represent elegance, boldness, fluidity and strength. I find each of my creative expressions on their own and as a whole very fulfilling, and I hope they inspire others. I wanted to create a symbol of resilience and strength of spirit, as well as the sparkle we all have, but sometimes life’s challenges make us forget or neglect to nourish.

Wearing my jewelry pieces is meant to not only beautify your look, but to connect you with your inner strength while bringing some fun into your day. I'm happy to have exhibited my work both locally in Southern California, in the LA/OC area, as well as internationally. I’m honored that my bracelet design “Steel Pearl™”: Femininity and Strength was featured at the Museum of Latin American Art as part of the Women’s Day Festival 2015 “Empowerment through the Arts." Recently, she participated in a show at the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art in Santa Ana, California in 2016. What inspired you? “The material itself, its look and feel, and my desire to express myself through it, form and shape it, so it becomes a piece of wearable art a statement, a celebration of our sensitivities and strengths.” What kind of material you use? Is there a reason to choose? “I use stainless steel chain maille, almost exclusively (the only other material has been titanium, an even stronger metal) because of its properties and what it represents to me: strength, it is bold and grounding, yet elegant and fluid”
