Analisi critica a cura della Dott.ssa Daria Cremonesi “There are a lot of people in the world, but there are even more faces, because everyone has many of them.”

Since she was a child Nicole started to get close to the world of art, influenced by the family and especially her grandfather, and from that moment she never stopped painting and expressing her emotions through creativity and colours. In general she can be defined an abstract artist: she doesn’t copy existing images and everything she draws is child of her hand and her head. Everything comes from her imagination and from her perspective towards the world and the reality to which she becomes completely devoted. The protagonists of Nicole’s paintings are definitely not conventional, they are ironic, playful images with colourful and lively traits. It is as if the protagonists wear masks, like the masks everyone of us tend to wear on a daily basis, the masks that have often been described by the most important poets and writers and that allow to give an idea of self different from the reality. The images almost become abstract parodies of an imaginary and internal world that often is difficult to express.

In Nicole Weaver’s artworks the deepest feelings become alive into abstract and colourful images. Behind this joyful surface is hidden a world full of feelings and emotions that attract and involve the viewer. Nicole says that the inspiration comes from her everyday life, emotions, stress, everything that happens to her and affect her life in a positive or negative way. Sometimes the inspiration comes unexpectedly and she finds herself painting in the middle of the night just because she feels the need to say something and art is the way for her to express herself. Sometimes she starts painting and already has in mind a clear idea of the subject, sometimes everything starts from colour and she creates the painting as she actually paints it. She says art is like a therapy for her to express her feelings and for this reasons she has accumulated a lot of paintings, however she doesn’t necessarily want to become a successful painter but she wants the audience to appreciate her works and her creativity.
